Chapter 1

“Yikes! It’s hot!” screamed by a young-looking teenager. He is eating a red bean steamed bun in front of a convenience store. He is Yuudai Nakamura. A normal teenager who has a slightly younger face than the other people with the same age as him.

*Sigh* “I can’t go on like this anymore….it’s too cruel……being bored is the enemy of humanity….”

Yuu sighs very long after that and started to walk away from the convenience store.

“Isn’t there anything fun to do anymore? I just finished all the console game and even most of the MMORPG is already been explored by me……what is left to do…..sheesh…”

He stopped at a large-size apartment and starts to go into the elevator.

“Well at least I can still update my app for the time being. Oh, seems there still no bug for this….”

He finally stopped at the fifth floor and start walking until the 501th room is in front of him. He use a card-type key and enter the room.

“I really want to try this new hype of VRMMORPG, but I don’t think pops will give me a chance…..”

Yuu lives alone, his parents are living overseas separated from him. Not like they have a bad relationship, it was his parent job that required them to work all over the world. Even though Yuu doesn’t know what his parent occupation is, he thinks it must be pretty important.

“But that is before! Mwahahaha! Right now I can play it! Yeahhhh!”

Yuu shouted and laugh heartily because he finally can try the Virtual Reality World that has been in created one year ago. His father doesn’t permit it at first because of his strict traits. His father think that he will not has any future if he only sticks with game and become addict to it.

Then, Yuu create a promise with his father, if he can show his father an achievement that can support his future and dream, his father will permit him to play VRMMORPG. So he started too studied all about game developing and started learning about programming and different language of computer.

Fortunately, he seems to be talented in this field and start to master a few languages in a year. Then he created his own app and even makes money with it. In just a year he becomes an app developer.

His father didn’t expect this, but he reluctantly permits him to play VRMMORPG.

Yuu right now is 18 year old, he just end his high school last year.

“Hehehehe I can’t wait anymore…….let started to unpack this box first!”

In front of him is a small-sized box with “V.W.C Machine” write at the box.

“With this……I can finally enter the world of S.O, Eternia…..fuahhhh my dream will finally come true!!!!”

S.O, stand for Seikatsu ONLINE. The first and largest Virtual Reality Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game. It has the biggest community and playerbase comparing from the other VRMMORPG. Other than that, the world in Seikatsu ONLINE called Eternia is the largest world that has been created in a VRMMORPG. There also rumors that the game isn’t managed by the people from Linker, the game company that responsible for Seikatsu ONLINE. But is managed by a super A.I (Artificial Intelligence) that is created by a team of researcher from Linker.

S.O is very popular because of its own game system which is very unique and full of entertainment. Different from other VRMMORPG, S.O’s world, Eternia’s event, is not decided by Linker or the Game Master. Everything will be decided by the player interaction and decision.

Well, that is Seikatsu ONLINE.

Yuu started to open the box vigorously. His face becomes excited when he sees a circular shaped machine like a glass. This machine is called V.W.C, Virtual World Connector. It is an essential equipment to play any Virtual Reality related games or software. He started reading the manual and starts to set up the V.W.C.

“Hahaha, with this I can go explore new thing! Maybe I should ask Reina to play too…..oh well maybe next time~”

He wear the V.W.C and say, “Gate open!”

Suddenly his vision becomes dark and a certain light is lit up. The light is guiding him toward something.

“Welcome to Virtual World Connector. Please choose a name that will present yourself. Do avoid using your real name because it might harm you in real life.”

A gentle woman voice is resonated in Yuu’s ear.

Each human can only has one account of V.W.C. Even though the V.W.C machine can be change, the account of the human that has been registered once will stayed same. In other words, the character in V.W.C is like another life for a human. V.W.C job is only to connect human to the Virtual World. There is many Virtual World create by each different game company. But there will only be one character for each human in this world.

Yuu starts to ponder about his name.

“What should I use…..? Maybe Breadman or CrackerBoy? I love bread after all~”

Oh, and Yuu naming sense is very terrible.

“Ugh…..I hate this part….choosing name is really hard after all…..”

He seems to be frustrated, but suddenly an idea pop out in his mind.

“Oh! Yeah that name is awesome right….uh.....I think I’ll only take the first name….hardcore fan might kill me if I take his name….”

“I choose Luke!”

He….seems to take it from St*r W*rs character.

“Are you sure you want Luke as your name in Virtual World? Please confirm.”

The gentle voice resonates again.

“Yup~”

“Really? It can’t be changed anymore after this.”

“Eh? Yeah of course!”

“100% sure? Please confirm again.”

“Wow, you sure ask many times….”

“Of course, it is my job to serve player around the world and guide them to make no mistake. It is after

all a one and only chance.”

Yuu is surprised by how smoothly he is conversing with the gentle voice. He suddenly thought, maybe automaton maid is not far from the future.

“Hahaha yeah, thanks for the remainder. Yes I choose Luke as my second name in my life.”

“Then Luke shall be your name. Please wait for a second, I’ll start registering your account into V.W.C”

“Hey hey, do you has a name? Are sure you are not a human?”

“Yes of course, I am an A.I called Custos. I, myself doesn’t has any soul like a human has. That should

prove that I am not a human.”

“Wow you really speak like a human, technology this day really great. Do you think a human automaton can be create in the future?”

“I can’t determine that.”

“Ehhhh, why……”

“The registration is finished. You can now choose which world you like to enter.”

Wow, she ignored me Yuu thought.

“Thank you for that. I want to enter Eternia from Seikatsu ONLINE by Linker!”

“Affirmative. You will be transfer to the creation room.”

“Okay! Thank you for your service Custos~”

“Your welcome Luke, and please don’t think any perverted stuff about automaton maid or something

related to it.”

“Eh…we-“

Yuu transported to the creation room.
