《Deity's Fragments [Paused]》Chapter 21 - Students

"Are you going to get out, or are you going to keep following me?" Zack asked as he stopped in the middle of the street. He had left the inn early wearing his mask as usual, and after finding an opportunity to take it off, he did so.
He hadn't lasted long walking when he felt someone following him. He didn't think much about it, so he decided to keep walking, but it was getting annoying, he was sure that whoever it was was following him.
A girl with a white uniform and well-defined hips walked towards him. It was none other than the Asian girl 'Chen Mei.'
"So that was you," he said, losing all interest after seeing who the person approaching him was.
"What do you mean by that?" she said somewhat angrily. No other person ignored her as much as Zack did, even made it as if she didn't exist.
Zack wanted to leave but remembered he wanted to know why the students were here after the free hunting group had left a few days ago. "What are you doing here?" he asked her.
Chen Mei smiled and said, "Now if you show interest, eh, if you kneel and beg me, I can tell you." She replied.
"Forget it. It almost slipped my mind that you and your little group have some mental problem," he said as he pulled back and waved goodbye.
"Wait!" shouted Chen Mei. This shout even made some of the people passing around look at them.
She had noticed this and, walking towards Zack, grabbed him by the wrist and led him to another place.
"Oh, now the princess goes around kidnapping people, interesting," He said with a smile. This time he spoke with more confidence as he knew he had been hunting and could easily fight her.
Thinking about this, he looked at his left wrist and could tell it was dialing the number '113'. He was surprised as he could remember that he wasn't that strong. 'Surely the rich have it easier,' he thought.

"I thought you were someone more interesting, but to be used as a pig too, you joined the free hunt without much thought, didn't you?" said Chen Mei in an arrogant manner.
Zack didn't think much of her tone and asked. "What do you mean?"
Chen Mei smiled and thought, 'If I keep going like this, I'll have it under my control soon.' Then she spoke, "Hum, you make yourself all-important and look at the situation you got yourself into. How about, if you do me a favor, I'll tell you."
"I'll pass," Zack immediately replied. He didn't know what this person could ask him, so he preferred not to accept it.
"What, why not?" she thought Zack didn't like her attitude, or even that she wasn't attracted to him.
"Anyone else can give me answers, and I can come to my own conclusions. Besides, if you brought me here to beg you, you're wasting your time."
Chen Mei had been stunned; nothing she says seemed to appeal to Zack.
"Hey, isn't that scum, Zack? I thought he already committed suicide," A voice said.
Zack didn't have to think too hard to know who spoke. It was James who, after looking all over for the 'Masked Devil', hadn't found him.
James saw the person Zack was talking to and quickly walked over and said. "Miss Chen Mei, Nice to meet you. I didn't know you would be in a place like this. Would you mind accompanying our group to hunt? I can proudly say that we are the best in the area."
Chen Mei had heard everything they said and looked at Zack. This one didn't have a nice view, to say the least, but he didn't look so furious either.
After stealing the tattoo from the group, he felt great; instead, he had never felt so relieved as he did at that moment, that's why he didn't mind the group so much anymore, but he still didn't forgive them.

"Sorry, I'm talking here with my friend; besides, I heard that the 'Red Devil' humiliated you and even seemed to be powerful, it would be better to join the more powerful person," She said.
James looked at Zack as if it was his fault that Chen Mei rejected them. "I understand that you don't want to go with us, but being with this scum would only damage your reputation," he said, referring to Zack.
"Who I decide to talk to is none of your business. Get the hell out of here now, and I'll pretend you never said a word to me," She replied somewhat angrily.
Looking at Zack, James said, "I hope I don't see you outside the shelter, or it will be the end of you."
Zack almost let out a laugh. 'That's the only line you know?'
"Thanks. If you need help at any time, feel free to ask, but nothing about being your slave or anything like that," he replied.
"Boring," Chen Mei said, pouting. "Why didn't you say anything? From your energy level, I can tell you are by far stronger than the last time I saw you."
Zack was surprised, he didn't know what Chen's power was, but it seems they could calculate people's power by seeing the energy they released; moreover, how could she see their energy?
"It's none of your business. By the way, where will the group of students go now?" he replied.
Looking at him with fury in her eyes, she could only sigh. "We will go to the deadly forest, to the place where they took you guys."
Zack didn't need any more information, so he left. Only an idiot wouldn't understand what was going on; he already understands why Dereck had made such a face last time he mentioned the free hunt.
Thinking about it, he wondered how they were doing. He doesn't believe they could be people who would die so quickly and more so with how serene they looked, even knowing what would happen.
'The students were brought to the shelter and then taken to the free hunting spot, while the others were taken straight into the forest, plus I can almost confirm that there wasn't a single official student in my group. We were used to showing these students that only by being part of the army and protected by them could they survive. What a fool.'
Weighing in on this, Zack looked at his bracelet. He had almost forgotten about it, as he hadn't worn it that much.
[*I have analyzed the bracelet, and it has a detonation rune if you try to remove it*]
He knew that this bracelet was not ordinary, as it remained the same after he had completely transformed into his elemental body.
Directing his digitized power, he was able to turn his entire hand into data, but this time the bracelet didn't stay attached but came out of his arm and fell to the ground.
'I already figured that out, but I hadn't fully confirmed it yet. Although my digitized power can transform like the elemental body, it's still different,' he thought as he deactivated his ability. Just activating his arm had consumed more energy than using the electric snake bombs.
'Let's see how this group performs and what the pandora school has to offer. With a smile, he put on his mask and lost himself in the crowd'.
