《Unknown Past》Volume 2 Chapter 4: A Failure's Second Chance, Part 8: Oren's Perspective

"Crap!" Yamiso yells. "The concert's already started!"
At the fastest speed his motorcycle can take us, we just barely arrive at Pira Attis on time. But Yamiso's right, we're running out of time!
"I can get there if...!" I start.
"Save your rhime!" Yamiso retorts. "We'll get there!"
Putting our goal before everything else, Yamiso drives through the city, dodging civilians and other vehicles as we go.
"Guess sneaking in isn't an option!" Yamiso yells.
"Yamiso!? What are you...!?"
"HOLD TIGHT!!!"
We arrive at the city hall.
BATAN!
And drive through the front door. The motorcycle airborne, the two of us jump off with Yamiso taking flight with his Fallen Wings.
GGGGGGAAAAAAA!!!!
The motorcycle crashes into the wall, barely missing the secreta...!
(They're here!?) I think...
As I recognize some of Hunter's lackeys.
"Forget them!" Yamiso yells, flying past them. "Move!"
"Uh...right!!"
(Soul Conversion 5...BEAT!)
We plow down the corridors towards the concert hall, each of us making quick strikes against the yakuza members in our way. Quick slashes from Yamiso's Devil's Claws and my Clarent knocking them out of the way.
Sasa!
"Hunter! Hunter come in!" one wounded minion says into a communication crystal as we pass them.
"What is it?"
"Two Keisetsu members are here! A darkness tone and that cloaked kid!"
"What!? Why haven't you stopped them!? We set a trap everywhere they could sneak in!"
"That's the thing! They broke in through the front door!"
"WHAT!? Stop them NOW! Sutoria and Ken aren't ready yet!"
"R-Right!"
Sasa! Sasa! Sasa! Sasa!
The further in we go, the more resistance we face. Honestly, I'm not surprised. Yamiso looks back at the continuously increasing number of pursuers, then lands.
"Yamiso!" I yell, stopping.
"Go! Your friend needs you. Go!"
I hesitate, but hear the sound of clapping on the loudspeakers. Sutoria's finished with her song!
"Don't die on me!" I yell as I leave him.
Yamiso smiles, then turns to his enemies.
"Alright, you bastards! Time for some payback!"

It's the beginning of a series I know I'm going to enjoy, with great writing and hints of deep in-game lore. The characters are fun, the plot is engaging, and I never know what is going to happen next. The action is fast, brutal and realistic. This is one of my favorite LitRPG stories in the entire genre.” - Blaise Corvin, author of Delvers LLC: Welcome to Ludus and Secret of the Old Ones “A great first foray into LitRPG.
