《Rising of the Red Tide》Chapter 11 (Part 2)

Qi Wei had managed to cut off Han Xin before he reached Clayton. Clayton had been furiously firing his bolt action sniper rifle at Xin, but had been unable to hit him, he was just too fast and had zig-zagged his way toward Clayton. Fortunately for Clayton Wei had beaten Xin to the tree he was in.
Qi Wei then began to battle with Han Xin, with each landing blows to the body. Xin of course was the best fighter of the remaining Red Tide members and he held his own against Wei. However after a series of traded punches and kicks it became clear that Qi Wei was still the better of the two. Wei managed to land a punishing blow to Han Xin's face, stunning him and then kicked his feet out from underneath him. Xin fell violently to the ground as Qi Wei pulled out his knife.
"I will end this!" Qi Wei said, but just at that moment he heard the voice of his sister.
"Look out!" was all that Wei heard. He turned around, now sensing that the attack on him was imminent. At that moment two Red Tide soldiers converged on him, throwing their fists and landing one blow to his face and the other to his chest. The force of the impact knocked Qi Wei to the ground, his face now bloodied. This only served to enrage Qi Wei. The Red Tide soldiers attempted to slice at him with their knives, but in one swift kick he knocked both knives away.
Qi Wei then leapt to his feet and proceeded with hand to hand combat with these two soldiers. Wei first blocked their attacks and then went on the offensive, landing punches and kicks, knocking those two off balance. As he moved to finish off the two that lay on the ground before him he heard both Clayton and Qi Lian loudly shout: "No!".
At first he was confused, why would they want him to stop, but the confusion left him when he felt the cold steel blade enter his back. Qi Wei had momentarily forgotten about Han Xin, and this was a costly mistake.

Qi Lian hadn't had time to buckle Martin into the car, but there certainly was no time now. She knew she had to help her brother, as he was now outnumbered. As she slammed her foot on the accelerator of the SUV she saw Qi Wei gain the upper hand with Han Xin, only to be knocked down by the other two. She steered the SUV toward the scene.
Qi Lian watched as Qi Wei got up and proceeded to gain the advantage over the two Red Tide soldiers, but in that moment she saw Han Xin get up, his face bloodied and dirty, and pull out his knife heading for Qi Wei. She shouted "No!" through the open window but it was too late. Han Xin had already stabbed his knife into the back of Qi Wei.
"Hold on tight." Qi Lian yelled to Martin as she crashed into and ran over the other two Red Tide soldiers. She managed to stop the SUV just short of the tree as she quickly jumped out of the vehicle. She ran toward Qi Wei and Han Xin, not hearing what Han Xin was saying to her brother. She watched as Xin stepped on the knife in her brother's back and saw her brother reach for something. It was a knife! He grabbed ahold of the knife and with one swift action stabbed Xin in the ankle.
Qi Lian slid next to her brother on the ground as Han Xin fell yelping in pain.
"Brother, I need to get you into the car. Can you walk?"
"Gggg go nnn now sis." Qi Wei said gasping for air.
"I will not leave you."
"GO!" Qi Wei said.
Qi Wei's head then fell to the ground. Lian reached over, she could feel that he had stopped breathing. She knew there was nothing she could do in that moment, the remaining Red Tide soldiers would soon be converging on her position. She knew she had to leave, but the thought of leaving her dying brother was unbearable. Tears began streaming down her face. For some reason she had been fully prepared for her own death, but not the death of her brother.

Lian caught movement out of the corner of her eye as she heard Clayton yell.
"Look Out Lian!"
Lian rolled away from her brother just in time to miss the stabbing action of Han Xin. She got up prepared to fight when she heard a series of gunshots.
*********************************************************************
Clayton laid in his perch furiously pulling on his bolt action while shooting his sniper rifle.
"Damn this guy is fast." He said aloud as Han Xin approached him.
After unloading some rounds, was it 4 or 5, he didn't know, Clayton had the realization that he was in a bad position. There was no way to run away from these soldiers, they were too fast and fighting them really wasn't an option either. What if he was unable to shoot his attacker?
Just then he saw another rapidly approaching man. When this one cut off Han Xin, Clayton got a close enough look to realize that this was Qi Wei.
"Thank God, this guy is on my side!" Clayton exclaimed to himself, relieved. Clayton then pulled out his hand gun, hoping to get a shot in. But in the tussle Clayton was unable to get a clear shot at Han Xin. Then just as Qi Wei got the upper hand, Clayton heard Qi Lian yell.
"Look out!".
Clayton looked down as he saw the two Red Tide soldiers attack Qi Wei. Again as these men were moving around Clayton tried to get a clear shot, but was unable to. Clayton was growing frustrated when he realized Han Xin was still alive, he looked over just in time to shout "No!".
Clayton watched the knife go into Qi Wei's back and felt angry. He swung his gun over to take a shot at Han Xin until he was startled by the SUV running over the two Red Tide soldiers on the ground. By the time he realized what was going on he saw Lian crying at Qi Wei's side. He felt remorse and guilt wash over him. But this time he hadn't forgotten about Han Xin. He saw Xin getting up and yelled to Qi Lian, "look out!"
Lian rolled out of the way just in time. Then Clayton surveyed the scene, he realized that 4 Red Tide soldiers were running toward Qi Lian. He picked up his hand gun and began firing randomly in their direction. Taking aim had become pointless at this point. One of his bullets managed to land on the thigh of one of the approaching soldiers. This caused him to fall to the ground, writhing in pain. Clayton continued firing at the other 3, but none of his bullets managed to land on the incoming soldiers.
"Clayton get in the SUV, NOW!" Qi Lian ordered.
Clayton looked down.
"I am getting too old for this kind of thing." Clayton said to himself as he jumped landing on the hood of the SUV.
As he landed his feet fell from underneath him, causing him to fall ungracefully on the hood of the vehicle. He yelped in pain, having landed on his back, but knowing the danger of the situation he immediately got up and headed for the driver seat of the car. He looked around to see how Qi Lian was doing.
She seemed to be handling herself quite well, but he could see that soon the other Red Tide soldiers would arrive. He rolled down the passenger side window and backed up the SUV, then turned it toward Qi Lian. He drove toward her, causing some of the soldiers to back away out of fear of being hit. He stopped the car right next to Lian, who kicked Han Xin away and jumped in the open window.
"DRIVE!" Lian said.
Clayton slammed the accelerator as hard as he could and the car began to speed away on the bumpy ground. It was then that he noticed Lian was bleeding.
