Bottomless Earth is a new Vr game that is skyrocketing in popularity. Its Slogan “No matter how deep you go the paths are endless” millions of player dive into a fantasy world divided into 4 Nations, The kingdom of Alcod where the Unique humans prosper, The land of machines ruled over by the dwarven king, The land of the plentiful guarded by elves. Last but not least the wasteland where the Unneeded of every race is exiled too, ruled by no king but by gangs that divided the area. Each area had a unique thing too that made the races on equal standing, with the new introduction of the players to their world the scales began to tip, it is not known which race will fall or if each will live together in Harmony.
”Might as well give it a try”
A boy with black hair and dark blue eyes sat looking at his monitor as the boy began to stand up. His Features became more clear; he was around 5,7 with a skinny built body. As he went to grab the headset resting on the side of his bed there was a knocking on the door.
“Shin it's time for dinner”
“Okay Clara”.
*All just play this when I get back.*
(30 minutes later)
“Finally I thought that would never end.”
Lying in bed and putting on the Vr helmet, blue and red lights flash
“Why'd they have to make the lights so bright?”
“Good afternoon new player, how may I help you?”
“Who said that?”
*looking around i can't see anyone.*
“Look down a little more!”
*There was a small raccoon with a white suit standing in front of me.*
“Good evening, I'm one of the many GMs in this wonderful world. I'm here to help you get started in your bottomless adventure.”
“Oh hello, I didn't expect to be greeted by anyone when I logged in my name shin.”
“oh a friendly person we don't get too many of these these days”
as he tipped his hat to me and said “ my name is mammoth but you may call me Tusk it's what the other Gms call me”
“Oh thank you Tusk, is there anything I should know about the game before joining?”
“oh yes back on topic”
snapping his small fingers the dark became a wooden box with a merroir and a book. As I looked again Tusk was behind the book writing.
“Please go to the merroir and customize your avatar.”
As I looked into the mirror I was in all black clothing and all my features were just as they would be in real life.”
“Um Tusk, do I have to change the way I look?”
“I would say you should but if that's really how you wanna look there's nothing against it but depending on your race you will develop their features.”
“okay all just keep how i look thanks though”
“Alright, come and input your name and what race you would like to join and please think carefully on this. It is very important to this world and its residences.”
“ Is there a way I can get a random nation to join? I don't really like picking sides…”
Tusk looked rather surprised with that remark.
“ Well there is no function for that but how about I choose for you?”
“That seems interesting go for it”
“Okay all done put your hand on the book and say [Ascuban]”
“Well thanks for all your help Tusk all be seeing you okay?”

“Yes, as too you shine good luck on your bottomless adventure.”
He tips his one last time [Ascuban]
“And off I go.”
A white light blinded me as fast as I was there and I was gone. When my vision returned I was in the middle of the woods in front of a broken down cabin as I walked up to it a notification apperd.
“Sorry I forgot to tell you how to open your status window oops on my part, just look anywhere and think about opening your status and it should open a blue looking window well that's all good luck
-Tusk”
*Hmm i guess all try [open status].*
A light blue screen popped up. It was a little transparent but not enough to see completely through, the layout was rather familiar like any other mmo game the gear I was wearing with a small avatar turns out Tusk kept me as a human, next to it was my status strength power ect. I didn't look at it as much because it doesn't matter to me. I kinda just wanted to have fun playing the game instead of being the strongest. Below the status was my skills mostly just the basics like language translation, magic and identification. So nothing outta the ordinary. Below the skills was a 100 by 5 squares which I believe to be my inventory.
“Huh weird this feels way too natural like i grew up with this.”
That doesn't really Bother me though I did grow up playing all kinds of rpg and mmo games. Remembering that I was walking into a cabin before I got the message from Tusk I closed the window and to my surprise there was a bag lying against the door. Nothing too weird this is a game but I still Approached the bag with caution. Even though it's a game getting the death prenatal right off the bat. Not being able to log in for 24 hours would really be a bad start opening up the bag. There was a small water bottle, a map of what looked to be the surrounding area and a poorly made dagger as well as some weird looking meat with closer inspection the meat had the item name [Monster meat].
*It really doesn't sound very good. I hope I can find something better down the road.*
Putting all of this in my new found inventory and equipping the poorly made dagger I was ready to move into the broken looking cabin. As I moved into it was very poorly lit and had little to no light. There was wood from the broken roof everywhere but there was nothing in there really. I don't know why it would be put into a broken down shack instead of the capital of my nation. Realizing that I never really look at the map I pulled it from my inventory and started looking for what nation i was put into in the first place turns out the reason I wasn't put into a capital was I was in the wasteland this must have been someone's old hideout or something as I study the map there was two places I could go to it was ether the small town to the west or what looked like a village next to a river. It started to get dark so I decided to stay there until morning and decide when I got up the next morning.
I still have no idea how the whole sleeping thing happens in online games but when I woke up it was morning. Before sleeping last night I decided to walk towards the village next to the river. As I moved through the dense woods towards the town I could hear sticks and leaves breaking around me but I couldn't see anyone. I pulled out the dagger and kept walking as I got closer to the village the sounds became quieter and slowly went away when I got into the village there were guards posted next to a gate but they asked no questions as I walked into the village looking around I can see small gardens and what looks like a inn as well as a big building with a sword and shield on the sign.

