~63 Days until the The Synchronization~

Being drenched in blood wasn’t a pleasant experience.

How the hell am I only just now realizing I am covered in blood and vomit? Ugh, God it stinks.

His entire body was sticky and, honestly, he felt that this was the most disgusting thing he had ever experienced. This was coming from a guy who could go days on end without a shower while hiking and being covered in dirt and grime.

His body smelled like a dead fish mixed with vomit, quite literally, and his clothes were ruined. The only good side to this was the fact that the blood was pretty dry. Wyatt assumed it was a mix of his blood and the strangers, although it was probably more of the strangers blood. His only bleeding wound was a little blood he threw up and a few scratches. The vomit, however, was most definitely his.

Before he went and tried to find the bear cla- supplies. Before he went to find the supplies he would need to fix his current hygiene.

It wasn’t that hard actually, he just went to a local community pool and took a quick shower in the open showers.

Wyatt was a person with very little pride, not that it was nonexistent; he just preferred to not care about things, so he had no qualms with stripping in public and taking a quick shower.

Not that there's anyone around to even see me take a shower. Where is everyone? Jesus this is kind of creepy…

He tried to ignore such thoughts, they would only serve to bring down his spirit.

Once he managed to scrub off the blood, he discarded the clothes that had been stained with blood. He took out his extra pair of clothing and a sudden realization hit him.

Didn’t. Pack. Underware.

Wyatt stood there shocked for a moment. A sick feeling of uncomfortableness washed over him. He was going to have to do his exploring… commando.

I can’t believe this. Going commando at home is normal for me, but outside? That's going to be hella uncomfortable for my balls…

He shivered as a cold breeze swept through the outdoor showers.

Okay. Okay. I can just pick out some more clothing and underwear during my looting. No biggie. Yeah, it will be easy. Just run into the first shop and take a couple for the road.

It took him a while to finally come out of the showers, fully dressed. Well, except for a pair of boxers.

He had been walking for about thirty minutes now and not only was he extremely bothered by his lack of underwear, but he now realized he was hopelessly lost.

Seriously, what the fuck. I ran to the damn street without a thought in mind, and now that I am actively trying to find the damn street, I can’t find it? What kind of bullshit is this?

It was kind of weird how much the world around him had changed.

He didn’t live in a beautiful place in LA, nor was he living the dream. So what happens when already shitty buildings get hit with one hell of a natural disaster? Well, everything pretty much crumbles.

Buildings, shops, and homes that used to stand are now laying flat on the ground. Some of the luckier buildings are only half broken with a missing wall or two here and there. The whole suburbs of LA looked like some kind of pass extinction had played out.

Well, that did kind of just happen so Wyatt guessed that actually made some kind of sense.

After another thirty minutes had passed of him wandering around and not finding Blueberry street, Wyatt gave up and just decided to walk around and find some good shops and homes to loot. He needed supplies and he needed to find good scavenging locations.

Hmm that house actually looks like a good place to start. At Least three walls are still standing and the homes around it look relatively intact.

Somehow, Wyatt had found himself in a decent place. Well, if you can ignore the collapsed builds and the occasional blood stain. The homes looked to belong to middle income families and some of the homes still had cars left in the driveway. He smiled at that. It seemed that this neighborhood had some money, and money was where the good loot was.

He chuckled to himself as he walked up to a house that was still in okay shape. It only had a single collapsed wall and the windows were still intact, save for a few cracks.

The sight of the broken windows made Wyatt hesitate, the fear of the huge crack in the sky was still raw. He didn’t know if he would lose his mind and be swallowed in fear if he looked at the crack again, and he sure as hell wasn’t going to find out.

He left that train of thought for later. For now, he was going to steal some boxers and better food. He had already gone through two of his four chip bags he had packed and was only now realizing that his choice in rations wasn’t a smart one.

With a little extra pep in his step, Wyatt arrived on the front porch of the house he decided to loot first. Just for a little extra fun, he politely knocked on the front door and waited.

Nothing. He expected as much.

With a firm grasp on the door handle, Wyatt flung the door open and stepped inside with his arms wide.

“Papa’s home!”

He exclaimed as he did a little twirl in the hallway of the house. He was excited to stock up on some new snac- rations. He was going to stock up on some new rations. The thought of a granola bar and some new boxers made him grin a little.

The home was relatively nice. Something you would expect a middle classed family to live in, although it was kind of messy thanks to a few places where the ceiling was open and furniture toppled. Some of the more delicate decorations were now shattered pieces of glass.

However, one thing caught his eye. A once beautifully crafted pot that once hosted beautiful wildflowers. However, it was now in pieces and the flowers were beginning to wilt and wither.

So sad.

He was kind of sad at the picture of wilting flowers. He had always loved the purity of nature and had a distinct connection to flowers.

His mind slowly trailed off and he began to feel an empty longing. The kind of longing for something has already been lost.

***

A woman was holding a pair of scissors in one hand and a bunch of wildflowers in the other. She stood over the kitchen sink and was carefully plucking the dead leaves from the flowers.

The woman was a beauty. Her body seemed to glow with a kind of warm and pure feeling, the flaws of the world hadn’t so much as looked at her. She was radiant. Her ripe, wheat colored hair was reflecting the sunlight making it look like pure gold. Her skin was a flawless snow white, the gaze of the sun hadn’t so much as touched this woman.

A little boy, no older than five, was sitting on the living room couch and staring at this woman. His little body was covered in dirt and his hands were muddy. Yet the little boy didn’t seem to care, all he could do was stare at the beautiful lady.

The woman put down the scissors and put the wildflowers in a nearby pot. It was then that she turned around and looked at the little boy. Her eyes were a lightning blue color, bright and full of life. Her smile was gentle and loving, a kind of smile a mother would give to her son. When she opened her mouth, sweet words poured out.

‘What are you doing, meine liebling? Come, you’re filthy.’

The boy grinned and jumped up to run into the woman's arms. He didn’t mind his filthy body, he just smiled as the woman cleaned his hands and face.

Wyatt shook his head. He wasn’t going to think about such things now.

The past is the past. She's not coming back.

He looked away from the wildflowers. Only painful memories came from him looking at them. He would instead think about the present, that's what mattered. So, Wyatt turned and began his looting.

At least, that's what he would have done if he hadn’t spotted a young girl looking at him from the other end of the hallway.

...

“What the fuc-”

He was interrupted by an ear piercing scream that only a child could produce.

AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!
