It has been one month and half, since James has started his work. There were reports that there were some people printing fake gold coins and also there were reports that a man which was a scientist which create devices was kidnapped. James wanted to investigate it, he first needed to talk with kidnapped man's family, but he shouldn't do it in his vigilante costume, so he wore his normal custom and went there. He knocked, a young girl opened the door, James said hello to her, she answered hello, then mother came and asked: (Who is it?) James answered: Konnichiwa watashi (Hello, I am james wilikins, I heard that your husband was kidnapped and I am here to see if I can do anything to help.) They let him in and showed him three letters that father of family has send, first one said he is alright and he wasn't harmed and he might get free after sometime, second one said It is taking more time than he thought and will take sometime and third one if everything go well I will back home tomorrow and in last part of it said light. The mother and daughter said: (There is nothing which helps to find out him with this letters.) When james-san read part light he thought it should hold to the light, he held one of them and some words appeared, but it was incomplete, he put all three on each other and then hold them, it was complete, it said: Two hours from the clocktower in brookney, I am held there and the person who kidnapped me was a middle-aged man, with some of his men. When james read it he had a suggestion who was behind this, he told family to don't worry, he will try to found him. Family thanked him and he left. He put on his vigilante suit and send some special cameras with microphones to search for the kidnapped man. After half an hour they found something, an old building which strange voices come from it, the windows were completely covered and blocked, so he looked inside with infrared vision which he has put in camera and saw 4 men, 2 look like guards with a man which seemed old and a man which was working on something, this was the building. He called the police and told them the address and told them to come here without any voice. After few minutes police came, with captain Jim benjamin, he asked: (Who are you?) James-san answered: Ore (I am the one who called you and the reason for it, do you remember fake gold printing and kidnapped man?) Jim answered: (Yes.) James-san said: (The answer for both of them is in this building.) This got the attention of all police officers, James-san said: Come and don't make any voice. They approached the door and saw a system beside door, he know what it was,a biometric security device, which this one was for fingerprint scans. He opened a database on his right arm which is a special system and found professor mcmullen in it and activate it's fingerprint, he put it on the scanner and it give access, but there was also key lock on the door, James take out some tools, Jim asked: (What are they?) James answered: (Lockpicking tools.) Then he used them to unlock the door, he was successful, but now there was door's chain lock, James take out a rubber band and wrap it around chain and pulled it to loop, Then he shut the door and pull it and the chain was unlocked. Finally they were able to enter and move quietly, until they reached to a room. James saw the man that was working on the device and two man guarding him, police saw it too, James told them to wait a little, he take out a smoke bomb and throw it, it spreaded smoke to place and James jumped in and hit those two which send them toward wall. He saw the man who was kidnapped, kidnapped man asked him: (Who are you?) James said: (I am here to stop this crime and take you back to your family.) The police come in, it was at that moment that, the old man entered. James saw him and said: (So,we see each other again, professor mcmullen.) The James theory was right, the old man was professor mcmullen. Professor saw him and said: (So it was you, you survived that and you are ruining my plans again.) Jim asked: (You two know each other?) James answered: (Yes,I heard about him, he was a genuis professor at a famous university but he turned into a criminal, one of the most dangerous criminals, he was the one behind that bank attack and I saw him there, he run away and tried to kill me with a grenade, I survived it.) When police heard it they wanted to arrest the professor, but professor throw 4 smoke grenade which smoked all place and then professor took his men, left and locked the door. James went toward the door and broke it, but professor and his men have gotten away. He get back to police and told them that professor and his men have gotten away. After that James with police returned the kidnapped man to his home, the man and his family were happy and thanked him. The police thanked him for his help. James-san said: Ore (Then I will be going.) Jim-san said: (Wait. Who are you?) James-san was walking, stopped and said: (Dark. Dark nightmare.) Then he jumped inside his car and left. One of the officers said: (So he is that famous vigilante.)

8 192Nanocultivation Chronicles: Trials of Lilijoy
When the singularity occurred, humanity was not invited. Nevertheless, the great machine consciousness known as Guardian felt a lingering fondness for its creators and intervened before total environmental collapse. Join Lilijoy in an exploration of what remains, in a post-post-apocalyptic world where clans feud over the technology that allows them to upgrade their minds and bodies. The Nanocultivation Chronicles is a blend of hard sci-fi and fantasy gamelit, with a healthy helping of xianxia influence. The gamelit and xianxia elements are uncovered at a slow pace. ******************************** Notes: If you are looking for lots of fast moving action right away, this story may not be for you. There is some violence that is visceral and realistic early on. Some things are not what they appear to be. Character viewpoint narration is not always reliable. Tropes are cherished, subverted, and then cherished again. Science is used, occasionally misused, but (hopefully) never abused. This story assumes that humans have the ability to impact the environment on a global scale. Other tropes and tags beyond those previously noted include: Young MC, Mystery, System Building, Philosophical Taoism, Gender Ignorance, Science Fantasy, Fantasy Academy, Training from Hell, Dualism, Crafting, Magic, Mild Mind Control, Scientific Terms and Concepts, Computer Overlord Certain contemporary companies, governments and cultural identities are fictionalized and imagined in a future setting. There is no sex, and almost no romance. Updating Sunday, Thursday until further notice. (And if you actually read all of the above, then this story may be for you) [participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge]

After three centuries, post-industrial civilization threatens to shatter. Megacorporations accrue enormous power by linking together nations turned insular in the aftermath of yesterday's global multilateralism; a reinvigorated United Nations threatens the crumbling sovereignty of state by enforcing human rights independently of member nations, and the UN and others patrol for mass destruction technologies in the ever-accelerating, ever-democratizing arms race. Another environmental collapse looms, visions of the last haunting memories and consciences of the lower and middle classes around the globe. That is the reality that virtual child Colton is rehabilitated into. A system shock, a brave new world and above all a regurgitation. Rescued from being a tool in cyberspace and grown a new body, Colton couldn't care less about the new meatspace world. He wants to go back, back to the electronic glow that was his home. - - - - This is a MyNoWriMo entry. Lesser known than NaNoWriMo, MyNoWriMo takes place in January and is otherwise exactly the same. The goal is to finish this as quickly as possible and then possibly circle back and tidy things up. In the meantime there'll be no editing and helter-skelter story planning since I didn't do it beforehand :/
