《B R I C K》Chapter 4: Imperium

The only good part of a rainshower is only when it's in progress. The after bit is always a hassle. During a rainstorm you don’t have to think about much, and the rain can wash yourself off, leaving you feeling nice and clean. But then there’s the aforementioned after.
Now that the rain is over you can just sit and dry, right? Everything will be good. And, although the sanguine fluids were cleansed of, now random bits of dirt and dust stuck on.
I was rather used to it, but Ribbon was most certainly a tad vexed.
Captain also didn’t find much joy in the weather either… He was still yelling.
‘Captain,’ I try to snap him out of his strange… Possessed state.
It doesn’t work, so I just enjoy the light rays of morningtide whilst I can. Except I can’t.
As basic meteorology dictates, an area will be noticeably more moist after a rainstorm and in a plain like this…, you guessed it, it means more fog.
Though, it would appear that more entities managed to track this location despite the clear vision obstruction.
“Alright! Laugh it up! Whomst is the donkey making that racket?!”
They seem mightily irked for odd reason. Altho, they did indicate that it may have been likely due to the erstwhile stated Donkey, making some form of noise.
And at their appearance, Captain seems to snap out of his demonic fit.
“Oh fu— I mean, compatriots! It’s good to see that you are all ali— well…” They stumble dumbly.
“My lord… Harwitz, is that you, you inane donkey!?” They seem to recognise Captain and getting a closer look at them, they’re all Allies. One of them a Captain and others, slightly more accoutered Soldiers. Lieutenants I believe they were called.
“Who else would it be?! The granny across the river?!”

They jibe at each other in a somewhat nonsensical manner. What was with all the insults?
“It’s called banter, if you were wondering,” Captain whispers over.
“Harawitz… Have you gone senile? Are you talking to a brick? Look, you even decorated with a ribbon!”
“Nono, it’s a talking brick, trust me,” Captain waves his hands, “C’mon say something to the guy,”
‘I cannot’
“What?! Why?” The Captain trembles, “Is it that I’m the only one who can hear you…? N-No way,”
This Captain… He’s quite a dumbass, isn’t he?
‘Captain. I am a brick. It is already rather… strange for me to even interact with entities such as yourself,’ I chide the ignorant Captain, ‘That being said, you need to move me closer to the Captain,’
“Ah, right…”
“What the hell? Get your voodoo brick away from me!”
“Okay okay, but just stay calm,” They placate the other Captain before whispering to me, “Go ahead,”
‘Salutations, Captain,’
They jump away before shouting aloud, “Whomst dare?! What art thou?!”
Hmm, his reaction… It’s expected considering he’s a Captain.
We go through the process much to bemusement, though I’d wish I could omit it for Ribbon. After all, this quickly gets nominal after the second time…
Okay, I know that sounds strange for me, a Brick whose content with seeing the same scenery from the same location everyday. But Ribbon’s a different story. I’ve noticed that they don’t quite like such dry repetition.
And so, in lieu of this fact, I'll omit the proceeding blather of the Captains.
The sun having troughed and the fog amplified three fold is when the Captains finish their yipper yapper information exchange.
“Haaah, so, Brick is it?” The new Captains asks, “You used to be the great wall of the fortress Firma, making you the previous Firma wall,”

Firma, huh? Solid and stable. I guess that’s what all Walls strive to be and what all Bricks are. Solid and stable; the ultimate wish of the Masons.
“Altho, you are quite the queer one, you are still under our banner. The Imperium of Deus. Be proud, little Brick, we’ll be taking you back to Imperium heartland with us. Do not disgrace the denomination of Deus,”
Oh, I know this! The Imperium. They are the collective of every entity serving under the banner of three plates. Even the Masons, although not affiliated with any other on a smaller scale, are still one with the Imperium of Deus.
In fact, all of the Allies were too! Or would it be accurate to say that the Imperium is all?
When one says Imperium, it no doubt refers to the indomitable entity that could crush al with a simple gesture, flay any that dare flaunt a superficial status! So the Imperium is all!
Though this lowly Brick had failed once before… The Imperium never fails! Nay, it’d be best to say that the Imperium always triumphs over all! Peerless to e’ry!
As expected of the overarching entity that encompasses me… The apex, the hallowed, the indomitable! The
Imperium.

The Undying Magician
How would a true immortal with average talent in magic fare within a world where magic is everything? In the world of Aria, only a small fraction of the population are classified as magicians. These magicians are able to use magic through the manipulation of the mana they are born with and are the core of the military strength within every nation. However, one nation in particular uses magicians to an even higher extreme than the others. This nation is known as The Republic of Arcania. The largest power in Aria. Our story follows Nathan Fox as he graduates from high school and is sent to the Arcane Academy for his required military training as a magician before he eventually serves his ten year term in the military.Nathan has been a true immortal ever since he got a semi-magical disease that makes any damage done to his body instantly reverse itself, bringing him back to his top form on the day that he became an immortal. Ever since then, it has been impossible for Nathan to die.But there are worse things in the world than death. And if the power-hungry magicians of the world were to learn of Nathan's true immortality? Then he might just experience those things himself. What will happen to Nathan as he traverses life in the academy? Will his secret be found out?Or will he be able to safely make it through the four years of academy life with his secret intact? That has yet to be foretold. The beginning of the story starts out slow for what many Royal Road readers are used to and then speeds up after around chapter 20 or so. It is a school arc, so it is supposed to be slow. Most of the combat and action isn't seen until after these chapters, which you can view as an introduction to the world, the characters, and magic itself. Many of the reviews are outdated due to edits I've been making along the way through the story. Specifically some of the edits going over the world itself, including pointing out in the story some of the things a few of the reviewers missed when they wrote their reviews, along with fixing other things that were pointed out in the story from the reviews and comments. This book is also being edited as it's being written, so some small parts might change as I get suggestions from readers. I do not write harem or sexual content in my stories. Ever.
