Rayne

Ocean hopped on Rayne’s countertop and snacked on chilly flavored chips. Rayne was sitting on the couch with the laptop over her legs.

“How’s the house hunt going?”

“Great! Do you not see that we are at my new house?!”

Ocean raised his arms and eyebrows and decided to quietly eat the chips, as Rayne nervously fidgeted with two rings on her fingers.

“I just don’t want to settle. I spend a lot of time at home. So it should be a place I love.”

“I get that. I hate my apartment, so I’m constantly outside.” He shrugged.

Rayne rubbed her temple, feeling its throbbing vein.

“Do you think i could teach a child how to paint?”

“As long as you treat them like you treat cats, and not humans, maybe.”

Rayne got up, stretched her legs, and threw the laptop to the other side of the couch, which startled one of the black cats.

“I wish I was a vampire.”

“What does that have to do with this?” Ocean squinted his eyes, looking puzzled.

“Nothing, it was a different tab of my brain that I accidentally opened.”

She stretched her upper body and arms.

“Wanna go to the MET?”

“Against who?”

“Museum, not a game.”

“Oh, ew.” He wrinkled his nose. “No, thank you.”
