Dear Trainees,
Villains are always seen as one that causes harm to others or society to achieve a sort of benefit. They either aim to conquer the world, rob the bank, or even kill others. Many are labeled as psychopaths, crazy, or even weird. However, the reason the villains commit the crime they have are all due to reasons. If everyone is satisfied and content with their lives, there will be no crimes ever. However, Humans are selfish, greedy, and ones that try to improve. As people grow older, they desire more. As a young child myself, I always look for small benefits. I want Ice Cream, or go to the park and have fun. However, as I grow up, I desire things like games, money, and relationship. The older I get, the more benefits I want and the harder it is to achieve.
Everyone does a thing for their own benefits. You may argue that it is for the sake of another, but deep down, it’s to satisfy yourself. Take charity for example. Charity is made to raise money and give it to the poor. Now, what do I think is the real reason for charity? It’s for the donators to get a sense of self-satisfaction. The donators live a better life than many others. Thus, they feel superior. They give the money to poorer people to help them have a better life and be grateful to you. Who doesn’t like to hear praises? “Thank You, Mr. ‘Insert Your Name Here’ for donating five hundred dollars!” Hearing this, most people will be felt with pride and brag about it. As a student, getting As in all your class and getting an award is something to be proud of and brag about. However, everyone tries to hide their failure. People go around sharing their achievements, but you don’t hear about people going around bragging about failing. The reason is simple, people like the sense of superiority.

Charity is similar to heroes. Why do heroes go around and save people? This is because they want to receive the praise and be admired by others. They are actually villains that believe they’re doing things for the greater good of the world. The truth is they are doing it to satisfy themselves. You don’t see heroes go around saving those stronger or better than themselves. Well first of all, if they’re stronger than you, there’s no point of you going. Second of all, they are people with emotions as well. The thought of possibly dying to save someone else requires a huge resolution.
Many people have goals but always abandons it. Why? They compare their goals toward their personal benefit. If the personal benefit outweighs the goal, they will not complete it. If you were a doctor, and you had two patients. One was your friend for twenty years and another was a complete stranger, which one would you choose? 90% of you will choose your friend due to personal interest. However, if the stranger offers you one billion dollars, people will hesitate. They will weigh the value of friendship with money. Thus, the one with more importance will be chosen.
Why do heroes always protect the place they grew up or born. Why not send Spider-Man to protect Canada or Iron-Man to protect Iraq? It’s because they don’t have any connections to those places. Heroes are just people that do not see how everything is done is to benefit themselves. Either it is to make them feel better, make up for their past mistakes, or even the happiness they feel from helping others. All of these are for selfish reasons. The actions they cause will help one group know as the victims and blame it on the so-called villains.

Villains are just the same. However, they are a lot better than heroes. They know exactly what they want. I want money; thus, I rob the bank. I want power; thus, I try to take over the world. These Villains are conscious of their decisions and who is benefitting from their actions. Let’s say a Villain took over the world. Is he still a Villain to others? No, he becomes a king. If a Villain is successful in robbing a bank, and he escapes to never be caught. Is he still a Robber? No, he just becomes a rich man somewhere no one can find him and live a better life than he did before. In the eyes of society’s villains, the heroes are villains. They are the one stopping villains from achieving their goals and dreams.
However, what does this mean? It is all according to perspective. The perspective of the winner always influences the majority and sways it to the winner’s side. However, we now come down to the most important question. What separates a Villain from a successful one? If everyone in the world is a villain, why do I personally feel there are so few successful villains? There are many people out there trying to get rich and became rich. There are many people trying to get famous and did become famous. However, why aren’t they successful?
Two reasons. One is because they don’t realize they are villains. If you can’t even recognize yourself as a villain, how can you be considered a successful one? They still think they are doing it righteously and it is fine with what they do. A successful villain understands that to get to where they are, they must harm someone else. The second reason for a villain to be successful is to be proud of it. After knowing that I harmed others to get to the position I am at, I feel proud. I follow my goals and morals. I believe in them and it is hard to make me change. It is possible for me to change my goals. However, I will always try my best to achieve them. I will harm people, intentionally or unintentionally, to get to my goals.
After reading this, I hope everyone understands that you are not as nice as you think you are. You can help all the people in the world, but mainly it is for your own benefits. Helping one person will always cause another one harm. There is no need to feel any guilt or shame. This is just my idea of how the world works.
I will discuss more about my personal experience in the future,
Sincerely, J
