《The Celestial Venture》Chapter 11 - Lantern III - Torn Apart

Sitting on the ground with Gum hopping around her, Twy'la looked in the direction of the city. While it was amusing to converse with Gum, she couldn't help but wonder what happened to turn Kree's mood so bad. Was it her action, the jump, that caused it? Or perhaps the shape of the planet? Either way, it felt like the winged individual was a completely different person since they crashed onto the planet.
"Huh, those are some nasty looking clouds," Twy'la said, spotting the clouds that were moving towards the city "I think we might need to get some shelter in the ship."
Glancing in Gum's direction, she noticed that the Gelac had stopped hopping around, instead looking towards some of the trees that surrounded the ship. Standing up, Twy'la walked behind him, her hand grasping the energy pistol she was given earlier.
"W-what is it? Did you see anything?" Twy'la asked, moving the dial to the left as she tried seeing if she could spot anything in the treeline.
At first, there was nothing. Until she heard some rustling from the top of the trees. Aiming the gum in the direction of the rustling, Twy'la tried to steady her hands the best she could, while feeling the gun continue to heat up. Trying to remember how the soldiers back on Europa did it, she covered the gun with her Cosmos, and hoped she was doing it right.
There were a few seconds of silence, and the rustling had stopped, before a figure jumped out. Without waiting, Twy'la took the shot, only to find herself pushed hard by the recoil, as she accidentally used the flare setting. The large, bright shot, made its way to the figure, hitting them right in the chest, and proceeding to shoot them up towards the sky, where the flare made a much brighter, pink light.
Covering her eyes from the bright light, Twy'la tried seeing where the strange figure was, before they came crashing a few steps away from her, almost hitting the ship. Quickly standing back up, she switched her gun to the right dial, and aimed it at the figure, who had pink smoke coming up from him as he just laid on the ground, blinking a few times.
"Sheesh, energy weapons pack much more of a punch nowadays huh?"
Twy'la didn't respond as she watched the figure, who was covered with dark red scales and some exposed parts of red skin, and had black trousers, stood back up and just looked at Twy'la.
"Missy, you better not shoot that again at just anyone with a flare. It would've killed most mortals as far as I could tell from that hit," He said, rolling his shoulder and looking at her "Hurmm. Can't say I've seen your kind before. Just gimme a moment. Been a while."
"A-a moment? To do what?" Twy'la aimed the gun right at his head.
"Really? You blasted me with a flare enhanced by your, uh, Cosmos? That's what they call energy nowadays?"
"That's what my people call their energy! And how do you even know what's it called?" Twy'la asked, before taking a shot and hitting his shoulder, which only caused a bit of smoke, but no visible damage to the scales it hit.

"Oi, if you want answers, don't shoot the person who has them. This really is your first time being in this situation huh?" He asked, approaching her, before grabbing the gun from her grasp and just tossing it aside "Lets head into that ship of yours. Storms coming and you won't survive it."
"What are you- H-hey!"
Without any warning, the scaly person picked Twy'la up, jumped onto the ship, before dropping the Angel inside the ship, and hopping inside as well. After quickly checking, he found the button to close the upper hatch, while Twy'la proceeded to back away from him.
"Don't suppose you have any food around? Most stuff on this planet is basically unedible. And even what I can eat is radiated. And lacking in meat."
Twy'la just glanced at him with narrow eyes, before hearing something bounce on the top "Gum!" She said, looking at the scaly person "You have to let him in!"
"The Gelac? That blob will be fine. Basically a sponge that cleanses itself. So your two friends, they gonna come back soon? Then again, maybe calling them friends is stretching it."
"How do you-"
"Missy, you ain't the brightest tool in the shed are you? I've been reading your mind from the moment I crashed back on the ground," He explained, before opening their food cabinet "Ugh, nothing but space food. Hate space food. Maybe I should go to that Earth planet next, sounds like they have a good variety."
Twy'la just seemed stunned, before putting her hands on her head "S-stop reading my mind! And my memories!"
"What, you want to do it the old fashion way? Fine.," He put the food away and sat down across from her "Greetings, stranger from another planet. While I may not be a native of the planet, I welcome you to Lantern III, also known as Rydia. Yes, named after its people, very clever of them. Not that any of them are around anymore. I am Regur, and it is my absolute honour to welcome you here."
Twy'la just stared at Regur for a few moments, before her expression turned angry "That was way too sarcastic! You expect me to believe you were geniune?"
Regur shook his head "Nope, I didn't. Then again, I didn't even try. But why not tell me about those crewmates of yours? Jarvell the big blue and Kree'aria the Winged pinky? Sounds like quite the match made in celestial heavens. Not."
"Not?"
Standing up, Regur shook his finger "Oh no, not at all. Your worries are every bit valid. You have been messing up, certainly. But you see, I also saw your friends on the way here. And what they said about you, hooboy."
"What? What did they say?" Twy'la asked, clearly holding onto every single word Regur was sending her way.
With his back to her, Regur continued "Oh, truly, you don't want to know Missy. But they clearly don't view you as a crewmate. Barely even as a mate. They were discussing of potentially dumping you here. Leaving you behind so the two of them could go on, as they clearly make a good team, and you?" Regur turned to her with a concerned look "You are nothing."

