《Straw Masked and Pepsi stands》A really surprising linked duo
Advertisement
After having saved a young girl of barely twenty Earth years from certain death, in complete oblivion, I spoke with her for a time. I had inexplicably attached myself to this young stranger, about whom I knew absolutely nothing. But in the end, wasn't that love? This famous "love at first sight" that I have heard about so many times through my travels, the one that is not decided and happens suddenly, like that. But again, I myself wasn't 100% sure that it was, it could have just been a side effect of something. Anyway, I enjoyed listening to the few misadventures of this young girl whom I affectionately named Inomite, in reference to her sweet innocent gaze. She told me about the horrible treatment the humans of this world were subjected to. Real concentration camps, but pushed to their limits. The simple notion of torture was no longer valid at this point, it was as if a third person had been born with the sole purpose of working for some accomplishment, then would die as if it would be tools now defective. Even death was no way out, as these murderous automatons absorbed the existence of their victims as data and saved them forever in their system. Fortunately, I came in time for Inomite.
She also told me about the various places she had visited. If at least the word "visit" was adequate. Anyway, I learned more about the infrastructure that made up this place. Hangars, by the hundreds, the size of an entire village for each. They did not all have the same function either. Some were for hard work, others for the outright intensive rearing of humans, in mass. There were obviously no execution rooms, the killings were carried out directly on site, so the Cloturators had no mercy. It was a concept that was unfamiliar to them. There was, however, a mystery room, which no human had even seen in plan or in map. Even the sentinel Cloturators had never been there. This unknown place tickled my curiosity.
After having a good chat with Inomite, I got up and looked around. Helping Inomite to stand, I fixed my gaze on a massive metal door, with no grilles or gaps to see the other side. I concentrated then I suddenly opened my eyes. Activating a piercing vision, I was able to see through matter, a bit like in a simulation. The edges of each wall or obstacle were finely traced, and everyone else was in a blue strongly converging to black. All life forms or entities were automatically represented as they were, but in a color and texture that was very distinctive from the rest of what I saw. Beyond a simple X-ray vision, I had a sort of transcendent sight. This allowed me to immediately see where the Cloturators were. However, this deep sight was only active for a hundred meters, and I only saw a few Cloturators in the distance, facing a cluster of forms evidently being the poor grazing humans.
As I approached the door, I saw that it was locked with a highly sophisticated security code. I suspected that this innocent-looking lock would alert the system to these robotic demons, so I set up a ploy. Even a very simple ploy. I used the power of Pepsi Metalica to make that annoying door disappear. But my instincts warn me just in time. Rewarming my attack, I visualized more deeply the composition of the door and saw that instead of being just an armored obstacle, it was a complex camouflaged arrangement of a multitude of wires and electronic chips. Make disappear that door would instantly cut the link and it would be tantamount to warning the system of those monsters. How the hell could I pass? I can't unlock it or make it disappear. It also seemed that this vault was surrounded by an invisible and undetectable dome breaking spells and powers. I had also discovered while treating Inomite of her aphasia that she contained within her a special chip retracing all her movements and her position.

I then had an idea that I should have had earlier. Using the hacking abilities obtained through the Cloturator I had stealed, I made sure to extract this technological anomaly from Inomite's body. The work was arduous, the chip was lodged directly within the heart of my sweet, to remove it directly without precautions would mean killing her, and I could not afford it. First I partially cut off her nervous system so that she wouldn't feel the pain of the operation. I also manipulated her biology to create a passage for the flea to the outside of the body without damaging the flesh and organs in its wake. Assiduous until the end, when she came out from her left breast, I created like a protuberance, composed of the same flesh and the same DNA as Inomite. She was a little scared when she saw what I was doing to her body, but she obviously trusted me. The ball of flesh created, I molded it into a clone of Inomite's heart, in which the chip lodged. Once Inomite got rid of this thing, I created a perfect clone of her as she was when I met her. Positioning her in the same corner as before, Inomite could see what she looked like before my intervention.
