POV – Ed “ouch” I moaned as I slammed against the tree.
“Boy you need to be faster, your small body and frame make you quick and your ability makes you unpredictable, get back up and hit me” Grandfather shouted at me.
I pulled my self up using a low hanging branch we were down by the river at my tree, my grandfather who looked like he was only in his late 40 with short black hair and body builder physic was standing about 10 paces away with a evil grin on his face ever since he came to help look after us, he been training me, while ash has been playing in the forest I might add the training isn’t by choice he saw me shadow walk one day and instantly pulled aside and told me that I was now his student.
‘his ability to predicted 2 seconds ahead is really pissing me of’ I thought as I looked around just open fields the only shadow was his but as the sun was setting the shadow was getting longer I looked to the ground where there loads of twigs as I crouched down I grabbed 2 and smiled.
I grabbed the twig and scratched across my palm and focused on the tree shadow then everything went grey I launched my self at his shadow at appearing right behind him and threw my first twig at him, in a blink of an eye he was facing me with the twig in his hand and launching his fist at me, using my other twig I cut my self again and dived for the shadow his fist was making, once in the shadow world i ran at his shadow with my fist clenched.
As I reappeared about to punch him I lost my balance, then everything went dizzy, ‘ whats going on I ‘thought as my vison blurred and darkness over came me.
“wake up you brat” a harsh voice shouted at me
As I opened my eyes slowly I saw my grandfather face looking back at me with a look of disapproval
“eugh” I groaned looking up at the bright moon ‘wait its dark already how long have I been out’

“idoit your lucky boy, if you had fainted while in the shadow world you would have been lost for good, you cut in to a vein on that second cut you need to be more careful brat, though I think you may have had me if you could of moved a inch more, Lets head back to the hut Ive got something for you, meet me there when you can stand ive seen to you hands they will be fine.” He said while turning his back to me and walking away
I looked down at my hands and saw they looked brand new no marks or scars or even dirty even my nails where spot less I noticed In shock, ‘I still feel ill though’ I noted as I pulled my self up unbalanced, I staggered towards to hut while thinking about how close I was to hitting him the only down side and I knew it he hadn’t moved a step that whole fight.
As I neared the hut i noticed the changes since my grandfather been here it now had 3 extra rooms coming of it and had been painted the I still remembered when he arrived the first thing he said was.
“this will not do! my family cant live in something so run down and tiny” so on that day he started improving me and ash now had are own room’s which was a privilege only nobles can boast not even the mayor of the village family all had there own rooms.
The smile disappeared from my face as I entered the hut seeing my mum glaring at me.
“your late for dinner and covered in mud the one rule I gave you two was to be in before dark” she growled at us that was when I noticed granddad also standing at the door.
“daughter please do calm down It was my fault I let time get the best of me we were making such good progress, he only got 4 and a half years till he turns 10 and we both no that the kings tournament is being hosted in oxen less then 5 years from now” grandfather spoke it gentle voice.

“pfft you and that tournament, why must the boys enter it, it too dangerous” she moaned at him
“we have been over this, the benefits out way the danger if they place in the top 10 they be named nobles and be allowed to apply for knighthood I could then train them officially and pass down my skills, if they place in the top 5 they will become royal knights which will set them up for life and top 2 will get any magic skills they wish already mastered! And the winner, which Ed here could be he has so much potential that he could win and the winner as you know daughter becomes the next in line for the throne!”
“I know I just don’t like it” she whispered
“come on come eat, Ed go get cleaned up” she said while her eyes narrowing on my hands
I pulled them behind me and ran to my room.
‘Tournament what are they going on about, it make sense with all the none stop training but he said both of us ash is rarely home to be trained he always with the hunters that reminds me I didn’t see him downstairs’ once I finished changing I walked to the table,
“mum, where ash?”
“he staying at james tonight dear they have a hunt first thing in the morning its first time seeing a boar hunt he so exited” she said while smiling dishing up some fish.
‘grrr while does he always get to do the fun stuff while I’m stuck training, I’m going to win this tournament just so I can show him what his missing out on I smiled evilly, I hope jimmy enters this tournament to ill teach him what happens when people steal my brother away from me.
“ohh yeah before I forget follow me in to my room ed” grandfather said
As I followed him he closed the door behind me and went to his chest, the chest was solid silver and was filled with all his knightly belongs sword, shield and his plate armour as he slowly and carefully pulled each item out right at the bottom was a pair of fingerless leather gloves as I looked more careful I noticed the thumbs where covered.
“these are for you, they are very rare and perfect for your ability once you wear them they become bound to you and you will not be able to take them off” he said while passing them to me.
As I placed them both on I noticed they where to big for me as I was about to take them off to say something they shrunk tightly around my hand and bite me, ‘what the fuck they bite me’ “ouch”. Item Name - Vampiric Left Glove

“hahahaha I cant believe he almost killed him self already” the women covered in ivy said as the ivy moved around her body while she sat laughing on there throne.
“laugh it up sister the vampire gloves are coming in to play, I’m surprised that old fool had them” said a moving shadow and he walked behind his sister throne running his hand across the back off the throne.
“too true that has given you a major advantage, though ash is learning the way of the forest and the animals he finding connections and friends this will make him strong in the end, having something to protect always makes them strong” she said with a grin.