Twy'la's gaze turned to the floor, and her mouth hid behind her collar "I'm nothing to them?"
Nodding slightly, Regur moved to kneel next to Twy'la "Nothing. Even less then nothing. They see you as an insect that squashed against the window, and now its time to clean you off there. Truly, such horrible words! I wouldn't believe what they said if I didn't hear it with my own ears!"
Slowly curling up into a ball, Twy'la just remained silent. Her pink Cosmos wings and rings all seemed to become faded pink, almost gone.
"Oh, don't be sad. Now you have good old Regur by your side! And not just that, I can tell you how you can turn things around!" Regur looked in Twy'la's direction, who still didn't seem to budge, before continuing "All you need to do is get rid of the competition!"
"Competition?" Twy'la whispered, her head slightly rising to meet his gaze.
"Indeed! Jarvell, the big blue, he is the competition! The one who caused Kree'aria to deem you unwanted! Him, with his bulky muscles and superior knowledge! What does he think he is anyway? You were here first! you met Kree'aria first! Why should he remain when he didn't even ask to join!"
"Jarvell is the competition." Twy'la muttered, and with Regur's help slowly stood up.
"Yes, yes! That's right Twy'la! And you don't even know him anyway! He is the nobody! You deserve to make a new home on this ship with Kree'aria!"
As he said those words, Regur listened to the outside. The rain had passed, so he opened the hatch, and helped Twy'la climb out.
Gum was still on the ship, having waited. He had spots of green in him, but they seemed to do as Regur said, and slowly dissolve until he was purely pink once more. Regur just kicked Gum away, keeping his focus on Twy'la.
"So when you next see Jarvell, you know what to do, right? What must be done?"
"Take out the competition." Twy'la said, her Cosmos faded pink suddenly glowing bright, and her eyes glowing pink as well, as her Cosmos seemed to cover her hands and legs.
Regur clapped as he watched Twy'la step off the ship and look in the direction of the city. He sat down and offered a nasty smile to both Gum and Twy'la "I think he is coming right now."
And indeed, a four armed figure was approaching, holding numerous things. Jarvell slowly approached the ship, only to stop upon seeing Twy'la in that state and Regur, who waved to Jarvell.
"Twy'la? Something going on? Who is that person?" Jarvell asked, putting the materials down as he seemed concerned.
"That person is none of your concern." Twy'la said, before starting to shoot Cosmos energy blasts at Jarvell, and then running right at him.
Jarvell shielded himself with his arms, before proceeding to block an incoming kick from Twy'la "What are you doing?" He asked, trying to push her away, before stopping a second kick and a punch. All of her hits seemed to slowly scorch his skin.
"I'm taking down the competiton! I'm the only one Kree'aria needs!" Twy'la shouted, before performing a clap with her hands and sending a wave of Cosmos right at Jarvell, causing him to stumble back, before following with another punch.
"Oh deary me, I fear your crewmate snapped Jarvell!" Regur said, while his expression showed he was clearly enjoying the show "It seems her Cosmos might've overwhelmed her senses! Your only way is to take her down! There is no knowing what her Cosmos might do if it is fully released!"
"Her Cosmos?" Jarvell said as he blocked more hits, before proceeding to send a punch, and send Twy'la crashing against a tree's trunk "I don't like this one bit, but I won't let your powers be the end of everyone!"
"You can't end me, you useless four armed ship stealer!" Twy'la said as more shots of Cosmos came right at Jarvell, forcing him to shift into a defensive position as she came closer, before trying to send more punches her way.
Three of his punches were stopped by her Cosmos, which seemed to shape itself as a whip that tied the three hands together, while the fourth hit Twy'la's forehead and caused some bleeding, but Twy'la forced Jarvell to stay in that position, while she aimed her free hand right against his chest and sent a powerful Cosmos hit right at him, sending him rolling backwards, only to be stopped by his tied arms and land hard against the ground.
"You aren't getting off that easily." Twy'la said, and started shooting more Cosmos small shots at Jarvell.
While all this was happening, Regur noticed Gum jumped on the ship's wing and stared at him.
"Oi, blob, the show is there, not me. Or do you just know they don't see you as anything other then a tool?"
Gum turned to look in the direction of Twy'la, who was forced to the ground by Jarvell and was now recieving multiple punches against different areas of her body.
"Come on. You actually believed Kree'aria? Being a pet? Please. She ain't your boss. And protecting you that one time was clearly a fluke," Regur said, smiling as he could see that Gum was slowly starting to form small bubbles inside of him "And I do believe your 'master' is about to arrive too."
And indeed, a moment later, Kree hopped out of the same tree he had before. She slowly approached the blob, who was still slowly boiling. He just needed a bit more. So when she tried talking to him again, Regur spoke up.
"Nothin' wrong with him, Wings. He just learned that he doesn't need to follow the orders of someone who is clearly not their boss, kin, and mean nothin to him!"
