《Another world? what's the difference?》Chapter 164 "An attempt"

"stop it..? but you are human with steel too.."
The Wapeer looked at Chorin.
"we are soldier, but we don't want to resurrect Samhra"
"why? lot of human with steel in our forest... they searched for the heart.."
"the heart?"
Chanotte decided not thinking too much about it. What's matter now was to convince this Wapeer that they weren't its enemies.
"...we are traitors.. not in the same side. Do you understand? so tell us where these soldiers are, and we will stop them"
Chorin looked at him with a dissatisfied looks. He wanted to protest toward Chanotte's words but he knew that now was not the best moment to do that.
"traitors.. not friend with those humans? -krrr-"
Its claws were relaxed and there's no murderous intention coming from its eyes.
Feeling that, Chanotte also lowered his sword.
"so, you will take us there or what?"
".... can't decide, ask Roro first.."
"Roro? who's that?"
"Roro, the strongest.. the Ga'rhani"
"....so he is the strongest Wapeer?"
"yes -krr-"
The Wapeer nodded.
It was moving its head left to right while its reptile pupils kept observing the man in front of it.
"then... to Roro's place.."
-zrrg-
The Wapeer turned around and ready to move, yet Chorin stopped it with his question.
"wait a second... what was a Wapeer like you doing here? near the wall?"
It stopped and looked at him.
"....."
Chanotte already had this question when the first time he saw this Wapeer coming out from the forest, but he wanted to make the priority first... to stop Libhane's plan. And to do that, he tried as much as he could to make this Wapeer helped them.
Clearly, asking its reason coming to this place was not the best way to achieve that.

"forgive me sir, but i think we can't just follow this creature without knowing the reason. Beside, i know where Libhane's soldiers are. We don't need this creature's help"
Chorin actually made a good reason.
The Wapeer stood still.
-zrrg-
-zriing-
Chanotte raised his sword again because the Wapeer tried to approach his friend.
"what do you want to do?"
"....this human -krr-"
It pointed to the crest on Chorin's plate armor. It's the Bar'laghine symbol.
"that drawing .... on the steel... you're with them, looking for the heart.."
"looking for the heart? you mean Chorin?"
Chanotte looked at him.
"can you enlighten me Chorin?"
"...sure sir. This creature probably saw me when i went with Libhane's soldier. He ordered me to assist them with their mission"
"what's their mission? and.. you didn't mention this before"
"I wanted to tell you while we're going to the place. Explain everything here will be wasting our time"
Chanotte nodded and talked to the Wapeer.
"you've heard the man. He was like me, a traitor"
"-krrr- I don't understand.. you're searching the heart, but want to stop Samhra?"
It scratched its head.
"you're not answering my question yet monster! what're you doing here?!"
It was silent.
"can't answer... talk to Roro"
"-sigh- seriously.... that's why a monster like you is.."
"stop it Chorin. I think this Roro can give us some useful information"
"but... I get it. If you are sure about that, then I'll follow you"
"thanks. I will take responsibility if something goes south"
The Wapeer stared at them.
"human.. you will follow or not?"
-crek-
Chanotte sheathed his sword.
"yes, lead the way"
-zrrg-
-zrrg-
The Wapeer started to walk with its two back feet. Clearly it's not a comfortable way to walk for a Wapeer. It normally walked or ran with four of its feet on the ground.

Chanotte realized that and said to it.
"can you go faster? we will follow you from behind"
It turned around and looked at him.
"faster? you human will be left behind.."
"no need to worry. Let's go to Roro place with your full speed"
"-krr- If you say so ...."
It leaned down and changed its position from standing to crawling. Its tail was moving up and down.
"Chorin, let's go"
He nodded and used his skill along with Chanotte.
[WIND STEPPER II]
Green aura covered their feet and legs. When they gave a signal to go, the Wapeer ran foward with an incredible speed.
-whooosh-
With the Wapeer as their guide, running with their full speed in the forest at night was not a problem. Also they didn't need to worry about other monsters because the most dangerous monster in the forest was Wapeer.
Chanotte focused to the Wapeer's movement.
"let's hope I'm not making any stupid decision here.."
He's mumbling while going deeper into the forest.

Far Strider
A college student finds himself transported into a strange land with burgeoning magical powers, and is taken in by Ned Stark. Will he sink or swim in this medieval society, and will he ever get home? ====================== OC-insert without knowledge of Game of Thrones, new planeswalker. Slow power ramp. Second crossover: Star Wars (around chapter 39). ======================= As a note, I started this as a speed writing challenge to myself. The challenge was successful, and I managed 100,000+ words (as well as some character sheets in excel and such) over 10.5 days. Then I had to stop and let my hands recover from their burgeoning carpal tunnel syndrome. The story currently stands at around 150,000 words (or ~550 RRL pages) over 54 chapters; expect a chapter a day until I've caught up with the backlog. The focus of this story was not quality writing, and that hasn't changed. I mostly use it as my semi-guilty "I need to write something, but am not focused enough to write something good" story. Expect self-indulgent writing in general, and a bit of OP (or, well, more than just a bit if we're being honest), especially later in the story as the protagonist matures into a more full-blown Planeswalker. But if you're looking for something with a power-ramping protagonist romping around the place, something you'd be a bit embarrassed to admit liking (I know I am) but like anyways (and come on, this is RRL, so that probably describes just about everyone here who actually has shame), then this may be a nice bit of mental junk food for you.

Waking Up
The story of Larin the Builder in the aftermath of Awakening This short story is the epilogue of Awakening, the first book of the Chronicles of Mother's Gate series. This epilogue is a great follow-up to the novel, a bonus story that adds extra layers between books without being necessary to the main storyline.Waking Up follows the story of Larin, who is alive but unconscious after her ordeal in the Nine Hells. She awakens in A'lara City a few days later and recuperates under the steadfast care of her repentant friend Jorn.As she reacclimates to her waking state, Larin struggles with her gruesome memories of the Hells and her decision to conceal them from Jorn. This story answers the question, Is Larin all right? with a resounding yes, and some storms on the horizon. It also raises the question, What happened to her down there? and includes an excerpt from the sister story Falling Down, about Larin's ordeal in the Nine Hells. Praise for Waking Up and Falling Down: Loved it. The difference between the two stories is great! The difference between Waking Up and Falling Down is astounding. So much light and love in the first story. You feel safe reading it. Healing. The second, so much darkness, pain and despair. The choice of vocabulary is awesome and makes an impact. And this set of short stories ties the two books together so well.-- Dana V. of Texas ★★★★★
