《Soul of the Fallen》Prologue:A Visitor

Far from your path you are indeed, my visitor, to have found your way here. Tell me, what is it that ails you? Forward lies the gates to worlds beyond worlds, if that is where you wish to go. If it is not then, stay, as my guest, I would share my story.
Look down to the clouds below your feet, you shall see a land. A land of great riches and magic, of gods and dragons. A land with the wings of a phoenix and the warmth of it's touch, a fireplace in a world ever shrouded by the freezing shadows. A land which once knew an empire that had ruled for many a thousand years. Or so the books would tell you. Do not believe them, my friend. History is a set of lies agreed upon, and never before have I seen one so large and obvious.
This land which you see was once called the Seven Skies, in which men lived lives much like your own. See the sprawling forests of green and brown that branch lands several days a ride's distance. See the mountains that tower high above to touch the sky. See the chasms that dig deep into the earth, drilling down to the darkness without end. The Seven Skies was once such a land, what it has become now, I do not know. Perhaps I may never know.
Yet I know what it was once, and I may tell you now. It has been long since I crossed the void between worlds, journeying from my own to another. Do not be afraid, I remember every detail. There are certain things a man can never forget. I was a young man then. Be assured that even if I may look the part, I am no young man now.

Strange how fast time passes, all without me knowing. Upon a week of my arrival I was a lord. By the end of the year, I was a king. Soon after, I would become general, and then emperor.
Perhaps I should introduce myself, I see that you do not know my face. I am Leon Marshall, scourge of the earth, death of the heavens, and slayer of gods. Perhaps you have yet to hear my tale. It was I who conquered the nine hells to reclaim the soul of the fallen. It was I who seized the crown of the Empire that ruled for eternity. It was I who fought with the Skylords themselves, and drove the Coalition of the north across the great sea. It may be that I have perished young, but what does it matter? To live without leaving a trace of my existence is to not have lived at all. Come, hear my tale. See the life of the Unequaled himself, and the legacy that shall live for eternity.

Under a Boundless Sky
If you were to ask someone what they thought of Revian Snow, they would say that she's small. Cute too. Doesn't talk much. Average grades, and hard to find in a crowd, though you'd think that someone with her looks would be more noticeable. She also plays the popular VRMMO's for some reason, but doesn't like to interact with others too much, even online. In short, she doesn't stand out too much. She likes it that way—After all, it's much easier to keep a secret when nobody's looking for one. If you enjoy my work, please consider supporting me on Patreon. Here's a fact about humans: They are intelligent, versatile creatures with a tendency for murder and vice. Zeta, a swordsman from a villa at the summit of Greenwich Mountain, has heard many stories about the "Sigma World," the colloquial term for any and all things superpowered in the world. He's also heard of the many tragedies, as well as the many wonders humankind has created in its history, even if he has yet to see it in person. Following the philosophy of his teacher, Gin Kagan, Zeta intends to become a "Servant of Humanity," in an endeavor to protect mankind from its gravest threats, from power-hungry sigma-users, but most importantly, from itself. He's going to need a lot of allies to pull that off, even if he doesn't understand that just yet. This story is originally published at www.sigmacentral.wordpress.com.
