《Unknown Past》Volume 1 Chapter 5: The Illusion of Trust, Part 10: Yamiso's Perspective

I use my darkness claws to open the doors, slamming them on the sides of the room. As soon as they open, alternative metal music, focusing heavily on the guitar right from the beginning, roars out.
Why do you stand before me?
A beast of the night.
What is your purpose for fighting?
What makes you in the right?
Darkness rhime pours out of the doors into the room, causing it to become completely black. Although I cannot see Dodge, I can hear his movements.
Looks like he's noticing. My darkness rhime is hindering his electric rhime, weakening the effects of .
I embody the essence of darkness
But then why do I fight for good?
The truth of what is evil
is not truly understood.
(It's time to make my move.)
I fly towards him. And deliberatly fly past him. It would seem that he can still sense my presence.
But he still gets grazed from the right.
I can tell from my echolocation through the guitar of my song that he's looking around for the source of the attack.
He gets tripped and falls.
He jumps back up and looks for his target.
He gets bitten on the arm that's holding the button.
He drops it, but scoops it up with his other hand, then shoots whatever is biting him.
GA! GA!
Our dream is to cleanse the world
And light isn't enough it seems.
I'll use the darkness inside me
To achieve those distant dreams.
Little does he know...about my hall's special ability.
The gargoyles are mine to control.
GA! GA!
In this hall, one's sight is greatly hindered, allowing me and my gargoyles to easily overwhelm my opponents when they have no way of locating me.
I know that all will turn away
This power is not from above.
But this darkness has a purpose
And that purpose is for love.
"Where are you!?"
"I'm over here!" I yell when near the edge of the room.
GA!
His shot misses me. And he takes more slashes from three of my gargoyles' claws. Judging by his movements, it would seem that he cannot retaliate anymore, even if he could see.
(Guess I've done enough.)

I continue to have my hall up, but thin out the darkness rhime in the area to the point that Dodge should be able to see my gargoyles' and my own silhouette.
"I see..." Dodge says, breathing heavily. "A darkness tone who has to take advantage of his opponent's dependency of their senses, and an ice tone that can stop an entire army with defense alone. I guess the Keisetsu lives up to its reputation after all."
Darkness is not evil
We're just afraid of what we cannot see.
Since when is light salvation?
When have angels heard my plea?
"Cease this revolution at once!"
Dodge snickers. That's the first time I've heard him do that.
"Do you know what my brother and I have sacrificed to get this far? These wounds...are nothing. Not by a long shot."
He whips out a second gun.
"Let the games begin."
GA! GA! GA! GA!
I won't play the role of savior
This darkness isn't from on high.
But look beyond all bias
And see the reason why.
I continue to dodge all the bullets to the best of my abilities. Luckily, my echolocation is still efficient in this amount of darkness rhime. What's more, even if he can still see silhouettes, I can still use them as decoys.
GA! GA! GA! GA!
(All I have to do is get in close and get that button.)
Contrary to what most people think, we attempt to avoid assassinations whenever possible. And besides, not only do these brothers have plenty to answer for, they might have some information we need.
Our dream is to cleanse the world
And light isn't enough, it seems.
I'll use the darkness inside me
To achieve that distant dream.
(And besides...Anyone who hurts my Mydrea is going to have to pay the price!)
"Darkness Drive: Darkness...BELLOW!!!"
WWWWWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I know that all will turn away
This power is not from above.
But this darkness has a purpose
And that purpose is for love.
My darkness bellow launches Dodge into the wall and continues to add pressure until he lets go of the button. One of my gargoyles scoops it up and brings it over to me.

"Sorry for being rough, but I have no time to play with you."
I look for the correct button to press and...
"Wind Drive: Great Tornado!!!"
The fucking button is blown out of my damn hand!
And I am tossed around along with it!
As soon as I collide with the wall, I see that the wind rhime causes my darkness rhime to disperse. I let my guard down. Before the button hits the ground, I see Selot catch it.
(So...Oren failed...I knew it.)
Much to my surprise, Selot looks a lot like...that Hisashi guy!! I knew that getting Oren involved would be trouble! He's so easily manipulated!
"Dodge," Hisashi ask, "whats is this?"
"All our hard work coming together. But before I go into more detail, please take care of this Keisetsu devil, won't you?"
Hisashi looks back and forth at the crystal, Chates, and myself. From the look of it, something isn't sitting well with him. And he seems rather torn up as well.
(What...happened?)
He slowly walks over to me and pulls my head up by my hair. Putting the sharp edge of his gunbai up to my neck, he says...
"I'm sorry...for everything."
"Doubtful, considering what you did to your best friend."
This causes him to flinch, then ready his gunbai for a final swing.
BASHIN!!!!!
(What in the!?)
"HHHHHHHHHHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
(That voice!)
"It can't be...!" Hisashi cries.
"Selot, above you!" Dodge yells.
Hisashi and I quickly look up...
And see Oren spinning downwards, preparing to land a finishing blow with his sword.
Hisashi lets go of me and jumps out of the...
"HEY!!!" I yell. "WATCH IT!!!"
BASHIN!!!!
Oren drives the sword into the ground, a few centimeters from my crotch.
"Whoops, sorry."
"I don't know how you survived, but when this is over, I'll kill you myself!!"
GA!
The two of us jump back and dodge an incoming bullet.
When we land, Oren looks immediately at Hisashi. Hisashi's face is...a rather difficult one to describe. One of surprise, concern, and relief all at once.
"Wa...wait up..." I hear Crystal say.
I glance at the wall where her voice came from, and it looks as though Oren practically destroyed the entire thing on his way in. Crystal herself still looks fatigued but, Oren not only seems to be in perfect health, his broken arm has healed as well!
"What the heck happened!?"
Oren remains silent, looking at Hisashi.
"Yamiso..." he begins to say.
"Yeah? What?"
"Leave Hisashi...to me."
"Are you crazy!? Have you forgotten about what happened last t...!?!?"
"Trust me."
I stay quiet, then look at Crystal. All she does is nod.
I then nod to Oren.
"Soul Conversion...40...BEAT!!!!"
(WHAT!?)
With this newfound energy, Oren rushes towards Hisashi at blinding speed, knocking him through the wall again and into what I assume is another train station.
"I don't know how to describe it..." Crystal says. "He was practically dead one minute, then his chest glowed with a brilliant light, and he was not only standing when the light dispersed, it was as if all his injuries were healed!"
(Oren...What are you!?)
"He asks me to tell you this one request."
Crystal then whispers into my ear.
(Oren, what are you planning?)
I let out a sigh.
"Very well, I'll do it. For the time being, let's take care of..."
GGGGGGGGAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Crystal quickly blocks an...incoming laser with her ice!? Much of the laser disperses in different directions, but the heat from it slowly causes her ice to melt. A laser strong enough to melt even Crystal's ice...
As soon as Crystal removes her ice barrier, we see the source.
Chates. His body seems to resemble Dodge's, but his hair is very long, its color changing constantly.
"It would appear...," Chates says in an echoing voice that otherwise resembles Dodge's, "you're too late."
Crystal and I brace ourselves. Leave Hisashi to Oren. This freak is of greater concern.
"Crystal?"
"Yeah."
"Let's show them what a Keisetsu duo is made of!" we say in unison.
