"God Damnit!" John Miller yelled as he watched the screen.
"What direction were those bastards heading in? We need to catch them!" John screamed at general Howard.
"Sir it appears they were heading North. The men near the cars have already gotten in and are heading in that direction. A couple will stop to pick up the soldiers that were in pursuit, but the rest will head North as quickly as possible. We may be able to track them because I believe those were stolen vehicles." General Howard responded.
"I feel like every time we get close they manage to just slip out of our grasp! First in Russia, and now here! Have we managed to track down the ones that escaped in Russia?" John fumed, turning beat red from anger and stress.
"So far we have found and killed 15 as they were trying to escape via various forms of transportation. Apparently they have split up and are sneaking away on public transit. Hard to track, even with modern technology since they have extremely good fake credential chips. No doubt those were made by the Chinese government for them."
"Where are they heading general?" John asked.
"We are not 100% sure, but we believe they are coming here to the U.S., and if I had to guess they will be heading right up North, along with the other terrorists. We are working with Homeland Security to try to catch them at the border. At least as many as we can." General Howard answered.
"Damnit general I want them ALL caught. Somebody is going to lose their job if they get into the country! How are things coming for shutting down the nuclear football?"
"Some sort of good news there, the hacker team that we assembled has made it through the first 6 layers of security. The 7th layer is the most difficult AI protected security layer though, so that is probably going to take a while. Right now our guys are in a race against the terrorists to crack that last layer." General Howard explained.

"I suppose that is good news, considering their cracking team has to be on the move right now, and members of our team designed this layer." John said, calming down a bit.
"But from what I have heard from the back channels, they have full control of the Chinese nukes sir. So we are not free and clear right now." General Howard explained.
"Damn. Damn. Damn. There is nothing we can do about the Chinese nukes, the Chinese President won't even acknowledge that they have lost control of their nukes. Not even to me! But we will worry about the Chinese nukes after we get control of our own."
"Yes sir. I will push them to work faster sir."
John began pacing the room and nibbling on the tray of food that had been provided. The stress was causing him to eat significantly more than normal. He was used to spending plenty of time with his wife and children in between his tasks as President. However now he was only able to occasionally catch glimpses of them for brief periods of time. This was nonstop work mode and John was not enjoying it at all.
"General as for the border, have the images we managed to capture of the terrorists in battle been uploaded to the homeland security AI?"
"Yes sir. All images have been uploaded." General Howard responded.
"How about to INTERPOL?" John asked.
"Not yet sir, we are working on that. It was easier to submit to homeland security."
"If they are heading for the U.S. we need to get our boys back here as fast as possible. And I know where they will be heading, straight for where this group is. Bring the Code Blue soldiers here as fast as you can. Send them to the Plattsburgh area, and have them ready for all out war general."

"Yes sir, we have transport ready for them sir." General Howard replied.
"Excuse me for a moment general." John said as he left the room.
John walked down the hallway toward the restrooms. He noticed that there were a few Code Blue soldiers along the way, protecting him at every moment. They had cordoned off this restroom specifically for the use of John and his personnel only.
John walked into the bathroom with a nod to one of the soldiers. He walked to the sink and looked at himself in the mirror. He had barely slept and it was showing on his face. He had big dark circles around his bloodshot eyes. His hair was standing on end in places, as he hadn't taken the time to comb it. He looked like a train wreck in comparison to his normal appearance.
John shook his head after looking at himself. Now he reached down and turned on the cold water in the sink. He took some of the water in his hands and splashed in on his face. He began rubbing his face and then looked in the mirror again.
"Am I the right person to be doing this?" He wondered aloud.
"Come on John. Snap to, the country is counting on you." John said with a whisper to himself.
John took one last look in the mirror and then turned around and headed for the door. As he walked out the door he looked around again. Just as it was when he had entered, several Code Blue soldiers at full attention. John again nodded his head at this group and headed back in to his command center.
"Sir we have your bunker ready and several members of your team are already there." General Howard greeted John with.
"OK, I am ready to go to the bunker, this is the one in the Blue Ridge mountains?"
"Yes sir, we feel that is where you will be the safest."
"Thank you general. I expect that you and my family will be there as well."
"Of course sir."
"Very good. I wa..." John started.
"Hold on sir, sorry to interrupt but it appears we have found Clayton Johnson." General Howard said while interrupting.
"You have a location? Well we need to get our boys there to help. Gather up the rest of the Code Blue soldiers and send them there for protection." John ordered.
"Yes sir, they will be heading there right away sir."
"Excellent, this is excellent news." John said.
"Sir please follow me, we are going to take you and your family to the bunker now."
John nodded his head and followed the general out the door.
