Shanti walked through the main street. She was avoiding people's look and stay away from their sight. She kept pulling her hood to make sure her ears were not visible.
She could hear some people complaining about the water quality. After saw what happened at the water source in the forest, she hardly wanted to drink the water again.
"... to think human can do something so cruel" She mumbled
She tried to focus with the task that was given to her by her alpha. She was heading to the sword of light statue. That's where her task begin.
"i can't fail, need to focus and do it as sir Yana said"
She took her breath and remembered what Yana said at the inn. She still couldn't believe it 100%, even until now. To think that something so horrible could happen made her praying for her beast god protection. Such horrible thing was totally out of her imagination.
After walked for few minutes, she could see the statue. She approached it and looked to its tip. Then, she looked around to make sure some soldiers patrolling around the area.
"ok, this should be enough"
-zraab-
She took off her cloak and let all the people in that place seen her. Her long silver hair was blown by the wind. Her fox ears were clearly seen by the others. It took a while before the town people understood about what's happened.
"mama, look, that lady has animal ears and tail!" one of the child pointed at her
-whaaaaaaa-
People screamed and panicked at the same time. They were running from the plaza and tried to save themselves. The soldiers gathered and surrounded the plaza.
"monster!!! how can you enter this town!! surrender now!"
Shanti just stood there and looked at them. She activated her beast mode and stared at the sword of light statue again.

"hey!! do you understand our language?! surrender or we will make you so!!"
The archers with their crossbow stand by and some soldiers also chanted their skill at the back line.
-whoosh-
She dashed and the soldiers took their stance.
"get ready!! she will.... what?"
They were confused. Shanti not came at their direction, instead she headed to the statue. Only in a few seconds, she already climbed up the statue.
"shoot that monster!!! don't let her do whatever she's trying to do!!"
-whuuush-
Many arrows flew to her direction.
-whuuk-
All of them missed their target. Shanti kept climbing the statue while avoided all that projectiles. The soldiers with their skill also started to attack her.
[FIRE BALL I]
-whoom-
-dhar-
Shanti dodged that too. They kept attacking and she could evade all of it. In her beast mode, that kind of projectiles were really slow for her.
"-fuuh- this statue is quite high.." Shanti stood at the tip of the statue.
She could see the entire town from there, even Dhanglin forest and the forest where they buried those elves this morning.
Now, all kind of projectiles or ranged skill would lose its effectiveness. Shanti already out of their range attack. She looked down to the soldiers and saw their clueless expression.
-sshhhh-
She took a deep breath and shouted to them.
"GOOD PEOPLE OF BAR'LAGHINE!! LISTEN TO ME! THE COMMANDER AND HIS SOLDIERS WERE POLLUTING YOUR WATER SOURCE!!"
People started to whisper and they also showed confused expression on their face. While the soldiers were panic when they heard it.
"holy mother, what on that monster is talking about"
"this would be dangerous, how she know about that...."
"haah.... commander will be mad at us...."
Some of the people approached them and asked about the truth.

"hey, what's that monster talking about?! is that true? our water problem caused by you? not wapeer?!"
"tell us! it's your duty to solve that problem! now a monster told us that you're the one that responsible for that?!'
The situation became quite out of control. Almost like they forgot about Shanti's presence.
"this far... is still just like sir Yana said"
She looked at the commotion from above and thought about the next thing that she needed to say according to the plan.

Fighting to be Kind in a Cultivation World
Aren't you tired of the typical cultivation story, where an isekai'd person comes into the world and becomes a brutal or selfish person? I know I am. So instead of being fully changed by the world, I want this protagonist to stick to their beliefs and help to change the world (and people) for the better. There will still be main character development and tests of those beliefs, but I want them to maintain that aspect. Brief Synopsis:American is thrown into a typical Xuanhuan cultivation world where the masses of the people are typically sacrificed for the abilities of the few. This is meant to be an alternate take on how protagonists approach these worlds. Main character comes into the world w/ scanning, healing, and monster taming abilities. The release schedule will begin on Dec 1st. The schedule is 2 chapters/week (Tue & Fri) at 11pm. Please like, comment, and follow, as that helps me to gauge interest in the series. Final note: I notice that many cultivation novels treat abuse or sexual assault as a throwaway tool to set a stage. I think the way it is normally done is both lazy and a disrespectful to victims. If you have any suggestions on how I can improve the way I've done it in this series, please let me know. I want to do this the right way. P.S. *Nudge, nudge* If you are looking for a sneak peek of up to 16 chapters ahead, check out my Patreon. :D

Theomancer
My very own first book: I know it won't be perfect, so any constructive criticism would be appreciated. A peculiar reject from modern society ends up as one of the summoned people in another world, but will the premise hold up to the reality of things? only one way to find out! Follow an irascible Darwin's adventures while he pioneers his class in a whole new world, where colors and willpower are two of the most important things, besides respecting the Gods (and avoiding stronger pricks that are just waiting for an excuse to trample someone). -first-person, portal fantasy, litrpg -the cover is my crude attempt with Paint
