《The Weaver's Burden (HIATUS)》An update.

I've been kind of putting this off, but I think it's fair to go ahead and get it out there. Over the past month I have been doing a lot of work, both with writing my Inkfort Press Writing Derby entry, and some real world stuff that has taken up a lot of my free time. During all of this, I have tried to work on The Weaver's Burden simultaneously, but my derby entry sort of took priority since it has a time constraint that I have to stick to. I recently found the time to look back at some of my old entries and notes, since I wanted to check back on my old writing and check on the direction before I started again. I can't say I was happy with what I read. Maybe I was being overly critical of myself, but I really was not satisfied with a lot of aspects of my ongoing story. TWB was my first time writing and posting something for others to read, and I frankly had no clue what I was doing. I pantsed the entire thing, and I feel like it was more a series of cool ideas and loose scenes written to justify them than an actual story that I wanted to tell. So I have two ways that I want to move forward: - Start over from scratch. or - Put the story on ice and work on another project. Now, I really don't make this call lightly, since I know I had a fair amount of people who enjoyed the story, but at the present I cannot really find much inspiration for writing TWB. I wish I could show you guys the story I have been working on in the meantime, but the derby is anonymous and so I have to keep my lips shut. But I encourage you to look into the contest if you haven't already, and maybe see if you can guess as to which one I am! Maybe after the contest ends I'll spill the beans, but for right now it has to be kept secret. So does this mean I am done writing? No, no way, not by a long shot. I feel guilty putting TWB on hiatus, but really I would rather do this than keep people waiting or put out half assed work for the sake of continuing. Outside of my derby submission, I also have something else cooking. It's still early in the works, but I will say I intend to either be a spiritual successor to TWB, or a rewrite of the story. Once I start writing out scenes, I will make my decision. I will say again, I am sorry to everyone to the lack of progress and updates, and regardless of what I chose to do with this side project I am working on, I hope you stick around and enjoy it. If you are interested in what I might be doing in the future, I have my discord link in my bio. I'll post updates there.

Rise for the Sky [Slow-Pace Multi-Lead Dungeon Crawler]
Sixty people have awoken at the bottom of a one hundred floor dungeon. Together they must confront the terror of monsters and seek the answers to why they are here. Expectations: This story is written from multiple perspectives, male and female. Most chapters are a single person, but there will be chapters where there are a couple of quick scenes with different people. The story does take place in a dungeon, but there is no leveling system. This a realistic take on the classic litRPG and iskai tropes written like a traditional novel. There is a profanity warning because I wish to be natural with how people talk and cursing is a thing people do. So it will happen where it makes sense. Gore is warned because this is a realistic take, and people will be torn apart by monsters. I don't plan to be overly detailed with it but be warned it will happen. Updates Every Monday. Chapters will be between 3,000 to 5,000 words. Fulfill Patreon goals to increase updates

8 196Meg The Heavenly Merchant
Updates once a week.(This is a rough draft) Author's Note: This story has grown in ways I did not predict and while it still features a merchant those aspects have gotten less page time than the fighting and romance elements. I have updated the description to represent the story better) For the past fourteen years Meg has dedicated herself to walking the path of a Heavenly Dragon Knight in her favorite videogame, Tattered Realms:Chaos Age. But now the game is shutting down and everyone wants to know what she plans to do for the sequel. Meg isn't sure at first. She knows only that she yearns for the days when she could lose herself in a game without worrying about boss strategies and crushing her rivals. And when her friend suggests playing a merchant her heart is filled with the same wanderlust and inspiration that launched her gaming career in the first place. But if she isn't dominating dungeons and setting records will people still watch her play? And can she really walk away from all the fighting for a quiet life of buying and selling?
8 102Demonic Devourer's Development
The most powerful demon of Hell reduced to a mere slug! Thanks to his unique ability to absorb skills of the creatures he ate, Voren became the strongest demon in Hell. But just when he was ready to relax and enjoy the luxuries he conquered, gods descended from Heaven to take him down. One against many, Voren fought valiantly, but in the end, he was defeated. Still, the gods couldn’t break his spirit. He lost all his demonic powers, but even all of gods’ efforts couldn’t wipe out Voren’s memories—and his unique ability. As a last attempt to destroy him, gods made Voren reincarnate as one of the lowest creatures there is—a slug. But even that won’t stop Voren from taking his immortality back and getting his revenge. He will reach Heaven… through violence. And enjoy everything the mortal realm can offer on his way there. This story is also published on Webnovel and I publish chapters on it 2 days earlier.
8 90The Lost Lord: Aymon Chronicles
There has been bad blood for centuries between the Skadjans and the Osknians. It was only a matter of time before the Skadjans attempted to take back what was originally theirs from the start-- the continent of Osknia. Caught up in the crossfire is lord of Khudril, Alaric Aymon, who is taken by pirates amidst the chaos of a Skadjan-led siege and shipped off to a far away land where Goblins rule and a high price is the reward for an Osknian lord. However, the journey to Gobblesfled is not as straight forward as it would seem, even for seasoned pirates of the sea. As Alaric Aymon attempts to find his way back home, he is beginning to realize the rise of the Skadjans is not without a darker magic spurring them on, and there may be much darker implications for his beloved land of Khudril, and worse, for all of Osknia.
