《Another world? what's the difference?》Chapter 31 "The night"

It took around thirty minutes for the women to finish their bath while the men already stayed at the village. They spent their time by idling and chatting. The children played with their friends and the mother just chilled and relaxed.
Shanti went to the elder's house. She wanted to report the preparation progress to Yana.
She arrived and looked around, but couldn't find Yana in his room.
"hm, maybe he's still outside"
When she went to the first floor, she heard a splashing sound coming from the backyard. The elder usually took his bath in the backyard because he didn't want to walk to the river.
"elder have you seen...."
Shanti was shocked. She wasn't see the elder, instead she saw Yana with his well muscular body, naked. Yana's body didn't have fur like they did. His ears also very short and not hairy like them. He also didn't have tail.
"so this is human? strange..." Shanti was busy with her mind
"hm? Shanti? what's wrong?" Yana realized her presence
"ah! no...nothing sir Yana.. I just want to report about our preparation progress for tonight.." Shanti eyes were not so focused
"I see. Garga already told me earlier"
"elder? un.. understood"
Shanti ears were down and her tail also faced downside. Only the tip of her tail that moved slightly. She was panic, and she couldn't hide it.
"then, you can wait in the house. I'll finish in moment"
"I'll do that sir Yana" Shanti quickly left the backyard
She waited in the first floor. The sound of splashing still could be heard.

Her heartbeat couldn't be controlled. It almost like she's in the beast mode, but this was another....mode...
"that Pyhna..... why would she talk a nonsense like that.."
"Shanti? you're finished cleaned yourself?" the elder's voice woke her up

"....yes, I'm already finished"
"good. Then I assume you will pray to the God for giving us our savior and victory?"
"yes, I'll do that" Shanti took her leave
She walked to the ritual place. She kneeled and prayed.
"o mighty God, our beast god ROGNIR, thank you for the blessings, thank you for hearing our pray"
She couldn't fully focus to her pray. The earlier event still lingered in her mind.
"a shaman shouldn't be like this.... what am I thinking...."
The sun started to set and the sky slowly turned into a calm dark colour. The night was come, and the party would be held.
All of the people gathered and took their position. The bonfire was lighted up and that was a signal that the party was started.
They sang their tribe's song. A drum voice could be heard. A harmony of the sound filled the place. They totally celebrated it.
The drum voice were getting louder. From the south, the elder and Yana approached them. Both of them used some kind of clothes with many intricate ornaments.
Yana used a headband with gold trimmer. Its basic colour was red with many ornaments from some kind of exotic birds feathers. The clothes was like robe from fur and another soft fabric.
"whuuaa, look Shanti! our savior is really looking good with our king's clothes! don't you...." Phyna stopped her teasing
She wanted to tease Shanti, yet she suprised when she saw Shanti's expression.
She just stood there. Her eyes opened wide with all the excitement and many other feelings mixed there. It almost like her eyes were glittering. Her gesture, her expression, Phyna never saw something like that. Not even when they had a good meal, or when they celebrated something.
-throb-
-throb-
"....." Shanti couldn't express her feeling
Phyna felt some jealousy towards Shanti. She never could feel something like that, not even towards their savior. Something that was far over what they could imagine... pure love.
"geez Shanti....."
The party started that night.

A Friendly Voidling
When a Creature of the Void fails to find friendship among her own kind, she instead sets her sights upon another, human-filled world. Unfortunately, humans turn out to be rather small and squishy things, resulting in a mostly accidental trail of death, destruction and madness as she embarks on her journey to finally make some friends. This is a 25k word inane short story, and makes no attempt at being serious or realistic. It's my first attempt at trying a more comedic writing style. No relation to my other stories, aside from a brief cameo. Cover bodged together with Charat Genesis. Not quite the design I had in mind, but reasonably close. Doesn't contain explicit smut, but does contain references to stuff happening off-screen. May contain traces of gore. Also eels, in varying states of distress. Posted here and scribblehub.

