From the forest, two figures came out and stood at the entrance of the forest. One of them brought a banner while the other wore a full plate armor and great sword on his back.
The one with the banner, stabbed the holder of the banner on the ground. The flag banner was spread by the wind. It showed a crossed sword and great maul in the circle of thorn.
Then, he pulled something like a device. It shaped like diamond with a red crystal on the middle. He positioned the device at front of his mouth and he started to speak.
"Half-beast!! you are under commander Libhane territory!! we demand your answer and loyalty as his subject!!"
His voiced was ringed through the grass field till the front gate of the village. The red crystal shined when the man spoke. It amplified his voice and made it ten time louder than the original voice.
"hooo, so they have loudspeaker? interesting" Yana showed his interest
Yana turned around to the villager.
"You hear that? what had they called you?"
"subject... that human.." Barry showed his anger
"clearly, they don't see all of you as equal. So you know where this is going right?"
All of them was silent, but their face showed they were agreed with Yana. Clearly, these humans didn't come here for peace purpose.
"you have that device too?" Yana asked the villager
"forgive us savior, that magic device is only sold at human city or the dwarves cave.."
"I see... it's okay. You simply need to shout at them..wait I know a better way"
Yana approached and whispered to Barry.
"I see..... understood.." Barry nodded
Barry walked a few meters from the front gate. He raised his short sword and tapped it to his wooden shield.

-tack tack- He tapped it as loud as he could. He faced the man and shouted.
"We are a free man!! never heard of this Libhane!! never made agreement!! we showed no harm! so we hope you do the same!!" Barry's voiced also ringed through the grass field
The man replied with his device.
"by not heed our commander's call, you are already showing us some threats!! submit or we will see you as a threat!!"
"a threat?.... what have we done to you?..." Barry whispered to himself
He continued to tap his short sword onto his wooden shield.
"we submit to no one!! we mean no harm!!" Barry shouted again
The man with full plate armor approached the man with the banner and took the device. He prepared to talked.
"I'm chief of the first platoon, "king's guard". All of you is living under commander Libhane territory! we must sure that you are not having an Ill intention!"
"we are not! so leave us alone!"
The chief gave the device back to the man with the banner, and whispered something to him. He nodded and started to speak again.
"last warning! submit to commander Libhane, or we will see you as a threat!"
Barry and the other villager could feel that these humans don't have any reason to listen their side.
Yana smiled while looked to their enemies.
"so simple.. their hatred, their pride, their ego... it's already tell so much about them.. human will always be human huh?"
Yana stood between the villager and Barry. He raised his voice.
"all of you will see their true nature! see it!"
All people eyes and ears focused to their enemies.
Barry kept tapping his short sword.
-tack tack- He showed no sign of fear at all.

"3...2..."
There was no sign of wind. Only tap sounds that came from Barry.
"1...."
-whoooosh- a voice came from a flying object with incredible speed and...
-deeeep- that object was blocked by Barry's wooden shield. An arrow, that what was flying towards his direction. It was already dark in that moment, thus stopped an arrow would be impossible thing for human eyes. But not with half-beast eyes, they were also hunting at night.
All of the villager knew for sure, this was what their savior meant earlier.
"I WON'T LET THEM TOUCH MY SON...."
"HUMAN..."
The chief turned back and told to her soldier.
"men!!! show this beast about commander Libhane power!! show them, animals can't win against human glory!!"
"Woooooaaaa" the soldier spirit was lit by their chef's word
Barry prepared himself with cursing to those humans.
"you bring so many people with weapon... and this..."
He pulled the arrow and threw it to the ground. He walked back to Yana's position.
"our savior.. please guide us in this war" Barry kneeled on the ground and followed by the other
"yes. Leave it to me"
He looked to the marching soldier. He closed his eyes for a moment, and then opened them again.
"shall we begin?"

Project: You have died
A monologue story about a man who died and was reborn in a new world of mysteries and intrigue. Where monsters and magic are common place and gods are plentiful. The story follows his life as fate conspires to bind him to a path which he will eventually struggle to come to terms with. *** The story is a slow burner inspired by web novels with the main character accounting every action in time. I doubt this style is for everyone ***

Tales of Ordinary, Completely Unremarkable Contractors
"Where life had no value, death, sometimes, had its price. That is why the mercenaries appeared." - Artur Xerxes, in A Century of Disappointment: Memoirs of a Travelling Dwarf It's never too difficult to land contracts for a set very specialised skills in a continent teeming with werewolves, vampires, giant leopards, undead and, god forbid, elves. The difficulty comes when these contractors find themselves suffocated in the dense atmosphere of this world's rigid - and mostly unfair - rules; death, suffering and misfortune await those unwilling to sacrifice to bend these in their favour. In this non-linear plot, you will observe a scarred and deformed farm girl cashing her first bounty posters, a seemingly ordinary barmaid at a tavern in the bustling centre of a sprawling, corrupt city and an enigmatic leader of a firm specialising in dealings any other would consider suicidal. Watch them all take everything to the next level at every available opportunity, and then feel dread at the thought that this still might not be enough to halt the physical embodiment of doom about to do what it does best Please, feel free to review and comment! Any sort of feedback can help me become a better writer and write more engaging stories for you. I used to update once every 3-5 days, but this rewrite is taking much too long...I do hope it will be worth it.