>
I pat her head, signaling her not to worry, she was now freed from yet another burden. In doing so, I took her with me and took the duct through which I had previously arrived. After a while, we came to where I had to manipulate the Cloturator in order to pass. But the latter was no longer there. So I took the opportunity to go with Inomite. Seeing down on the horrors she was experiencing herself brought back bad memories to her, I could see her tight expression and her thoughts speaking out loud of leaving far away and fast. I readed her like a wide open book. Then arriving near an entrance leading to the outside, I went first to see the place. As expected, an armada of Cloturators casually patrolled this devastated landscape here and there. Without taking any risks, I motioned for Inomite to approach.
After innocently approaching, I took off my hat and swallowed her inside. At first surprised, she arrived in a dark and empty dimension, however, it was not the Lost Idyll. She was obviously scared, then she saw a light coming from behind her back, a light that she immediately turned to. In that light, she saw what I see. She had a direct glimpse of my view of the world, it was like she was right in my head, I was actually sharing my vision with her. She was already a little more serene, and she was even more so when she heard my voice. Explaining the situation to her, she de-stressed and finally understood that she was safer here than elsewhere. Now alone again, I took the lead and made sure to get out of this situation. But the task was more difficult than expected.
Steel Force from Pepsi Metalica did not work on the Cloturators. No matter how discreetly I tried, it didn't influence them at all. It wasn't a question of resistance as I could surpass them, the Cloturators just didn't seem to be made of any real metallic material or similar material, be it iron, copper, silver, gold, titanium or other. By analyzing, I saw this famous material which constituted them. The Cloturators were therefore visibly made of a material called noblithérium. Nothing metallic, nothing non-metallic either. Their constituent was not logical, it exceeded the laws of physics, even if me and logic, it's something laughable. But it amazed me that it was the same with these things. Of course, while I was in the heat of the moment, Inomite was receiving the same information and increasing his knowledge. Everyone was learning from it. But I still wasn't out of trouble.

It seemed logical that with my current powers, such as interdimensional travel or my Pepsi stands, an escape would quick be over. But my instinct had warned me. I had been hunted since I arrived in this world. Not by a Cloturator, it was much bigger and much more dangerous, and this thing could follow me wherever I went. I didn't know what it was, so I was on my guard. I didn't take my head any further with that though and continued my escape. Slaloming between the Cloturators by means of synchronized mind controls, I was able to quickly reach where I had appeared in this world, away from all this sickening commotion. I then released Inomite from my straw hat and asked her how she was, to which she responded favorably. Now far with that girl that had cracked me, I was finally able to extricate myself from this quagmire. I still had this resentment, that of being for the first time the prey of a being whose identity or intentions I did not even know, but having no other alternative, I chose to open a portal in order to leave this barbaric world, always aware that I was not really out of the business.
However, despite this destabilizing aura that I had felt in this abrupt place, I was not worried during my escape. I didn't even have that feeling of being chased by who knows what anymore. Not depriving myself of this recovered moment of respite, I therefore continued my trip as if nothing had happened. I had lived a very astonish and strange stay in these lands blackened by sorrow and darkness. For example, I had met Inomite, a very beautiful creature on whom my affections were undeniably placed. I had also obtained new abilities, but that was only an annex to what Inomite brought me. From that day on, she accompanied me on my epic, in search of why I exist and I am. At times, I thought about Inomite being annoyed that she had to go with me all the time, but she was actually happy to be able to escort me wherever I went. I was after all his savior, the one who had saved her from death and had made her regain her taste for life.
From time to time, I also took her to the Lost Idyll. She who only lived in insanitary and disreputable sheds all her life, seeing so many different landscapes filled her with joy. In the Lost Idyll, this was even better given that the color contrasts between galaxies, nebulae and other celestial bodies could not be found anywhere else. It was my trademark, my home, or at least I should say our home including Inomite, who did not hide his amazement. Obviously, Inomite had, in my presence and my company, acquired some peculiarities. She had become indifferent to the vacuum of space, including the absence of oxygen and extreme temperatures ranging from Absolute Zero to several tens of millions of degrees. His intelligence and knowledge were also growing. His knowledge was fabulous, and I was delighted to be able to teach her more over time.
However, the most surprising was the acquisition of skills and especially Soda-powers. Besides the fact that she was getting stronger and stronger to the point of having developed skills, she did not have Natural Talents but Soda-powers. It delighted me at the highest point, I felt really very close to her, much more than before. Over the years, I taught her the art of war. I taught her how to fight, teaching her a hundred different martial arts from the various worlds I had visited. None, absolutely none, was a problem for her. She learned them with unbelievable dexterity and speed. Certainly, certain arts gave her more difficulty, but she retained them all without exception. Curious about such a rise, I looked at her data at times.

