And in a single night, it all burned to ash. When the outbreak of war destroys his hometown, Charles is charged with escorting his family’s sacred treasure—a recipe book passed down for untold generations—out of harm's way. But his simple mission grows complicated when he’s captured by one of the most feared battalions in the world: the Spears of Mercy. Life as a prisoner in their war camp is brutal and uncertain. Charles has few allies and even fewer strengths to rely on. Only his skills in the culinary arts, honed over a lifetime in the kitchen, are deemed useful enough to keep him alive another day. But he’s not out of hope just yet. With a dash of wit, a pinch of luck, and some very creative cooking, he might just find a way to recover his family’s legacy and take back his freedom. This project is a food-themed fantasy that centers on cooking and chefs. The setting spans a wide world featuring ingredients/recipes both real and inspired by traditional fantasy. I'll eventually be publishing it as a full-length novel (or series of novels depending on length). These are the first draft chapters. I'll likely be re-writing more than once, then editing before publishing, so impressions and feedback are quite welcome. If you like the story so far and you're interested in being an early reviewer for the final product, feel free to message me. I'm looking for an artist to make some concept art and a cover (the cover shown here is just a temporary placeholder). A stand-alone novel for now, but it may turn into a series down the road.

Bored, I browsed my spam folder. I clicked on some interesting spam, summoning me to another world. All I have is this dagger: [Dagger] Broad leaf blade made by a dwarf blacksmith while drinking. Hilt slapped on by an elf high on shrooms. The handle is pleasantly smooth, which makes for a terrible gripping experience. Upgradeable, if you upgrade it. Has a chance of killing something if you stab said something in the right place. Fully editable Google Doc for the whole story.

Keiran's brother disappeared through a bright flashing light when he was younger. Years later, trapped in the inferno of a castle under siege, his only escape is rushing towards a similar light. He finds himself in a cold dark prison cell. His captures are aliens that kidnap lesser beings and force them to fight in an arena for their amusement. Those that show promise are injected with nanobots to create stronger combatants for more entertaining games. How will he get back home, and more important. Is his brother still alive? I just wanted to say thanks for taking the time to read my work. Everything posted here is mostly the first draft for a book that I am work on. When complete it will have between 30-40 chapters & roughly 70k words. I'm very new to writing so hopefully over time you will see an improvement. This is also a side hobby so new chapters may be slow I"m sorry. Work and my family take priority. Thanks again for your time and please leave feedback as that helps me improve my writing.

Each verse in this Sekai realm are stories that completely change Hartea's character and the world and setting the Sekai in which is this one originally was in. The entire Sekai series is based on elements of American comics, mythology from all over the world, famous historical writings such as Journey To The West, The Odyssey, Dante's Inferno, and many many more to all come together to bring out a grand adventure.