* I'm guessing that's the adventures guild.*
I have no money for the inn as of now so I might as well go into the adventurers guild there doesn't seem to be to many people walking in and out maybe everyones out on missions for the day as I walk through the large steel door I see only one person a solo man sitting at a table in the far back drinking from a small iron cup. As I walk up to the front desk a person from the back shouts
“all will be there in a second!”
A girl with long blond hair and two large wolf ears walks from the back, her tail moving back and forth like a dog when it's excited.
“so what can I do for you today”
“oh i'm looking to join the adventurers guild and get some info on where i am”
“oh we don't get very many people like you anymore, one second let me go and grab the paper work.”
Looking around while she's gone there doesn't seem to be much to the building besides a few tables and chairs scattered around as well as stairs that lead up to a large box building above the reception desk.
”Here we are.”
The wolf eared girl brought a small piece of paper and what looked like an old school pen.
“i'm going to need you to fill out this paper and give it back to me so i can make your id you can go to one of the table just call for me when your done”
she never gave me her name I cant as well call her wolf girl that would be plain rude “miss what should i call you”
“ jeez i never did tell you my name have I im not used to having a new person here, well you can call me lucy”
“Okay Lucy, all call for you when I finish.”
When I sat down at the table you could tell the tables and chairs havent been used in ages there was a loud creak as I sat down the paperwork wasn't that hard just a few simple question like what's your name, race but the one that really caught my eye was Skill I was never told what skills I have I guess all have to ask lucy.
“Lucy, I have a question.”
“Yes what is it, wait before that i never got your name.”
“oh yea how rude of me just call me shin”
“Okay Shin, what's your question?”
“ it might sound stupid but how do i see my skills?”
“Damn that was another mistake on my part one second”
As she came back she was holding another piece of paper but this time the paper looked brand new, she handed it to me.
“ Okay with this you have to write down a maximum of 10 skills that you would want then you gain them but this only works once so make sure you want thoughts”
“there is other ways to gain skill or upgrade them but this is how you will get your starting skills”
“ that's a weird way of doing it”
“Well this is how the world works. I don't know much about the players' world but I know that Ares is a little different from yours.”
The way she worded it makes me think that there's more to this world than what they're telling us but that has nothing to do with me. I just wanna have fun and make this life something I can be proud of.
“Okay then Lucy all be right back after I fill out all the info”
“okay make sure you choose carefully you’ll be stuck with these skills and tell you can gain new ones”
“Okay all, put some real thought into them, thanks.”
As I went to sit down I looked around the room. The man that was sitting in the back is gone. He must have got up and left, let's take a look at the skills I can get as I look at the paper there's nothing there no selection of what's available at the top it just says.
(Please correct what skills you would like.)
I sat there for awhile it started to get dark all that I could come up with was Taming, magic control and magic elements but i can't think of anything else
“hey shin how it coming along with your skills still thinking”
“yea lucy i can't come up with any, all i have is taming, magic control and magic elements, do you have any ideas?”
“ hmm well you're gonna need a main fighting skill so something like sword ,bow ,dagger something along those lines.”
“I think all go with sword mastery”
“hmm iv never seen someone put mastery in the beginning i don't know what your skill will turn out like”
“well no time like the present but i still don't know what to put for the rest”
“well you can stay as long as you like”
“thanks Lucy.”
Hmm I still don't know what skills I should get. What about [alchemy] seems like it could be fun to pick up a second dairy as well maybe [martial arts] maybe [forging] as well. It looks like I'm going for a more crafting type. So let's put in [enchanting], [farsight] hm last one what should it be [Engineering].
*I don't know how these will be useful to me but all make the best of it.*
By the time I finished writing in my skill it was late in the night. Lucy said I could just spend the night in the room in the back. At first I said no I would go find an inn but she insisted and I slept in the back room of the guild.
The next day when I woke up I found my way back out to the big open room with the chairs and tables. There still weren't too many people. There was a man in the back drinking and a few more people sitting at tables eating looking over at the guilds main table lucys waving me down so I decided to walk over.
“ Sorry you had to sleep in the back.”
“ Ah, it's alright thanks for letting me stay here late to finish everything.”
“ I don't mind, it's what I'm here for. All go grab your guild card and you can be on your way.”
She turned around and headed farther in the back only to come back a few mins later with a small gray card in hand.
“Well here you go, make sure to come back and take the quest you will gain various rewards based on the quest. Your ID can also be used to enter different countries as well as some low level dungeons. so make sure to keep it safe.”
“Thank you lucky ass, be sure to keep it safe, all see you next time.”
Turning around and walking out the door the sun was a little blinding looking around. I could really see how small this town really was instead of taking a quest right off the bat. I think I'm gonna look into my skills a little bit more.

8 218Dragonfall
This fiction is based on a short story I wrote inspired by a prompt on r/WritingPrompts. Contrary to my plans, I haven't sketched out the story in detail or written anything ahead of time. I've discovered I don't do well at that. I'm just writing this thing and we'll see where it takes us, OK? Nothing every came easy to Ryan Shakespeare, but as an elite British Army sniper he had found a niche that suited him, right up to the point at which he found himself summoned to a world far from his own to fulfil the job of a champion. Luckily, Ryan arrived with his experimental sniper rifle, so surely killing the dragon and getting his chance to go home would be a simple job, right? But Ryan should have known better, because nothing ever comes easy. Caught up in the politics of the Draconic League, Ryan will need to keep all his wits about him and use every resource at his disposal if he's going to persuade these people to let him do his job and go home.
8 109Warrior's Oath
What did the past forget and what had history remembered? Witness the memorable stories of three ancient warriors from distant lands: Norway, Japan and France. Connected by fate spinning webs that tie to many other kingdoms, controlled by a god lurking in the shadows. An 11th-century tale of truths and lies, the misdeeds of humans. A viking from the north guilty of sins swore an oath to live. A samurai from the east hungry for revenge swore an oath to kill. A knight from the west desiring strength swore an oath to protect. Answer me this, not as a feeble mortal but a disciple of war whose fame is immortal. Are you brave enough to swear the warrior’s oath?