Limitless Adaptation
Jamie, 19, was walking into the kitchen for dinner when he suddenly found himself walking down a street in another world, a world with a game system. There, he meets a half-dragon, half-human named Adam, who faces adversity in most places, because of his parentage, and not long after they meet, the two of them are forced to leave town, due to Adam's beast nature. In the world of Tielmar, there are species of all varieties, a Class exists for nearly everything, and Skills come in quite a few forms. Jamie starts off with a Skill called "Limitless Adaptation", which supposedly allows him to adapt to any need, but is it really as powerful as it sounds? And more importantly - can it help him survive in a world where his first friend is a reject in all communities? Will Jamie, Adam, and the other friends and teammates they make in their journey find peace, allies, and love? Or will they fall to the powerful Adventurers that soon begin to hunt their team, to claim the bounties on several of its members, a bounty Jamie himself quickly finds on his own head? All of Book 1 is now posted, and Limitless Adaptation is officially done with the decision to rewrite. Credits for the cover go to me. Path of Righteousness
What do you desire? What are you afraid of? You run away from one, pursuing the other. Is that all you are? Conquer your fears. Dig to the bottom and confirm, what you really want... ...For you cannot escape suffering and death. You only have a little time. Use it wisely. Uru, a young boy with no talent for magic or fighting, sets out on a quest to become an avatar of order, the physical embodiment of righteousness, in a distant future, where control of origin energy allows people to defy physics and manipulate causality. Mocked by fate and broken by impossible dreams, all that's left is to stand in defiance to cruel existence. Because there is a Truth out there, somewhere. Singular, transcendent, eternal. What would you sacrifice for it? *** This is a fantastic sci-fi epic. It's going to blend both western and eastern traditional fantasy tropes – like might & magic and cultivation – with rational sci-fi grounded fully in reality, to produce a purely fictional fairy tale. I'd like to deliver something light-hearted and yet wholly serious. An uplifting adventure exploring the unfathomable reaches of humanity, free of indecency, with a healthy dose of humorous banter, legendary beings, and most importantly – lots of exciting, firework-filled mayhem! I've tried reading many web novels, but there's a fundamental problem with them – the eastern ones are annoyingly repetitive, superficial and morally destitute, while western ones are often dark, convoluted and profane. There's only so much one can do to filter out the bad and try to fill in the gaps with their own imagination. It's one thing to eat tasty fast food, but if it's moldy and filled with toxins, then it's not only poisonous, but also disgusting. The appreciation of beauty and higher values is disappearing at an alarming rate. Although there are throngs of talented people out there, none of them are creating what I want to witness – an inspiring battle against impossible odds, ending in absolute victory. A triumph of the spirit so overwhelming, it crushes the spectator into his seat and takes his breath away. I'm looking for a real paragon, so now I'd like to try conceiving one. *** The MC's name comes from Tolkien's Elven dictionary in Silmarillion, 'Uru' meaning 'Fire', and 'Dagnir an Uruloki' meaning 'Slayer of Dragons'. *** Note: I'm neither a native speaker, nor an aficionado of literature – I've never written anything before, and despite proficient English my literary prowess is abysmal. It therefore takes me a painful amount of effort to polish the chapters and bring them up to par. Last year I wrote and posted some on FictionPress, but I stopped since it wasn't going anywhere. The appalling amount of filth and mediocrity being peddled in all the media nowadays – a result of no conspiracy to manipulate the masses, but plain supply and demand – is no longer just the triumph of form over substance, but most worryingly corruption of the latter. Who wants to read about ideals anymore? And yet, masses flock together to gobble up perversion and depravity. That being said, I can't rule out pitiful exposure as the culprit to my failure, so I am now once again trying to increase it here, possibly for the last time. If there are still human beings present, hungry or in need of a detox after eating too much garbage, make yourselves heard, so I can see a reason to continue the story. Otherwise it's pointless – I'm not going to make fodder for the masses, and I'm most certainly not going to throw pearls before swine. I'll simply stop writing altogether.
