The sun was high and the preparation was almost finished. All the villager gathered at the plaza.

A very big pot was filled with hot soup and some mixed meats inside of it. Several kinds of potato dishes and salads surrounded the big pot.

So many foods and it really was true to its name, earthly feasting festival. All of them made a big circle with the twenty fighters at the inner circle. The women served them with all of those foods and made sure they got what they wanted.

While they were eating, several women came to the inner circle and danced with colorful outift following by energic movements.

Shanti, Phyna, and the other young women were performing that dance. It was such a pleasant scenery because they did it very well.

Many enthusiastic responses came from the people who watched it and that also including the fighters.

They spent half of the day just like that. The festival continued, until the sky slowly turned into the night.

Around one hundred soldiers stood on the middle of it. They anxiously waited for their leader for this expedition to the southeast, to exterminate a monster village.

After some few minutes, Chanotte came and stood in front of them. He stared at them with quite intense looks. He only could see a terrible fate waiting for them if they went with him to the Half-beast village.

"they are very inexperienced... most of them even never have a real battle experience.."

He didn't understand why commander Libhane insisted him to bring all these green soldiers to the Half-beast village. But in the end, he didn't bother too much about it.

The soldiers spirit were lifted up by his words and they suddenly became really excited to do this expedition.

"this should be enough" Chanotte mumbled

One of the soldier approached him and wanted to confirm for the next plan.

"sir? when will we depart?"

"I've already gotten the commander permission, we should depart as soon as possible"

"as your command sir. Will half big sand (one hour) be enough for the preparation?"

"that wouldn't be a problem"

"understood sir"

They were disbanded and would be regroup at the outside of the front gate. Chanotte also went back to his room and packed his goods that he would need for the expedition.

He prepared to leave the room but his sight stopped at a letter on the table near his bed.

"father.... I'm sorry I can't go back home... there's something that i need to do as the chief of king's guard"

He remembered what was written on the letter. His father was sick and must lay on his bed. This condition was already occured for two weeks now.

Of course he really wanted to go back to the capital, but he couldn't just leave his duty as the chief of king's guard here. His Majesty personally asked and sent him here to protect the south border of their kingdom.

"I'll ask the commander for the permission to leave after i finish this expedition"

He headed to the front gate and one hundred soldiers already waited for him.
