《The Celestial Venture》Chapter 20 - Uma Frigate - Desperate Attempt

Sitting in the locked room, her back to the screen, Twy'la stared at the door, before wiping some sweat off her brow. Around 30 minutes have passed since Gillex had left the room, but it was clear the room was made to make prisoners suffer in a number of ways, and without wasting time.
Turning her gaze to the camera, the small blinking red light being the only indication someone was still watching. She turned back to face the door as more of the interrogation footage entered the corner of her vision. From just a couple of minutes of watching, Twy'la felt sick. And angry.
Getting up from the floor, she approached the door and tried touching it. Getting shocked by an electric current, she quickly retracted her hand.
"Tsk tsk, no trying to escape now! You'll find all the walls of the interrogation room are the same."
As Gillex's voice came from somewhere in the room, Twy'la started looking around, until she spotted a speaker in the ceiling.
"Then this is just a prisoner cell as it is, isn't it?" Twy'la shouted, trying to be louder than the recording of the interrogations, only to hear as the recordings became even louder.
" I couldn't hear you over the movie. Then again, prisoners don't get to complain. Or speak without permission."
With the room now being overwhelmed with sounds, Twy'la turned her back to the camera. Noticing the movie stated this was now 'day 10', she raised her eyebrows. It felt like the interrogations were incredibly short in that case. And she only ever heard Gillex ask questions, never Kree's voice.
"You must start to feet tired from all this futile resistence, don't you?" Gillex in the recording asked Kree, before kicking her a couple of times in the abdomen "Doesn't matter how tough you are physically, everyone can be broken. And no one is coming to save you. I saw your little friends fly away, into Una territory."
"Good."
Twy'la raised her eyebrows in surprise when she finally heard Kree's voice, and turned to look at the screen. Blood was coming out of Kree's mouth, but she was smiling.
"Good? You are a bigger idiot than I thought."
"No, you're right. It's gre-"
Another kick to the abdomen, and Kree spat out blood.
"Silence. You are alone, and think it is great?Guards! Get her out of here."
Twy'la watched the screen as Kree got picked up, and then dragged away, all the while she still had a smile on her face. As it moved to day 11, the angel looked down at the floor, at where Kree laid in the video. Why would it be great? They abandoned her.
"Come on Twy'la, think." she muttered to herself. Looking down at her feet, she felt frustrated. It seemed like Kree and Jarvell were always the ones that kept coming up with ideas. Heck, even Gum seemed to have some kind of intuition to him.
"Wait, Gum?" Twy'la thought about the little pink blob. She was able to push her hands through the cage with her Cosmos, then he absorbed her Cosmos. And coated himself in it to mimic her ability. She knew she could cover herself in a similar manner, but to absorb other things?

With her back still aimed at the camera, she got closer to the door and covered her hand with her Cosmos. Putting it against the door, it blocked off the electricity. Twy'la let out a sigh of relief before trying to focus on the electricity. Try and gather it into her hand.
Her Cosmos glowed brighter, responding to her, and she started to feel as the electricity started to gather in the Cosmos around her hand. It was stinging her, as if the electricity was fighting back, fighting to be loose.
"Well, that's step one. Tsk, I don't know how long I could hold on to that." Twy'la winced at the continued stinging "But lets try this."
Her hand went back onto the door, and Twy'la focused on pushing the electricity back out, like a shot from a gun. And the Cosmos shot itself against the door, along with the electricity. Sparks flew off the door, causing Twy'la to back away and shelter her eyes. The door started to slide open, before sliding closed. It started going back and forth like that, causing the guards on the other side to come check the now malfunctioning door.
"Go call a technician! I'll keep an eye on the prisoner!" One of the guards told the other, who nodded and ran off. The guard that remained looked through the opening and closing door, and aimed his gun at it "Don't do anything. Your companions will suffer too if you do."
Twy'la just looked at him, and at the door. Without any warning, her Cosmos covered her body, and she shot a few Cosmos shots at the guard, before shooting a couple at the door. The guard got hit and stumbled backwards, while the shots aimed at the door didn't seem to do any damage, but rather caused it to stop on its tracks, and glow with a faint pink glow.
Stepping out, Twy'la shot a few more Cosmos bullets at the guard, right at his head. He got knocked against the wall several times, before sliding down against it, and dropping his weapon as he fell unconscious. Grabbing the gun, Twy'la let her Cosmos cover it and started walking down the hallway. She had to find Jarvell and Gum.
"I wonder if this will work here too." Twy'la muttered, closing her eyes as the rings of Cosmos around her waist and hair started to glow brighter "Oh cosmos of the galaxy, light of the stars, guide me to those who were lost, let me find and bring them back to the chosen path."
The glow from the rings seemed to go into her eyes, causing them to glow brightly instead. Her vision became blurry, aside from a pair of dots on the opposite side of the ship. She memorized where it was the best she could, before the dots faded, along with the glow.
As she felt the creeping headache, the guard was returning with the technician, only to stop and aim his gun at Twy'la "Drop the weapon!"
Through a still blurry vision, Twy'la aimed the gun and aimed it at the two standing in front of her. Starting to shoot, she stumbled a couple of steps back from the sudden recoil the gun had. But as her vision slowly cleared up, she saw the guard looking stunned to his side, as the technician was hit, and the Cosmos-enhanced shot went through his head and then made a very clear hole in the wall behind.

