-kkgghh-
Chanotte woke up in his cells. Sweats covered all of his body. Seemed he remembered some bad memories from his past.
"it's because his weird questions.....i remembered those..."
He found a bucket filled with fresh water near him. He still couldn't believe they did this to their prisoner.
"the fact that I'm thinking that way means that i also already become one of them.....those trash human..."
He splashed his face with the water and a fresh sensation could be felt on his face. He took a deep breath and stretched his body. His great sword was leaned on the corner of his cells.
".....they even didn't took my weapon.."
He decided to back sit and reminisced what have already happened before he got caught here.
"it's already six months since i left my house....i wonder how're father and Tinne doing..."
He leaned his head to the wall. The cold air was lingering in this underground room. He let out a small breath.
"commander Libhane....black testament....just what's going on..as far as i see, all those creatu...no, all the other races was really surprised when they saw us, humans.."
"i hope that man could answer it..."
He remembered how Yana knew everything that he didn't. It totally didn't make any sense.
"yet he destroyed all of my soldiers...and me....seemed i have to accept the reality.."
Chanotte was really confused. He was the chief of king's guard. That's meant he was the strongest soldier in the entire capital. Yet Yana could dodge his attacks, he couldn't hit him even in his [IMPERIAL ZONE] area.
"regardless my wound and the burden of all of my skills.... it's still really strange.."
While thinking, he lost track of the time. He faintly heard a noise coming from the village, the elder house more precisely.

"i wonder what's happened.."
-clack- the sound of the door was opened by one of the Half-beast. He brought some wheat bread and others food.
"here, your breakfast"
He put it near the trail and prepared to leave, but Chanotte stopped him.
"hey, what's going on? i heard a noise coming from the village"
"...." He reluctantly looked at him
"well, if you don't wanna tell me then it's okay"
"... it's Shanti. She announced that she wasn't capable anymore as our shaman"
"Shanti?....ah.."
Chanotte remembered. He didn't know who's her name, but if they said shaman then it must be her. The woman who cried and prayed for him. He remembered her unique clothes.
"why she became not capable?"
"she...gives herself to our savior"
"gives? you mean her loyalty?"
"everything. Her heart, body, loyalty, and true self"
"...i see..i get the picture"
"..."
"why are you giving that look?"
"we are really happy of course. Our savior want to accept one of us as his, but in the other hand finding a new capable candidate is quite hard"
"i see"
"well, Shanti's really happy so that's what matter i think"
The Half-beast left him and back to the village.
"giving herself huh? at least this time they do it based on their willingness"
He touched his forehead and sighed.
"i remembered bad memories again.."
In the village, the villager already gathered and made some noises. Yana and Shanti were in the middle of it.
"we... really honored that you would accept Shanti, but finding another capable candidate would be quite hard"
"it must meet the minimum amount of life's energy?"
"yes, in fact, we choose it based on their life's energy. The large amount of it is the sign that our beast god ROGNIR has chosen her"

"hmm, what do you think Shanti?" He looked at her
Shanti bowed to everyone at the place.
"everyone!! I'm really sorry! i know my duty as a shaman is really important for this village...and I'm really sorry because i neglect that for my selfishness"
"-sigh- you know all of us doesn't have any problem with your decision. We just have a little confusion here"
"the elder is right Shanti! you finally know what you want and what make you happy. There's no way we would take that from you" Phyna followed
"thank you everyone.." Shanti smiled and wanted to cry at the same time
Ohre village's people lost their shaman, but also received a great honor by having one of them on their savior's side.

He is a driven and irritable young man, consumed by a desire to ensure his own future and free himself of the influence of his family, whom he resents for favoring his brothers over him. Consequently, he has no time for pointless distractions or paying attention to other people's problems. As it happens, time is something he is about to get plenty of. On the eve of the Cyoria's annual summer festival, he is killed and brought back to the beginning of the month, just before he was about to take a train to Cyoria. Suddenly trapped in a time loop with no clear end or exit, Zorian will have to look both within and without to unravel the mystery before him. And he does have to unravel it, for the time loop hadn't been made for his sake and dangers lurk everywhere... Repetition is the mother of learning, but Zorian will have to first make sure he survives to try again - in a world of magic, even a time traveler isn't safe from those who wish him ill. ********************************** If anyone is interested, I have a story-related worldbuilding site that can be found here. I don't update it as often as I should, but there is a fair amount of content there already. It also contains a page with all the fanart, fan translations, audio books and the like - you can reach it directly by clicking this link. I have a patreon account for those kind people that want to give me money. It also contains info for those who want to donate via paypal. The story was originally posted on fictionpress, back in 2011. When I reached chapter 91, I started uploading the story to RoyalRoad, one chapter per day. The story will continue to be updated on fictionpress as well as here, and can be reached by clicking on this link if somebody is interested, though at this point there is nothing there that isn't also on RoyalRoad. ********************************** The cover you see on the side has been made by a fellow RoyalRoad user Sydorow. Thank you for your time and art skills.

Beast
A threat to the galaxy has come from another, and the Union of intelligent life will go to any length to stop it. Military Quarantine has held for hundreds of thousands of cycles. Traders, merchants, colonists, and Pirates live risky lives along the fringes as the politics from the inner systems fail to see the larger threats beyond their borders. A lone human finds himself far from home with no memories to how he arrived. A failing Trade vessel plays on a desperate gamble, while a malicious parasite searches for a suitable host. ............................................. Author's note: Beast is a story that I wrote a long, long time ago. Some of you might have read it then, back when it was posted on reddit over at r/HFY. It was my first webfiction and made in the spirit of that subreddit's "genre" of humanity being awesome. But, it is also a story that has bothered me a little bit. Just like most new writers tend to do, I made mistakes and errors that feel painful to reread. A Space Opera will be a Space Opera, but I had prose that makes present-me cringe. Still, at the same time, the story is still very much a tale I've never given up on. It was my first adventure into fiction: Beast was a crazy adventure with bodysnatching aliens, galactic war, threats from across the universe... Posting this story here is a way to try and redeem myself a bit. I won't call it a complete rewrite, because it's not, but I have wanted to go through and correct some of the major issues Beast has for a long time and put it somewhere more accessible to read (instead of as posts/comments on reddit) and I figure that now is as good a time as any. Additional corrections you might notice are welcome.

After the Hero, Olympius, son of God, defeated the Demon King and uncovered his evil plot of infiltrating humanity with demons, the world returned to balance. People could live in peace again, not having to worry if their lives were in constant danger. But after a long time, darkness started brewing again in the world.
