The ocean never drowns a person with whose leg it does not come in contact.
He woke up immediately as he heard a shrilling howl from afar, his hand immediately going to his dagger which he kept beside him. Odion stood up and looked at the wooden clock hung on the far side of the wall and saw that it was barely past midnight.
Dogs weren't uncommon in Lagos but something felt strange about that howl. It shook him to his very core, he hadn't felt this way since he had been around that god that Eshu was talking to in his dream? What had Eshu said again? Something about a hunt.
Odion got his tee shirt from beside him and was about to put it on when he heard a scream. That's not possible, he thought. From the howl he heard, whatever was chasing him this time was still miles away, nothing could possible travel that fast. Then he heard more howls and small rhythms on the floor, like paws.
He was hearing more screams now, followed by the sounds of feet running on the ground fast. He grabbed his dagger and was heading to the door when he heard mama call him.
"My son," she said as she rubbed her eyes, resting on her elbow so she could see him better in the dim light. "Why is everybody screaming and where are you going?" Her eyes widened as she looked at his hand and the weapon it held. "Jesu, wha-what is that? Where did you get that?"
She was backing into the wall now and though the lights were dim, Odion could see the fear in her eyes clearly. "Please," she sobbed as she put her hands together, begging, "I don't have much, take anything you want, but please don't kill me."

Odion raised his hands up and she flinched. He carefully put the dagger back in his waistband and he spoke peacefully to her. "No no, I'm not robbing you, mama. Just go under your bed and stay there, everything will be fine, it'll soon be over."
And then the door was broken down behind him.

The Type Specialist
Alex wakes up in the world of Pokémon. Obviously, the next step is to become a Pokémon Trainer, but not just any Pokémon Trainer. Why should I be mediocre with every type when I can be an expert in one? The Type Specialist is my first attempt to write a fiction. It is solely about travelling the world and building a strong team. Don't expect a solid plotline outside of Alex taking on the Gym Challenge and dealing with small problems that pop up here and there. Updates 5 times a week, every weekday until caught up.