Yin-Yang
Mages in North America seem to have it all – typically from well-off families, and able to manipulate their environment in ways most of the world would never believe. They don’t even have to bother with the mundane details of life like housework, thanks to their sensitives, who also make a useful source for extra magical energy. After all, sensitives have no use for it themselves, and if mages weren’t meant to make use of it, then the sensitives would obviously have some way to prevent that. That a mage can transform a sensitive physically, with no restrictions beyond overall mass and basic biological viability, whereas magic tends not to work directly on any other living thing, is only further proof. And look at the way they live on their own, barely a step above animals. It’s better for them to belong to a mage. Sensitives in North America live on the edge of society and survival – typically so paranoid they avoid hospitals and anything else that could lead to being tracked, many of them with little or no education and no legal identity or existence. Mages exist, and mages want sensitives for some reason, but no one ever comes back to explain what that reason is. Waiting every day for the hunters to notice them doesn’t lead to much motivation or hope for the future. And once they’re captured, they’re the property of someone with a terrifying amount of power over them. Anything is better than capture. Mages are born to be the masters, and sensitives are born victims. Or are they? Jax’s life is turned upside-down when he’s caught by the hunters and sold to a mage. Andreas is still mourning for his previous sensitive, though, unconsciously creating a difficult standard for Jax to live up to, all the more so while still struggling to come to terms with this new reality as Andreas’ sensitive. A runaway sensitive isn’t what Van expects at the mental health centre. Is this a hunter trap, set for him and the rest of the Donovan family by the hunters? The hunters would, after all, love to see them cross the line openly and finally do something they can be charged with. Either way, Miranda’s genuinely in trouble, and he can’t just abandon her to it. Snatching a sensitive out from under the hunters and hiding her is odd behaviour for a mage – but then, Catherine is an odd mage, living in disgrace in the old servants’ quarters of her grandmother’s house, responsible for cooking and housework. Lila owes Catherine her freedom; is there a way to help Catherine achieve her own, and at what price? Tension is building between traditionally-minded mages and those advocating change, and something has to break. *** Yin-Yang includes a small amount of profanity and no graphic sex or on-screen physical violence. However, sex and gender roles and relationships within the mage/sensitive subculture are non-traditional in mainstream North American terms. The key criterion in a primary relationship is not relative sex or gender, but the pairing of mage and sensitive; given the transformation of sensitives by their mages, physical sex is non-absolute for a sensitive, and gender identity can vary as in anyone else. *** *** The way mages treat sensitives is extremely varied and, in some cases is outright abusive. The struggle against that is pretty much the point of the book. It is NOT grimdark or misery-porn! However, if you will be triggered by this, please, don't read Yin-Yang! *** Complete stand-alone novel, 153K words! Also available on Scribble Hub and as a free ebook.

Shadowrun: Blake Island School of Magic
It's a high tech, low life. It's the Seattle Metroplex in 2074. It rises like a steel and concrete cancer out of the earth. Poverty is rampant, corruption is everywhere, crime is out of control, corporations basically control everything, the old United States is fractured, magic has come back and now it turns out that humanity has been joined by elves, dwarves, orks and trolls. The old world ended but the rent is still due. Life goes on. You'd be surprised what people can adapt to, especially if they don't have a choice. One of the places where life goes on is just west of Seattle. Surrounded by the waters of the Puget Sound is an island. On that island is the Blake Island School of Magic. A decade ago it was known for producing some of the most talented awakened in the world. That reputation was hijacked by the wealthy corporate elite who now park their teenage children there. And since it's a boarding school, their parents mostly forget about them. Three young people, who are certainly not wealthy or elite, are chosen this year to attend this school of magic in hopes of revitalizing their reputation for talent. One from the ash drifts of the Puyallup Barrens, one from the most densely populated slum hive in the world and one from prison. This is their story. -- This story is set in the Shadowrun universe. If you're not familiar with Shadowrun, it mostly tells the stories of deniable mercenaries called shadowrunners in a cyberpunk dystopia. Instead of telling another story solely about shadowrunners, this story will tell the tale of young people navigating a world that is indifferent to them at best and actively hostile at worst. Shadowrunners will be in the story and we'll see them operate, but they won't be its main focus. This story originally began in 2017 as a passion project and continues to this day on the Somethingawful.com forums. The unedited version is over a million words strong. There are currently seven books in this series and I am currently in the process of editing them. If you read this story then you won't lack for content. -- The Topps Company, Inc. has sole ownership of the names, logo, artwork, marks, photographs, sounds, audio, video and/or any proprietary material used in connection with the game Shadowrun.
