42 . Arrival of the Elders' Expedition
The message was sent fairly quickly with this artifact, the response was received the next morning. It was indicated on the message that the send would be sent during the day through a portal to check the izel's say, one of the wise men specializing in spatial disturbance had to be present. With him he was going to take the Duke's soldiers to secure the mine, nobody was to enter it. The destination of the rift is unknown and considering the temperature next door, it must be much worse in the rift. In order to have as much data as possible about the other side of the fault, it would be necessary to know that izel does not have any data on the other side of the fault. A phenomenon like this one was quite rare, texts that he had recorded on this kind of phenomenon are quite rare, several faults exist in the nine kingdoms but they are very rare to discover.
Izel had to accompany all that is nobody at the bottom of the mine to guide them, the duke's guards were there to make sure that monsters do not attack the wise man as well. A gate appeared in the middle of the village, men came out of it. The guards were all in their battle armor, the miners who saw it were frightened by all these armed soldiers. Izel explained the whole situation to them so that they understood, after a while everyone calmed down, and they went home directly afterwards. The wise man asked Izel to take him directly to the mine, he said that he didn't have time for false child reports. So he has to hurry up and show him so that he can go back home and search for him at the citadel.

The road to the mine was very quiet by the wise man, the soldiers on the other hand were enthusiastic to see izel because he had heard about him from the captain. The wise man's opinion of izel was really negative, he was an old man who probably thought he was over him. Izel didn't care while the situation was being settled, it's not his problem for the rest, his role is just to guide them, not to be friends. With all these people the mine was a walk in the park, the monster didn't dare to approach so many people. He didn't need to see them because the bodies had been exposed to them by izel, curiosity was visible on the wise man's face but his pride prevented him from believing in him anymore.
At the sight of the gate the soldiers were surprised by this, for them it was not the kind of thing he saw very often. On the other hand the wise man was more curious than surprised, he had seen something like this before but connected to the world of ice giants. This one was the opposite of what he had seen, according to the first observation this portal must be connected to the kingdom of Muspellheim, but to be sure he had to make a diagnosis. The spell to know the connection of this portal was quite complex, it would last at least twenty minutes, a lot of concentration was required. The guards would go to make a circle around the wizard so that there is no unexpected in his spell, this could make him have a counter cost and that would be dangerous. Izel decided to patrol the surroundings to find plants or creatures to retrieve, while patrolling he would scan the surroundings for any peculiarities. The fire energy could be assimilated by Izel's cells, and he didn't have them praying to do so because it was very beneficial to him.

The magic of the wizard was impressively complex, the gestures for him were important. For this kind of spell you need a good affinity with the dimensions, it goes far beyond the capacity of izel. He was content with those he could learn and use, lingering on something he couldn't change, and nonsense. Magic can be quite mysterious to izel again, he was much more used to technology. Thanks to the kree database he was much more gifted, magic was not logical like science. At least technology you can try many more things without danger, magic can be much more dangerous for the slightest error produced. That's why izel was very careful with spells, he prefers to use his genetic ability at least he has more confidence in it.
After half an hour the sorcerer had finished with these preliminary tests and he could tell to which kingdom the portal was attached. He was right in his first conclusion, that was the Surtur kingdom, and the portals to this kingdom were even rarer than the others. The sorcerer seemed to be in a hurry to report this information to the association, he repeated that it was extraordinary. Many resources such as metals and rare plants could be found in this kingdom, but also cultivated in the mine thanks to the energy of this kingdom. He even said that a branch of the guild could be built here, some alchemist would be delighted but also some magician. The association would reward izel for this discovery, the magician had given the impression that this would not be the case because he didn't think izel was so close to the duke. He was not present at the Battle of the Citadel, and that is why his reaction to izel was quite different from that of the soldiers.
They all went outside, but before leaving, the magician placed a containment artifact next to the gate to hide the rift. This prevented the energy from crossing, but also so that a man or woman would not cross over to go to the surtur kingdom.
The artefact requires almost no preparation apart from its activation, once it's done they are all out of the cave to go inform the association, but also to rest while waiting for the next one. The magician had raised a wall of earth at the entrance of the cave so that nobody could enter the cave. When they arrived at the inn the miners had many questions, the most important one was when he could return to work. When the news of the final closure of the mine was heard, the tension was rising as was their anger because it was the only thing that allowed them to feed their families for the most part. The wise man told them that the association would provide them with compensation of course, izel told them that he would ask the Duke's government to find them another job.

Faeos Book One: The Stuff of Legends
A ragtag assemblage of adventurers, scraped together by seeming circumstance, investigate the theft of an ecologically essential artifact. In so doing, they find themselves embroiled (as adventurers so often do) in the larger machinations of a mischevious gnome, a determined mage or three, and a dire threat to their homes. Based on a homebrew Pathfinder campaign begun several years ago, and still running. Faeos is one part combat, one part character building, and one part entirely justified silliness. Blame any lead character weirdnesses on my players, whom I love. Blame everything else on me. Oh, and yes, this should also be tagged "Unreliable Narrator."

My Life As A Superhero Slash Supervillain
James Jude Jamison is experiencing something a bit odd. He was sitting quietly at his computer desk, playing some kind of RPG, he couldn't which one, although the fate of the universe rests on him remembering which (Oh well, it had to end sometime). So, anyway, suddenly, out of nowhere, he got a bit of a headachne, his nose started to bleed, he then proceeded to make a mess in the family room at the computer room. His mom shouted at him, then he died. Then he woke up. He was reborn. Only he had a UI screen suddenly at the edge of his vision. What the hell. He was meant to have some cool powers, like lazers that shot out of his nipples, maybe some mad dancing skills. He would finally be able to speak to girls without laughing in their faces. Sigh. So this is his story, of how he couldn't decide which career prospect appealed to him more. So he decides to give both being a hero and a villain a go. What could go wrong? *** Edit: 2017.06.18 - 03:08 am EST - JJ seems to have buggered off somewhere without telling me where he went. So I am going to have to piece together this story back from the start with the fragments that he gave me. I will leave the original chapters up, but I will be renaming them so they are obvious if new readers don't want to read them. I am currently trying to write chapter one anew. It will feature new reasons of why JJ starts with the villainous lifestyle first, and the reasons of why he is granted the power he was given. If JJ does come back, I will inform you thusly. Then it will be decision of writing from where he left off or telling him to go choke on his own c**k. If I do decide to take the story up, then it will be a decision of to split the stories in two, and if to keep my version alive and concurrent. Thanks.
