-dhaar-
The thing attacked with its claws and slammed the ground. Ragha dodged and threw punch.
-buugh-
He was sure that his punch was hit on his target, yet it didn't show any effect. He let out his claws and aimed them at the leg of his enemy.
-zrrub-
His claws couldn't pierce its target. The flesh of that thing was not as hard as steel, yet he couldn't pierce it. It semeed like the flesh become very thick.
"just what.."
-whuuum-
It whipped its tail and opened its mouth after launching that attack. Ragha dodged the first attack and prepared to face the next one. Only few meters until his enemy got him, yet he stood still there.
"ghrrrrr" That thing got closer
That long mouth with so many sharp teeth already opened in front of him.
"-fuuh-" Shanti took her breath
-zraaash-
Her claws pierced the cheek of that thing. Fresh blood was splattered and this burn wound could be seen from where Shanti buried her claws.
"ghrreeekk" That thing felt the pain
It tried to get off from Shanti and shaked its head. Shanti couldn't maintain her position and she was gotten blown away from it.
"it worked! what do you think Shanti?"
"it has some kind of enhanced defense on entire body. I could feel it when i attack it"
"maybe it has something to do with that blue scale?"
"!! why i didn't realize it sooner. You're right Ragha! it enhances the defense using life force from the nature. That's why the scales are glowing like that"
"then, your attack is the only one that will work because ordinary physical attack won't penetrate it"
"seems so, I'll let the distraction to you" She prepared to attack again
That thing still felt pain from the wound on its cheek. Growling sound could be heard from it. It moved backward slowly and kept its distance from the two of them.

"seemed it doesn't want to continue fighting"
"should we chase it? sir Yana?"
"can you win?"
"judge by its reaction, we can win"
"i see, then leave it. You don't have to chase it"
"understood sir Yana, we will leave....eh?!" She turned at his direction
"are you really sure savior?"
"yes Ragha. Leave it"
Sensing an opportunity to run away, that thing quickly ran and back to the forest. Meanwhile Shanti and Ragha felt so confused with their savior's decision.
"why..we don't chase it sir Yana?"
"because two reasons. First, i think those soldiers are aware with this wapeer existence in this place"
"forgive me, wa..per?"
"hm? don't you remember what the barkeeper said? about this wapeer problem?"
"I'm sure I've heard it.... somewhere" Ragha scratched his head
"then, why if the soldiers aware of this wapeer existence?"
"well, what will you do if you found a dead body of creature that you know it couldn't be killed by normal people?"
"become...alert and. supiscious?"
"yes. We don't want to rise some unnecessary problem, don't we?"
"ah, that's right. And the second reason?"
"why do you think that wapeer decided to run away? even tho it knew you could chase it?"
"because it's their insting to save it's life"
"i could understand if it already got some serious damage, but that's not the case here"
"mmmm, true.. i don't know sir Yana" Shanti shaked her head
"well, how about group? a wapeer group that hide in the forest somewhere?"
"it has group?!"
"could you imagine? how that thing can survive in this place? assuming that lot of soldiers kept coming here to throw all that corpses?"
"now you've mentioned it...."
"from its gesture, behavior, and how it battle just now, that wapeer totally not an alpha or really strong monster" Yana added

Ragha bowed and shouted.
"impressive! as expected from our savior!"
"I'll take that compliment Ragha"
"hm, what i need to do just believed in you sir Yana"
"well then, you can continue to burry them. Then we head back to the town"
"understood!" Both of them replied
They started to gather the corpses into the hole and buried them. It took almost one hour to finish all the process. It closed with Shanti's prayer then they prepared to head back to the town.
"should we go now sir Yana?"
"yes, let's head back"
They passed through the forest really fast because they already knew the way back to the town. After they arrived near the gate, Shanti put down Yana and they started to walk. But Yana stopped both of them.
"both of you, wait"
"what's wrong sir Yana?"
"cover your head, your ears are really visible right now"
"!! we're really forget about it. I'm sorry"
They immediately put their hood to cover their ears.
"now let's we head to Sword's grip bar"
"why we go to that bar sir Yana? we're going to have lunch there?"
"we can if you want tho, but that's not the reason"
"no, i prefer miss Pan's food" Shanti nodded
"ahaha, then we will have lunch at Pan"
"then why sir Yana?"
"you will see"
They walked around ten minutes from the gate until they reached the bar. It's still closed and the door was closed too.
"i think they're not open yet"
"don't worry. Remember what Chanotte said?"
"to gather here when we want to meet him?"
"yes, and this is the time"
-krieet-
Yana opened the door and saw a man with red hair sat near the counter. He approached him and greeted him.
"good day sir, are you.."
"please, help him"
He didn't wait Yana till he finished his words. He stared at his eyes and gave this desperate aura from his looks.

Re: Dragonize
After an unexpected turn of events, Drew must now survive in a world full of challenges with life-or-death stakes. Gone are the days when the biggest problems to face were awkward small-talk at physics department luncheons or mountains of lab work; this former physicist is now adrift in an unfamiliar land without any equipment. Now, Drew's only tool (if it can be called that) is a System, which provides constant reminders of all of the things that are still out of reach for a low-level being who's just arrived in a new world. Luckily, Drew has one powerful asset when taking on the challenges of this new world: surviving violent conflict is a lot easier when you have the power of a dragon at your disposal. Still, Drew has always considered violence a last resort. Why turn to fists (or claws) when a bit of quiet consideration might expose a better path forward? Maybe a life of quiet contemplation is still within reach for this former academic researcher. ...Or maybe not. It probably won't be a life of bloodless pacifism. Additional information for those who wish to calibrate their expectations (I'm adding this based on a few comments I received from readers who feel that the story is not what they expected from a dragon-themed story): Re: Dragonize is not a power fantasy -- or at least, it's not intended to be one. Re: Dragonize is a progression fantasy starting with a protagonist who must start at the bottom (or close to it), and work gradually upwards, making incremental progress with plenty of setbacks along the way. The protagonist, as someone coming from the world of academia, tends to be cautious, methodical, and contemplative. As such, expect this story to contain more than a few digressions as the main character takes the time to pontificate on a variety of topics ranging from Newtonian physics and horology to the nature of existence and the ethical dilemmas associated with being an obligate carnivore.

The Good Crash: An Oral History of the Post-Scarcity Collapse
"Don't we all feel, deep down, that we deserve the apocalypse?" APRIL, 2028—Global capitalism has collapsed. America has sealed itself off from the outside world, and inside its borders, a revolution rages. All it took was one incredible little machine. That machine turned into two, then four, then eight... like a virus, the replicators spread. As a work of oral history, The Good Crash features over 50 interviews with key witnesses to the events of 2027. The text is rendered in the words used by the interviewees themselves, with light editing for clarity and concision. As such, the book contains language and themes that are not appropriate for children.By capturing the voices to the people at the very root of the revolution, journalist and historian R. Vondersnitch has traced the origins and aftermath of the replicators' rapid spread. Crucially, the book also includes perspectives and testimony from those who attempted to stop the spread of the reps. "Some of these are heroes, too, in their own ways," the author writes in the book's introductory note.
