Chapter eight: Calvary has Come
The last of the rain tatters onto his armor and light brown skin as he rides up to us casually. "Hello there!" He calls out as the ousada trots over to us. "Are you the residents of Kai village?"
Did he come from one of the neighboring towns? "Uh- yes, I'm Vila, the one who sent the letter."
He slightly bows his head to me and responds, "Hello Vila-kan, I'm Ruus, the head of the armory in Erekinxon*."
Reina and I slightly bow to him.
"You said there were only two enemies, and you were very descriptive about each."
My mind stutters for words as I blush from being frantic, "Oh yeah, uh-you got one at least. The other guy didn't seem much of a threat really."
"He might be hiding in the bushes as we speak," Ruus replies as he searches around in a stoic way. He then looks back down to me. "Where are the rest of the villagers?"
How do I explain this? "Um-I sent the unable to your place, but the rest..." I look over to the mess that Vensen made of the others.
"I see," he answers quietly. "I'm sorry for your loss, but now we must be more careful of the other one."
"That won't be necessary."
We all hear that chilling voice from Vensen's corps.
He slowly raises himself up with the arrow sticking out of his head and then pulls it out.
The ousada growls at him, but with no fright coming from his being.
Is there anything that can kill this monster!?
The ousada swings its huge paw at him at a great speed, but Vensen is quick to block it without trouble.
Vensen grabs the creature's gigantic wrist, snatches the fur on its head, and looks at it in the eye with authority in his tenor, "Sit!" He pushes down on the animal's head with a great force and causes the ousada to slam onto the gravel with a whimper. With a swiftness of his feet, Vensen steps onto the ousada's head and stands on its burly shoulders as he looks down on Ruus. "Having fun yet?"

The ousada gathers its strength again and bucks Vensen off high into the air.
Vensen flips over and lands on his bare feet smoothly like a coordinated feather. He sees the rest of the small army charge towards us from where Ruus came, the south side. "I suppose I can deal with them for now."
That won't be enough to stop him!
That black fog from yesterday emerges from Vensen again with a substantial growth until it becomes his being. At a flash, Vensen rushes in towards the fighters like a stampede. In an instant, I watch the army of Erekinxon be devoured by this ominous brume. It comes in like a gust of wind and rips the skin clean off of their skeletons.
I look behind to see an army from Elana come towards us on the north side.
Ruus runs over to the north and begins to shout at the other warriors, "Turn back! Retreat!"
They just keep galloping on their horses and seem to ignore him, or maybe they can't understand what he's saying. Either way, they continue towards us.
The dramatic wind rushes past us with the obscurity of the black mist and instantly reaches the people of Elana. It stops just before touching them and rises up to the sky, forming into the hazy dragon with a great size.
All of the men stop in fright while trying to keep control of their horses as the dragon looks down on them.
Suddenly, the brume thrusts its head into the ground on top of the army and engulfs them. It devours the skin off of them like before and lets the bones of every creature in its path to fall apart and plummet. The fog strides over to us with great speed and all I can think to do is embrace myself for the impact.

This is it I guess.
I brace myself as I watch it charge in my direction. I know its heading for me.
Just before it touches me, Vensen's face appears out of the haze and stops a mere inch from my obverse. His body forms once again from the mist and almost follows the breeze like a solidified being again.
We both look into each other's eyes as a challenge to one another; he with that stupid grin on his face, and I with a look of pure wrath.
He decides that it's a good idea to open his mouth at this point, "Thank you for the snack my dear, I was becoming a bit famished there for a moment."
I'll kill him! I'll send him straight to hell!
I don't care if he allowed me to have the upper hand or not, but my anger takes control of me and I sucker punch him straight to the jaw.
He takes it and lets his face jerk to the side from the impact. Another damn laugh slips past his lips and he turns a little to stare at me again. Vensen stands up from his crouching position as he continues to stare at me with that grin of malice. "You're new to this, so I'll let you off the hook for now. I have some errands to attend anyway."
Another gust of wind rushes past us with enough power to obscure our site and forces us to cover ourselves. When our vision stabilizes again, he's gone...

Xon- It means “small” but is usually placed after the name of a residence to indicate that it is the sub-residence of the given title, thus, making it a sub-village. Sub-villages are usually created for the sole purpose of farming for the main city it’s named after.
