《Extraordinary 40K·Golden Era》Chapter 5 Star River Zerg

When the deal was over, Ahern packed up the metal parts and left the booth.
Not far away, a man in a black cloak happened to pass by. Suddenly he stopped and looked into Ahern's background. A flash of green light under his cloak followed him silently.
Ahern walked around the market a few times, without buying anything, and turned into a side street.
The Cloaked Man quickly followed in and saw an empty lane.
"Who are you and why are you following me?" "Ahern asked faintly, jumping off the wall.
The Cloaked Man was not surprised to be found, but said in a hoarse voice that seemed to come from his abdomen, "Stay with that thing, or -- die!"
"Oh, is that what you mean? Ahern tossed the newly purchased metal parts up and down with her right hand.
"Very well, give it to me." The Cloaked Man said softly, holding out a hand.
"Well?" Ahern frowned. As the other person spoke, a mental wave stabbed at him, trying to control his brain.
With a cold grunt, the force of the magnetic field dashed against this mental wave in an instant, causing a bright electric light in the air.
"Man, transcendent? !" The Cloaked Man let out an ugly howl, thrust out his right claw, and shot at Ahern like a cannon ball.
"Rotation of the magnetic field, ten thousand strength!" Ahern throws a punch that goes faster than the speed of sound.
"Boom!"
Fist claw to bang, two terrible forces flarely collide, a sudden thunder remembered, four overflowing air rage, both sides of the wall and the surface of a hard scrape off.
"Rip! The wind tore a hole in the cloak man's arm, exposing his claws beneath it.
Ahern's pupils were constricting violently. It might not have been a hand, but a tiny, scaly claw with a cool sheen.
"What the hell are you? Ahern narrowed his eyes and closed his right hand, his lightsaber in his palm.
"Hiss, hiss... Damn humanity, Lord Gram will make you pay." He, or so it was, had the form of a man, but the skin on his palms was covered with scales, his face was like a cold-blooded snake's, and his eyes were yellow and upright.
It was chilling to be stared at by those vertical eyes, as if you were being stared at by some large, cold-blooded animal.
Ahern, who aspires to be a transcendent, also studied the information of the alien races and their ethnic characteristics at the Aurora University.
One of them, the Zags, is one of humanity's most hostile races in interstellar exploration, commonly known as the Starriver Zerg.
The Star River Zerg is known as the locust of the universe. Their number is as amazing as the stars in the universe. They devour all the substances existing in the nature.

Once humans and Zigs meet, there is absolutely no possibility of reconciliation between the two races.
Because the differences between the two races are so great, even if they are disguised as each other, the difference in appearance is very obvious, the most significant is the native characteristics of pupil residual.
"It's a filthy reptile, and the place to go is to soak in formalin and collect it as the first insect I've ever killed." Ahern held the tip of his lightsaber in his left hand and pulled it into a semi-arc.
The fact that light, physical and matterless, can have such a phenomenon shows Ahern's very subtle control.
The next moment, the lightsaber jerked, the blade shot through the air, and with a loud thud, a foot-long gash opened in the caped man's flank, spurting green blood.
The blow nearly cut his opponent in half, tearing apart half his body and exposing flesh writhing inside.
"Hiss! I'll tear you to pieces!"
With a loud hiss of pain, Ahern was confronted with a terrifying vision of a transformed monster, skin torn, flesh strewn, and a snake-like creature more than three meters tall rising up.
The Serpent, one of the fiercest and most dangerous Zerg creatures, is a combination of a sloth and a caterpillar, with the cunning and venom of a venomous snake.
"Hiss, human, be honored! Your flesh and blood will be part of Lord Gram." With a whinny of Zerg slang, the spiked snake's top carapace opens and hundreds of spikes shoot out at once.
Ahern's body is like lightning, leaving the range of attack at the first time. Occasionally, when confronted with spikes that can't dodge, he wielded his lightsaber to the extreme, pulling out the shadow of his sword body in the air, and flying the spikes one by one.
Crash!
Most of the spikes, carrying the force of terror, went straight through the walls behind them, and the whole wall collapsed.
The noise here at last attracted the attention of others, and in the distance came a faint noise.
"Shit, damned human." Gram, with a roar of discontent, suddenly spat a pungent slime at his feet, eroding a dark hole in the ground and leaping into it.
To Ahern's surprise, he stood at the edge of the hole and looked down. It was connected to an urban sewer branch, separated from the ground by just over three meters of concrete.
This thorn snake used it to escape.
"Want to run! It's not that easy!" Ahern gave a sneer and jumped in...
An hour later, a thornacled snake, dripping with green blood, was swimming like a snake through the tunnel, its ugly head peering over its shoulder.
The last hour was the first time it experienced extreme pain since its mother was born. Although it was angry and resisted, the result of the fight was several deep wounds on its body that could penetrate to the bone.

