6: SideKick

- Duke Astrye POV-

I Romand Astrye never felt such helpless in my life.

"Can't you wait till your brother returns?" I asked my eldest daughter who was standing in front of me.

"Father, I don't want my master to wait for me. The faster I go there, the faster I will able to achieve what I want" she said to me while looking straight into my eyes.

I look toward the beautiful lady standing behind my daughter.

"One Month, after one month we will leave this place," she said in a cold and monotone voice

"But master....." my daughter tried to object but the lady stopped her.

"I have said Kayla, that after one month we leave this place," the lady said to my daughter in the same cold voice but with a bit of sweetness.

"So be it" saying so my daughter gave a bow to the lady and then they both walk out from my office.

It all started two years ago.

My youngest son disappears after the Capital city tournament. I tried to find him everywhere I can, send the soldiers to towns and cities and even go to the king to pass a national decree but every search was futile. He was not like his siblings and has a little talent but he was my son. I do believe that sometimes I get too strict with him. One time I even have thrown him out of the window. My wife was really depressed and keep saying that it was her fault. My other three children were also very sad, he was not best of them but he was favorite of them. He always able to make everyone around him laugh. I do sometimes laugh at his accent.

The matter got worse when after one month my wife disappears. My eldest daughter Kayla keep saying that she was taken away by gods to God's Plane but it is something very hard to believe. Like the search for my son, her search also does not let any result. My eldest daughter started devoting all her time to cultivation. My youngest daughter, become more lonely when maid Barbara left the job and started spending her most time in the garden. My eldest son joins the army as the youngest commander and I busy myself in my dukedom affairs.

Two months ago, my daughter came to me and said that she has found her master. I was surprised and what came next truly shocked me. Her master is a Frozen sea fairy from Frozen sea sect. She introduced herself as Fairy Rowena, one of the twelve Frozen Fairy of Frozen sea sect. She told me that my daughter has pure yin body which appears once in every 1000 years. I know that as my wife told me this before. She said that my daughter was capable of learning Frozen Sea secret arts and can become sect's master direct disciple. I was overwhelmed by this discovery. Frozen sea sect is one of the top three hidden sect of twelve hidden sects and does not support any great empire or any other force in the world. It only accepts female disciples that are top class beauties. The only drawback is that a disciple of the frozen sea can never marry or visit their families.

Looking at my daughter, I know that she had made her decision to join the sect. I respect her wishes but still, I don't want her to become a cold fairy like in tales.

A teardrop rolls down from my eyes 'Azhi if you were still here maybe you could stop her'.

-Kayala POV-

I was really happy that I won the tournament and now we could have a grand feast at home. As I reached home I came to know that Evan was missing. I found out nobody has seen him after the end of the tournament. Eona and Lucian were looking sad with a bit of tear in their eyes, mother was crying desperately and father was giving an order to some soldiers.

People say that he ran away because he was jealous. I don't believe them, he is a kind of person that will even laugh at the face of death. He has a perception that could even beat the three of us combined. I remember that of many of my spells would have failed if he did not have given me some tips. Lucian would never able to reach Silver warrior if he did not change some key concepts inside his cultivation manual. Eona condition could be much worse if he did not give her that gift. Mother even sometimes said that he got a brain that could make god's jealous.

Mother, many times told me the story about Gods plane. I always like her stories, even Lucian and Eona does. Evan always remained somewhat skeptical and even sometimes call gods as 'aliens'. It was a week after when Evan disappear, mother called me in her chamber. She told me that she does not belong to this plane and after few days she had to leave them forever. I cried a lot, and ask her to not leave me and let me go with her. She said only beings with considerable power can enter that plane. She said that there are few people there, which wants her presence and if she does not go they will harm everyone including her family. She even had some doubts that her people are responsible for Evan disappearance. She asked me to take care of my siblings and my father after she leaves this plane.

After few weeks mother disappeared overnight. Father was really sad. I told him that mother was taken away by gods but he does not believe me. Lucian joined the army as youngest commander and Eona always spend time in the garden with Evan's Gift. I decided that if I want to bring happiness back to our family I have to bring the mother back and for this, I have to become strong. I started cultivating day and night to increase my magic strength.

One day, when I was cultivating and doing my daily magic practice, a beautiful women with white hair appear in front of me. She told me that she is a frozen fairy of frozen sea sect and want to take me as her as a disciple. I have heard of frozen sea sect and listen about their powers. She told me that as I have pure yin body, I can practice Frozen sea secret arts and can become the sect master direct disciple. I even came to know the cost to become a disciple of Frozen sea sect. I decided to join the sect as they can help me to get power to reach god's plane. I accept her as my master and move toward my father office to tell him the news.

-Hero's time-

"young master, young master wait up" a young man shouted as he ran down the alley.

"So Alfred I hope the pedophile in you must have calmed down," a young boy said these words while smirking.

"Barbara is not a child, she is a lady," Alfred said objecting the boy words.

"Oh yeah, she is a full grown lady, a full grown lady," the boy said in a sarcastic way.

Alfred ignored his words and said " Master, he has entered into the Great Wind Academy"

"Faster than expected but he still has a long way to go..." the boy said keeping a hand on his chin.

The boy disappears and then appears on the top of a building. He joins his hands behind his back and looked toward the horizon as watching someone very carefully. The rays of setting sun fall upon his face giving him an expression of an old and wise.

"So let's see brat that if you have the capability to become this old man sidekick".
