《Rising of Grenetas》Chapter 5 Part 2

"Run, Aruda, Run!" Jaden shouted.
Aruda's eyes were brimming with tears as he followed the others and tried to outrun the creatures.
"Aaah!" Johnny who was on the front cried.
"What happened?" Jaden asked.
Before he could get a reply, the wet mud made Jaden lose his footing and he fell down inside a pit and on the top Johnny. Once again, before he could warn the others, Aruda and Susan fell down inside the pit too.
Jaden flashed his torch at the edge of the pit only to discover that the monsters had surrounded the pit.
"We're gonna die," Susan screamed.
The first monster jumped inside the pit. They saw the face of Death as the creature came closer to them.
However, when the creature was in midair, a bright white light appeared from the edge of the pit followed by a shockwave that made the creature collide with the wall and fall down lifeless. The other monsters too were thrown down inside the pit, lifeless, with the same force.
When Jaden flashed his torch above, only a single figure was there - Jake.
"Jake!" Aruda shouted. "You are alive!"
"What the hell was that?" Johnny cried.
"I have no idea. I thought I was going to die when the creatures surrounded me but then suddenly, I felt a power inside me. The feeling went stronger and stronger until I released it out. I killed all the monsters that surrounded me and then went straight towards you guys to help you." Jake replied.
"We'll figure that out later. First, we need to get out of here. Jake, I am throwing you my gem. Grab it and turn it into a rope." Jaden tossed his gem and Jake caught it in the air.

"How does it work?" Jake asked.
"Think about the rope and make your thoughts flow to your hands," Aruda replied.
"Wow! That's crazy," Jake muttered.
"Not as crazy as what you just did. Now, do as he told," Jaden stated.
"Alright," Jake concentrated hard for a moment before changing the stone into a rope. He lowered it for the others to climb up.
"Okay, we seriously need to figure out what's wrong with Jake and if we have the same power or not," Susan declared once they all had come out of the pit.
"I think it's obvious that he isn't one of us. He is a regular human and not a creation of Grenetas," Jaden stated, "Although, the question is, how the hell did he manage to remain awake when the entire world went to sleep?"
"I know how he is awake. Jake was about to sleep too but then, as soon as I touched her, he started feeling fine. Maybe, I provided him with the strength to resist the magic. That's how he didn't fall asleep due to the curse." Aruda explained, "And now, the power he got is because he can resist the dark magic, the power on which Grenetas's creature thrive."
"How can you be so sure about that?" Johnny asked.
"I'll tell you," Aruda replied, "Jake, use your magic on that tree in front of you,"
"Uh, alright," Jake turned to a tree in front of them and then concentrated hard. Slowly, his hands turned white and then released a shock wave. As the shock wave traveled to the tree, they caught a brief glimpse of a building upon looking at the trail left by the shockwave.
"You were right, Aruda!" Jaden cried, "He really can resist the dark curse that witch has cast upon this place. The shockwave showed us our world. He's a very valuable asset to us! God knows what else power he has. If he is with us, we actually stand a chance of defeating Grenetas and her dark magic."

THIS is NOT deadalus. This is NOT THE MECH TOUCH. This is an independent work by myself. The setting is similar - because, well, its a SCI-FI Mech novel. What am I to do about that? Some people judge at chapter one, five or ten. I would like those who decide to drop this novel and drop a 1 or 2 to read chapters 27 or 28 or 29. On a positive note; I really don't need to defend my work or myself. I'm very satisfied with the progress lately. Im happy with the continued support. Im happy to have become a Webnovel Contracted Author. I'm happy to have +/- 350 collections on WN. Im happy to be at +/- 80 followers here, with so many of you even favouriting.Thank you all for the support and for being awesome!
