《The Storytellers》Fire

Now, children, you must remember that, during the time that the Moon was formed and humanity came to live upon the Earth, outside of the small bubble of peace and hope surrounding these few pantheons, the Earth, and the Sun, many other pantheons of gods were still at war with one another. They fought over territory and pride for many years before, they too, began to tire of their endless conflicts.
Over time, more and more of these pantheons gradually halted their warlike ways in favor of peace or isolation. Many new planets and stars were created as these pantheons sought out their own place to settle and prosper. Many looked to the pantheons of Odin, Helios, and Ra as inspiration for what could be achieved. In fact, many pantheons chose to settle upon the Earth, attracted by the presence of life and the curious phenomenon that was humanity. These new pantheons were gradually accepted and began to spread to all corners of the globe, roaming wherever humanity was present.
For a time, things went smoothly. The Moon revolved around the Earth, the Earth revolved around the Sun, and life and humanity flourished on its surface. It wasn't long, however, before the gods noticed a problem. Humans kept dying. As the Earth made its trip around the Sun, the seasons changed from Summer to Fall to Winter, and, to many gods' surprise, humanity began to die in the cold.
One goddess who had settled a landmass further south than most of the other gods was especially horrified at this new development. Tsetse Bumba quickly realized that humanity needed some way to keep itself warm through the long winter months. She decided that she would share some of her energy with the humans and hope that it would be enough to keep them warm. So, climbing high into the sky, Tsetse looked around for a human on which to test her theory. Spotting one near a grove of trees, she gathered her energy and hurled it at the human. But, much to her dismay, Tsetse found that she was lacking in both control and accuracy. She missed the human and instead struck the grove of trees nearby. She quickly realized that she had put far more energy into her bolt than she intended, as the grove immediately burst into flames.

But, to her surprise, the human nearby, initially shocked by the bright flash of light and thunderous sound that had accompanied Tsetse's bolt, quickly moved towards the flames. Tsetse realized that the human was warming himself by the fire. It was then that she figured out what she had to do. Flying over the Earth, Tsetse hurled her bolts of energy everywhere she could find humans, igniting fire across the land. Humanity quickly realized the benefits of the flames and began to gather near them for warmth.
But the flames did not last long. Even the mightiest fires ignited by Tsetse's bolts did not rage for more than a day before fading to embers. Tsetse was forced to continue flying over the Earth, reigniting the fires with her own energy.
But Tsetse was tiring. Her energy was not infinite, and every bolt of lightning that came from her hands sapped her strength even more. Tsetse, however, was desperate. She did not wish to see humanity perish so soon after its creation. In a sudden moment of clarity, Tsetse remembered the story that the other gods had told her of Helios and Tecciztecatl.
She knew what she needed to do.
She knew that there was power in sacrifice.
So, gathering what energy she had left, Tsetse rose high into the sky and released everything she had in one enormous burst. She delved deeper and deeper into her own reserves of energy until she too began to burn. Hundreds of thousands of bolts of lightning struck the Earth, igniting enough fire to warm humanity for a thousand years. Tsetse, utterly spent from her efforts, looked out across the Earth and saw the bright flames warming humanity. Content, Tsetse fell from the sky, closing her weary eyes, and rested.
But a problem still remained.
Tsetse had done her work too well. The fires that she ignited did not fade. In fact, they grew. Larger and larger until they threatened to consume the entire planet...

I know how it will happen (more precisely, how I want it to happen), but currently, there are just subtle nuances that can only be left to the reader's very expansive imagination, and I wouldn't call that romance but a