I saw with admiration that the one I had found so frail had become a strong fighter. One of her Soda-powers gave me hope for something, but I didn't know what. Maybe it was too early for me to fully understand the extent of what I was feeling. As for the other Soda-power, it showed that she was diligent in her work. However, something disturbed me. I named her "Inomite", but I didn't know where this "Kami" came from. It was surely something of little importance. In doing so, we continued to travel here and there worlds in order to know more and more. Inomite was now aware of my existential quest, and she was helping me with joy in my search for answers. But the latter were as always desired. It had been several hundred years since I and Inomite had crossed paths, but his cycle of old age had most likely stopped around her 25th year of life. She was 25 years old forever, I was no longer afraid of losing her by the passage of time, it was a kind of relief deep inside me.
But, although our life as a duo was most enjoyable, I always had this bitter thought in spite of myself, that of being tracked wherever I go. It had certainly been centuries since I had felt the aura of this thing that had worried me so much, but that feeling never really left me. Anyway, I preferred all this time to enjoy Inomite and the moments spent with her. But I knew it. Sooner or later the source of my buried fear would resurface, and strangely, when I was least prepared for it. It was a certainty, and I did not want to confuse the mind of Inomite who is doing so well in this carefree that befits her so much. I had to be ready. Everywhere. Whenever. No matter how.

Author's Thoughts: What is litRPG (From wikipedia) - LitRPG, short for Literary Role Playing Game, is a literary genre combining the conventions of MMORPGs with science-fiction fantasy novels.[1] LitRPG is a literary genre where games or game-like challenges form an essential part of the story. A LitRPG work simultaneously narrates the story of characters inside and outside of the game-world. At least some of the characters in a LitRPG novel therefore understand that they are playing a game: they are 'meta-aware'. So, while Tolkien's Lord of the Rings is a fantasy novel, a book about people creating avatars and interacting in a Lord of the Rings MMORPG would be a LitRPG novel. Why do I read them? You know, I am not too sure. I love MMOs. I played them, quit them, joined up and repeated the cycle. They are fun! They are a massive waste of time but so are most games. Do I want to read about someone else playing them? Sort of?The advent of VR and the possibility of VR someday becoming so immersive that you can't tell them from reality sets the imagination on fire. What if this could be life? But most stories fall short. At the end of the day the protagonist hangs up his VR helmet and goes to have dinner with his mom and dad or other family and it becomes meaningless. It's like the story that ends because the main character woke up and nothing you read matters. There have been some books that explore the concept of the intersection of reality and total immersion VR. Enders Game is a classic. There were a few others that escape me but they exist, however, the cross between the game and reality is weak.So what if the game was real? The technology needed for total immersion VR is so advanced that by the time we reach that goal technology should have naturally evolved to include several items. You must have direct neural input. You simply can't have a total immersion (all senses and perfect presence) experience without this basic prerequisite. If you have direct neural access, you can probably do neat things like feed knowledge and skills directly to that person. You can undoubtedly do many horrible things as well. Muscles are controlled by the brain. If you control the brain why would you let the body just sit there and rot? A person that sits unmoving for 24 hours a day will have their body whither away just like a coma patient. However, if you control the brain you could control the muscles. On a basic level, this would be isometric impulses, working muscle group against muscle group to avoid atrophy. Taken to its logical conclusion you would be able to gain muscle mass and program muscle memory. The flip side is that you could remote control their body... but let's not go there. So what would people do if it were real? Well, they would probably limit and regulate it since the drawbacks are very obvious. Even if you look at the basic aspects of this you can see some negative possibilities. Look at the Sword Art Online anime. Personally, I think they missed the boat by putting a bomb in the VR helmet. Do you really need a bomb when you have direct access to the brain? So what kind of events would you need to have a situation where the obvious drawbacks haven't been explored? Maybe a society where the advancement of technology has so far outstripped the explorations of its applications that ignorance was truly bliss? Okay, so I had to put in an alien invasion to kickstart the premise, but that was just one of the possibilities.