Had it not been for the strength of the Zerg, it would have been killed by the enemy's lightsaber.
"Damn it! Hiss, sly human, hiss, to wound Lord Gram so..." A large amount of blood has made it a little delirious, but if there is a real murderous spirit behind it did not dare to have the slightest stagnation, tail retractive flee.
"Whoosh!"
A burst of blue light came, scraping off a layer of flesh and scales. The Serpent gave a cry of pain and swam quickly without turning his head.
'Can you go? Behind him, Ahern sneers. The complex route and narrow space make for a difficult pursuit, but that doesn't mean he doesn't have other options.
"It's time to end it." Ahern rose up in the air, and then suddenly disappeared from sight, only to reappear floating above the Hydralisk.
The lightsaber takes a shot in midair, then slashes down as a thunderbolt.
"PSST!" The moment of life and death, spiny snake suddenly stood up, ferocious mouth a squirm, corrosive slurry toward the front of the fan-shaped area spraying.
And that wasn't all. The Hydralisk's front legs shot forward, their sharp claws tearing the air and sweeping down.
"The roar! Despicable humans, die!"
In a desperate effort, Sticker and Claw were about to touch Ahern when the man in the air suddenly disappeared into electric light.
The next moment, the sword light came through the other side, slicing the giant trunk into countless pieces and splashing them all over the ground.
Ahern's figure stepped out from behind it, one foot on the tumbling snake's head, his lightsaber held aloft.
With only one head left, the Serpent was not quite dead for a moment. It stared at the man with its dead grey eyes and cursed maliciously, "Ss, ss, they will avenge me..."
"Croak! The light saber thrust it through the center of the snake's head and into the brain stem, where the heat charred the snake's brain.
The Zerg may be a very different species from humans, but the brain is also its Achilles' heel.
"Over there!
"Watch your step! This is... The corrosive slime of the Zerg."
In the distance, the sound of the crowd was approaching rapidly.
Ahern had no intention of coming into contact with the others, and was about to turn away when, with a slight noise, he plucked a skin bag the size of a hand from the Hydralisk's flesh.
The skin is made from the skin of an unknown creature, and unlike the bright texture of the Hydralisk, the surface is dusty and looks unremarkable.
"This is..." Ahern had an idea, tucked it into her arms, and turned away.
Before long, a group of heavy men with various heavy weapons arrived and looked at each other in despair, only to see a pool of mangled claw remains.
Three days later, xu city building, the 100th floor of the VIP room
Ahern floats cross-legged in midair, playing with a biological skin bag in her hand, in a room that has been replaced with a new modern home.
After killing the snake that day, Ahern returned to the guestroom in the town to recover his lost energy in a retreat that lasted three days and three nights.
Three days later, the Hydralisks had quietened down in Morningstar, a famous black market on the surrounding planets, where many alien races came and went, and it was not unusual for one to die once in a while.
Ahern finally had time to check out the haul.
"This is it." For a moment, Ahern's face brighted with surprise. If he was right, this ordinary looking leather bag turned out to be a kind of space equipment unique to the Zerg, the Void.
Ahern had read in one of the Union's teaching systems that there was a kind of Zag troop called the Void Master Nest, which, after reaching a certain life span, would produce an organ called the Void Leather in its body, which was the main material for making the Void Pouch.
However, the age of the main nest of a void is usually measured in centuries, so this object, like the mustard seed device of human beings, is scarce and very rare.
As far as Ahern knows, only one of the most advanced transcendental college heads in Aurora had a mustard seed device, and it cost a lot of money to get it.
As for the average transcendent, it is not likely that he will possess a piece of space equipment until his death.
Just because Ahern accidentally gets a Zerg space item doesn't mean he can claim it as his own right away.
Any space equipment and the original owner of the genetic code binding, outsiders want to force open, the final result will only be lost in vain.
"We'll have to think about it when we get back." Ahern thought for a moment and put the Void Pack away. It would take a professional master to decipher the Zerg code, and just because he didn't know one now doesn't mean he won't get to know one in the future.

A Nation of Distances (possibly a dystopian love story)
Michael lives in a toxic macho world with extreme male hierarchy. When he gets a weird rating that makes his place even more problematic he's forced to choose a fiancée at a Wife School, and he slowly discovers more about the other side of the great divide between the sexes in The Nation. If only the world would stop being so complicated... On the other side there's Megan, who's more interested in books than in marriage, and the unpredictable Eliza who seems to have a connection with Micheal already. Will they be able to cross the distance and become friends against all the rules of their own world, or will they just be crushed? Are positive relationships between men and women even possible? And is there a way to change the world or is that just a naive thought of a silly wimp? 'A Nation of Distances' is a slightly dystopian dialogue-heavy drama set in a low sci-fi future setting about the war between the sexes, disconnect and friendship. The genre will fluctuate in between more slice-of-life parts and soft sci-fi drama with possible romantic elements, with alternating lead and switching perspectives once more of the main characters are established. Content Warning: Certain concepts and scenes might be disturbing and/or triggering to some, even though the story itself won't be extremely heavy most of the time. Sexism as a double-edged sword destructive to both sexes is an important part of the story, but so is friendship.Note that all descriptions of persons and places are purely fictional and made up by the writer, and any resemblance with anything in the real world is a coincidence, since the real world is not supposed to be dystopian anyway!
