Khall opened his eyes. He found out that he was in some kind of underground room. He could know that from the air flow inside the room.
"you're.....awake..."
He could see Marleus's face in front of him. He was tied with a black chain and he sat on a steel chair.
"what's the meaning of this?"
He tried to pull the chain but there's no significant response.
"to... prevent you.... doing unnecessary....thing...."
He already expected this kind of scenario because he didn't trust human in the first place. So what did he have in mind?
His plan was to escape from that place when he got the power that he wanted. He would wait for that chance.
"human.... to think you broke your own promise"
"promise....? what....did.. Chillyd promise.....to you?"
"he said he would make me stronger"
"....then... he still keep.....his promise...."
"what do you mean by that?"
"I....will....make....you....become stronger.." Marleus moved his head a little
"with doing this to me?"
"..... that's necessary....to do..."
He went to the table that was near the wall and he brought back a copper bowl on his hands.

The liquid inside the bowl moved a little and made a sound. Khall could see a red liquid drop from it.
"this strong scent .... is that blood?"
"as.... expected....from a Half-beast...."
Marleus held the bowl on his left hand and grabbed Khall's face with his right hand.
"let's....start....the experiment...."
He stared at him with a dilated pupils.
"-kkgghh- wh....re...."
Khall's jaw was being forcedly opened by Marleus grip and he saw that Marleus poured the liquid inside the bowl to his throat.

Khall was really confused. He tried to move his head as strong as he could yet Marleus's grip wasn't affected at all.

The copper bowl was thrown to the floor and there's nothing left inside of it. Marleus let his hand off and left the room.
"kgggaah!!! -kkgghh- what... kkkggh.. "
Khall was trying to vomit the liquid that he just drank but he didn't succeed.
A very unpleasant flavor left in his mouth. With its strong scent and unique flavor, he was still trying to figure it out.
"that human is crazy.... his eyes weren't normal...."
He was starting to doubt his chance to escape from this place.
"just what situation I'm getting into..."

"what....is happening.."
He could feel something happening inside his body. His chest started getting warmer and his muscle was getting tense. His blood felt like a boiling water inside a big pot.
"-krrrrrrrrr- what's wrong....with my body..."

The chain responded to Khall's movements. His strength now couldn't be compared with his first attempt to break the chain.
"kkghh...hhgghh.... RHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA"
His howl ringed in the entire room.

"father, can i have a moment?"
"sure Mugha, come in"
Mugha sat and told his purpose to his father.
"all the fighters including me was ready to give our soul for the last howl sacrifice ritual"
"-fuuh- so.... it finally comes to this..." The elder sighed
"forgive me father... if i was strong enough to protect all of our people"
"what do you mean? we're still alive and it's because of you"
"...but the bigger threat will come. And i don't have any way to stop that"
".... it's really a shame my son... for I, the elder of our tribe can't do anything about this situation.. i rather sacrifice my own soul....but that will become a disgrace for our beast god ROGNIR... this old pathetic soul won't do..."

Mugha took his leave and left his father alone to think about their tribe's fate.