Both the guard and Twy'la stared at the fallen technician, stunned. The guard was the first to regain his composure, aim his gun at Twy'la and take a shot. While Twy'la's Cosmos took the brunt of the damage, she still felt herself getting knocked back and her shoulder felt as though someone just punched her hard there. It also helped bring her attention back to the situation, and she raised her own gun and started firing again. Without anything to serve as a cover in the corridor, the guard tried dodging, but eventually got hit in the arm, followed by a shot in the neck which brought him down.
As she watched the guard go down, Twy'la lowered the gun and put a hand against her forehead. She wasn't trained to use her Cosmos for offensive purposes, and she could feel she was starting to get a fever from using it like this. Breathing deeply to try and ignore the feeling of weakness, she started running, aiming to reach Jarvell and Gum.
"Everyone, one of our prisoners became loose! Consider her armed and dangerous! Use of physical bullets to take her down is permitted!" Commander Gillex's voice was heard through the intercoms of the ship "Energy ammo will not be effective against her!"
"Damnit." Twy'la muttered, before taking a turn and seeing a few other guards who were in the process of changing their ammo. Without giving them a chance, she started shooting, managing to bring them down after spraying the hallway in front of her with a lot of bullets. Just two more turns, and one corridor to go through, before she'll reach them.
Reaching the next corridor, Twy'la stopped. It was completely empty. It raised several alarms in her mind, but it was also the way she saw to get her crewmates. Starting to run down the corridor, Twy'la suddenly felt a powerful surge of electricity go through her, bringing her down to a stop, before a second surge made her drop to her knees.
"Guards, go station yourself in front of prisoner cell C12! That's her aim!" Gillex's voice was heard, as another surge of electricity was sent to Twy'la.
The moment of reprieve gained from Gillex giving the instructions was enough. She focused on her Cosmos, and it managed to absorb some of the electricity. The rest of the surge still hurt. Standing back up, Twy'la felt as her head was spinning. She was definitely over-using her Cosmos. And yet she was so close.
Stomping on the floor, she sent all the electricity she gathered back into the floor, which caused numerous sparks to start coming up from the floor. Now all that was left was the next corridor, and the guards there. Walking there, Twy'la felt her grasp over the gun weakening. As she turned to the corridor, she saw about a dozen guards, all aiming their guns at her, and Gillex standing behind them, and in front of the cell door.
"Fire!"
Twy'la didn't have a chance to react as numerous bullets made their way to her. Her Cosmos was not as effective against the physical bullets, and she felt each impact as if someone swung a sledgehammer against where they hit. Between all the pain and overusing her Cosmos like that, Twy'la could feel she was barely hanging on.
"Let the Galactic Cosmos take over." A feminine voice whispered.
Her eyes widening, Twy'la tried raising her head to see where the voice came from, but the whisper in her ear seemed to come from nowhere.
"Let the Cosmos take over?" Twy'la said, before glancing up at Gillex and the soldiers "Can it help?"
"Can what help? You have no help here! Keep shooting!" Gillex shouted, and more bullets made their way towards Twy'la.
"Fine. Take over. Just save them." Twy'la whispered, and her gaze lowered.
Her Cosmos seemed to separate from her and a humanoid form made from the energy came to be, with an intense pink glow where the eyes should be. It took all the bullets, which seemed to do nothing to it, before quickly turning and catching Twy'la, who fell unconscious.
"Understood, servant of the galaxy. Your friends will be rescued." the humanoid Cosmos seemed to speak, and carefully put Twy'la down, before turning to look at the soldiers and Gillex. All of them seemed speechless as the Cosmos started approaching them, with the Cosmos being undisturbed by all the bullets that just dissolved in it.
"K-keep shooting!" Gillex commanded, but none of the guards seemed willing to comply. Grabbing one of the guns from the soldiers, Gillex aimed it and started shooting, but it was clear nothing was happening. As the Cosmos reached the soldiers and Gillex, it only grabbed Gillex by the neck, and two more faces formed on the sides of the heads. All three faces spoke in unison, with the two other looking at all the soldiers.
"If you value your lives, run."
None of the soldiers needed further convincing, and some dropped their guns as they made a run for it.
Gillex, who was in the Cosmos's grasp, struggled to escape, and dropped the gun as it was ineffective. He tried punching the Cosmos, but that was ineffective as well.
"W-what the hell are y-you?" Gillex asked, before feeling as the hand was beginning to choke him.
"The will of the Galaxy. The will of a Celestial Thunder." the Cosmos replied, and waited until Gillex stopped moving. Dropping him, the Cosmos approached the door and put his hand through it, causing it to short-circuit, before it opened. Going back to Twy'la, the Cosmos picked her up and carried her into the room, where the frozen Jarvell and Gum were there.
Putting Twy'la down, the Cosmos put its hands together "This is my last act, servant of the galaxy. Anymore, and it will put your life in risk. Grow stronger, and I will be able to serve you more." the Cosmos said, before exploding, causing a mist of pink to go all around the room. As the mist seemed to thaw out Jarvell and Gum, the Cosmos rings around Twy'la's waist and hair returned, though they appeared incredibly faded.
