《Ancestral World: Memorial Clouds》Chapter 17

Riki and I shouted our frustration out for no reason. I too wondered to myself on why I did that for. It was a mystery to me but it felt like something I wanted to do at that moment. We both looked at each other with dead serious eyes.
A small wind passed by us as the coldness from spring was rising. Some of the leaves got carried by the wind while some stayed on the ground. A leaf had passed by our view on each other and the moment it went away...we both grinned and took our fighting stance.
I backed away from him and summoned out three rods to Riki. He immediately used and the rods disappeared as expected.
I had to use a different strategy. I could make him come close to me and the moment he is going to hit me, I instantly summon the rods to strike him but the main issue was his speed and my timing.
"KEEP AVOIDING ME! HA! THEN I'LL GO EVEN MORE FASTER FOR YOUR SORRY ASS!!!"
"How great and genrous of you, Master Riki." I said sarcastically while getting annoyed. I kept avoiding him non-stop because I had no idea how to defeat him.
"THE HELL YOU SAY TO ME, YOU SHITTY RUNT!?!?!" Riki became extremely mad from hearing that while his left eye was twitching.
Riki really did became faster and it was too fast to the point it was like someone trying to take a photo of a lightning. He instantly elbowed my neck and forcefully pulled my head towards his knee. The moment he let go of my head, I lost my balance and was falling down.
When I was going to fall down onto the ground, he kicked my back upwards to make me fly up for a bit. He then spun around in high speed to the point he generated high heat and the moment I fell down and was in range of his kick, he kicked my jaw with the impact of a damn speeding truck. I flew back quite far with my nose bleeding and a dislocated jaw.

"OI! YOU STUCK UP PIECE OF SHIT! I HEARD THAT YOU'RE ALL STRONG AND UNBEATABLE AND WHATEVER!!! LOOKING AT YOU RIGHT NOW IS THE MOST DISAPPOINTING THING I'VE EVER SEEN!!!"
I couldn't talk at all. What did I expect from a dislocated jaw of mine. I tried to remember how to relocate my jaw but it was getting even more and more painful as I tried to relocate it back.
Riki was just standing there getting annoyed from my attempt on relocating my jaw back. He started stomping towards me and instantly relocate my jaw back. I was surprised. Didn't he want to kill me? Didn't he want to fight with me? Why did he relocate my jaw back? All these questions came flowing into my head as I was in awe.
I moved my jaw around as I stood up.
"GOD...DAMN IT!!! AREN'T YOU STRONG!?! WHY ARE YOU THIS WEAK!?! ARE YOU HIDING SHIT FROM ME!?!"
"Oh shut up, will you? I will defeat you in my own pacing...so for now...I'll say this...."
"HA!?!"
"No matter how beaten up I am or how powerful you are....I will defeat you in any circumstances!"
"HO! I SEE! I SEE! THEN I'LL SEE WHETHER YOU CAN REALLY DEFEAT ME OR NOT!!!" Riki shouted as he was already closing the distance between us.
"I shall not let anyone destroy the peaceful life that I have finally created!"
My throat was very dry from the shouting. I ran towards Riki having my sight focused on him only until I was distracted as my eyes shifted to Rika's fight. She was struggling with Asvolt. I thought that Rika would be fine but she was clearly in trouble. She had blood all over her right hand as her legs were weakened from the multiple cut wounds.

Before I knew it, my face got kneed by Riki and my liver area was kicked. I was knocked back and rolled around. At that moment, self-doubt had entered my mind. I laid down there looking at the clear sky with clouds passing by. The sun shined onto my eyes. It was too bright for me. I closed my eyes so it wouldn't hurt that much.
I didn't move an inch at all. I just laid there feeling hopeless instead of having confidence.
I suddenly remembered what my mother told me back then. She always repeat the same advice to me over and over again.
"Always...stick to your true identity......." I whispered the advice that my mother told me. To this day, I still did not understand what she meant by that.
"I really don't know....I really don't know what to do....I don't know what that advice is suppose to mean, Mom....." I kept asking myself. I wanted to confirm things with her but she is no longer in this world anymore...
"//// I- //// il- //// you- ed- //// w- //// a- e- up ////"
That distorted voice appeared in my head and said something weird again. The only thing I heard was someone tried to say something but most of the words were cut off. I couldn't recognize the voice at all. My body...it felt cold for some reason.
I did not receive any lethal damage to my body but for some reason....I felt weird.
It felt like my body was floating in the air.....as if I felt lighter.
My eyelids became extremely heavy. I wanted to close my eyes but I did not want to close my eyes at the same time.
My body felt like it kept sanking down deep into the sea with the coldness in me.
Maybe....
Maybe......
Maybe......I died......?

Unprotected Sects
When freshly-graduated Dr. Selva Imroth accepted a short job from her former doktormutter, she had expected to interview a few PhD washouts and write a report to the Dean. Unfortunately for Selva, everything in her life has to be an ordeal. Updates every weekday, but not on the weekend. I hadn't planned on doing NaNoWriMo, but then on Halloween night I was sharing an old plot bunny with a new friend and realized, "oh shit I can actually use this." So, here we are. Thanks, friend. In true NaNoWriMo fashion, I will not be using my typical editing process here, and will instead simply vomit words onto your screen as quickly as possible, trying valiantly to avoid asking myself "oh my god who CARES" because tangents are important to wordcount.
