Rook held her in his arms, slowly stroking her long brown hair that was matted with blood and dirt. He could experience envy now that he knew what it meant to be human, to feel real emotion. He hated it, he wished he had never met Rachel or felt her lips against his. The brief emotions he felt over just a few days were more exhilarating and euphoric than he had ever known his entire life.

"You know it doesn't have to end this way." A voice above Rook startled him. He looked up to see the top of the crater he was in was lined with BDF soldiers...carrying Gauss rifles. An Officer was standing to one side with his arms crossed and a smile on his face behind his translucent helmet.

"You know what the Bastion can do, all you have to do is come with us 333. Whoever she is, we can make her whole again."
