《Deity's Fragments [Paused]》Chapter 28 - Leaving

*** Moon Palace ***
A dark figure was sitting on a throne in front of a large number of people. These people were divided into two rows, and in the center were three people kneeling before the person on the throne.
"You were entrusted to bring the children, Peter, so can you explain to me why I don't see them here?" said the dark figure.
Swallowing saliva and a little nervously, Peter said. "They ran away, sir; their mother held me back while they ran."
One person in the crowd protested and said. "Surely you made them run away, or what reason would they have to run? It's a blessing for anyone to join our family; answer for your actions."
The girl in the group was uncomfortable with how this person spoke, but there was nothing she could do, it was confirmed that Peter was the one who incited the enmity between them, but she still protested.
"Don't blame Peter without knowing what happened. The boy refused to join our family, and Peter put him in his place, or does a commoner have the right to refuse to join ours? It would be an honor if they could join."
The dark figure watched the discussion going on, and it intensified as more people joined the conversation.
"Enough" When this one spoke, all the noise in the room went away and went back to how it was before.
Red eyes showed in that dark figure, and coming out of the darkness, a blond man with reddish eyes and pale white complexion with long hair could be seen.
"I understand that they refuse, and you guys are protesting, but that is not enough for them to escape. What are you not telling me?"
The group began to sweat. There was no way they would tell their leader that Zack's sister had had a genetic awakening, and they couldn't bring her in.
"Since you don't want to tell me, I'll do it myself" He walked over to the girl and, lifting her cheek, looked her in the eyes as she paled a little.

The leader's face changed. "How could that boy have such power just being in the first dimension?"
Dropping her, a group of people approached the girl and took her to a place to rest. Mind reading put a significant burden on the bodies it was applied to.
"This is an order, to all members of the Moon family of the first dimension, bring those children here" He walked outside the castle and exited through a large gate.
'Even your grandchildren have great talent, brother, but you can't take them away; they belong to the Moon family.
We are the only ones who can use their power. No one else has the right to have it, not even themselves unless it is to serve the family,' Thought this figure as he disappeared in the mist.
*** Dwarf Workshop ***
Zack stood in the room while wearing head-to-toe completely black clothing. He had a hooded coat, black jeans, and black boots. The only thing he changed was his mask which was red in color.
"Remember, don't give the old man any trouble and help him in everything you can in the store; your brother will be back for you soon," he replied.
"Come back soon brother, I will be waiting for you, I promise I will also become strong, so I can always be by your side" * sob* Silvia had a teary face, but it was understandable.
Zack, more than anyone, knew what it was like to feel alone at such a young age. She was separated from her mother, and now she was also being separated from her brother.
But he had to endure seeing her like this; he couldn't take her where he was going, it's too dangerous, and he promised his mother he would do his best to protect her.
He took a sword that Will gave him and put it on his back. He had the bow and the double swords in space storage; the sword would serve as an equal distraction to show that he didn't have some space storage.

This was a costly commodity; even if he can't remove it, the others will do their best to get it.
Before leaving, he took a green liquid that was in a cup. This was an idea he came up with together with the AI; taking the core one by one was too tedious, so he tried cooking it, and this was the result.
He stirred his chew and drank the liquid. He felt the liquid pass down his throat with a sweet taste and release energy into his body.
[You have consumed liquid of high energy concentration]
[Calculating number of points...]

Zack was surprised by the result. He had used 15 levels 2 basic beast cores, which should give him around 20 points each, but he didn't get that much.
While it's true that they should give him less than 20, he should at least get a little more than what he got.
The only explanation is that the cores were diluted in the firing or needed energy from a more powerful beast to get more points.

He decided to bring his stamina and control to 100 and place 20 in strength and agility while placing 15 in essence. Stamina and control were almost maxed out.
The stats could only be taken up to 120 each until ascending. That's why many humans called the first dimension the training stage since from the second dimension, the way to become stronger changed.

With this, he was only 200 points away from scaling; even if it looked tiny, now the real challenge began. He knows it won't be difficult for him to take down a high-level 1 beast with his current strength.
But to get stronger, he would have to hunt beasts of level two, medium or higher.
He said goodbye to everyone and walked out the door as his feelings felt complicated. He didn't know what it was like to have responsibilities, but he was already getting a taste of this; his emotions were chaotic at the events that transpired.
Going to the wasteland was a decision not everyone would make; there, you would find the major races, which, even with equal stats, could beat you as if you were a child.
Even though humans came late to the dimensions, they were considered a pure race. Pure races were those that could evolve and become stronger.
Despite continuing to move up in dimensions, many races could not evolve, which caused these to fall behind in the pyramid of strength.
"Well, before we leave, let's try out my new strength." He said quietly with a smile inside his mask.
He already had his target in mind. He knew that there were three high-level wasps in the deadly forest, he would go there and test his new power, plus he wanted to experiment with more destructive forces with his thunder element.
He looked up at the sky and took a deep breath. He felt as if he was the center among so many people; even the atmosphere felt strange today. He was starting his journey without knowing that it would lead him to a new world.

Sara's (not really) Fabulous System Armageddon, Book I: The World Ended at Rush Hour
Planet Earth, Monday, October 7th, 2019. 18:30 * * On a fateful day, during rush hour in eastern North America, Heavens and Hell crumbled and fell from their higher dimension on Earth. It came from "above" but not the same above we regard in our tridimensional Euclidean reasoning. No, it came from "above" as in from a higher dimension. Bits and pieces of those places fell on Earth from all directions, this time in tridimensional Euclidean space. Satellites, the ISS, and space debris all were wiped clean from orbit. Even those that didn't crash with the falling debris were knocked off orbit by the shockwaves. On the ground, power distribution lines were disrupted and most power facilities were left abandoned by their dead staff. Most of these had emergency shutdown routines that engaged in a few days. Some others had a survivor among their staff that followed protocol and activated their SCRAM switches, stopping the power plant. Long-distance communication disappeared the internet along with it. The world was plunged into technological darkness. Nine hundred and ninety-nine out of every thousand human beings perished immediately in the pulse of magical energy from the torn spatial boundary. Spirits were rent asunder and vanished, their fate neither salvation nor damnation, only oblivion. The criteria used for this culling was latent magic potential. It didn't discriminate against education, gender, age, or ethnic group. But of the around seven million survivors, most would meet their doom moments later. Those on moving vehicles, like the ones driving on highways suddenly had to contend with high-speed uncontrolled cars and trucks driven by corpses. Trapped in their vehicles and helpless, they became part of the long snake of crushed metal. Very few survived. Those in the air or out in the sea were alone and probably unable to control their rides. Airplanes crashed, and ships kept their course or drifted away, depending on their autopilot. Several ended their own lives in utter despair after seeing their loved ones die in front of them. Another large group would die at the hands of other survivors. Violence and aggression became the norm. Only a few sparse pockets of not-so-sane survivors managed to band together and cooperate for the sake of mutual survival. The sole survivor in a five-over-one apartment building in Georgia, a girl became the keystone to humanity's survival. Sara's fabulous System Apocalypse had just started. She has only one remark. It was anything but fabulous. * * Updates every Wednesday and Sunday.
