《GREED : ALL FOR WHAT?》Chapter 29-Give me freedom.

The father that these two girls are talking about is the current patriarch of their family. Even though the elderly man had admonished and punished their father when he was young, he couldn't do that now that he had become an origin god. Supreme races have a tradition of putting at least an origin god in charge of a family even though the highest power in the lower realm is the sovereign level or grand god. It is true that when origin gods are in the lower realm their power will be forcefully suppressed by the laws to the level of a sovereign, but there are some things that they can still do better than multitudes of sovereigns. Several sovereigns can only hope to fight equally with a suppressed origin god, they cannot defeat one. The origin god cannot kill them instantly, but he can suppress them easily. The difference in power levels is why most sovereigns don't go to the upper realm unless they have powerful means of protection. To origin gods sovereigns are like flickering candle flames, it would be just enough to sneeze to put it out. Coupled with the fact that only the best sovereigns become origin gods, the disparity in strength becomes even larger.
So currently the patriarch of the Volgori family of the Gemini race is their father. Even though their father seemed indifferent towards the outcome of the trial he is the most affected by it. He had been secretly happy ever since he noticed some things from the soul lamps of the participants he sent off. He had long found out that his eldest children and some other people from his family bloodline had become origin gods so he could leave. He didn't spend a lot of manpower to meet the Survivors but he sent his daughters so that they could leave him in peace to pack his bag and put things for the handover before he leaves. He had been alone for a while because he was a genius when he was younger so he did very well in the trials and won origin essence even though the cost was prohibitively high. When he became a sovereign he could become an origin god easily. His twin had been the lucky one when they drew lots for who would stay. He didn't have anyone in his generation that became an origin god to keep him company.

When sovereigns leave the tower of heaven as origin gods, they would change immensely. They would feel like the world was under their control, they only had to make their wish known and the world would change accordingly. The future was looking up, but when they got back to their families they would find that they had to take up the mantle of the highest power. They could not leave until they too were able to raise talented juniors that would replace them. It's not that they cannot create origin gods without the trial of heaven, even though it is difficult to acquire cleaned origin essence of a fallen realm lord, for a family of their level the difficulty lies in actually finding the abode of a fallen origin god not in acquiring it. But they don't create new origin gods with what they have gotten. It is because the approval of the realm is very important to an Origin god. Right now the current patriarch was writing down his final notes of advice and a list of the high-rank origin weapons and provisions he would be leaving behind. He would hand over the note with the mantle of patriarch and his good wishes before he left for the upper realm. He didn't think his behavior was odd, it isn't that he didn't love his children, it's just that he is a little eccentric. Indeed, he had only given birth to them to ensure his chances of leaving for the upper realm soon, he had come to have feelings of affection for them due to fatherhood, but his children cannot hold him back. He didn't even put in much effort in naming them.
Back at the tower where the people from the Volgori family are still waiting. Someone called out their names "Fhalemr(Light) and Ghemegr(Darkness)"

The guards standing around immediately tensed, they moved their hands closer to their weapons. Even though fighting and killing around the tower of heaven are prohibited they can't be incompetent in their duty. They identified the source of the voice and it turned out to be two children. They didn't look like children but their voices sounded immature and it seemed from their appearance that they are from the supreme beast race. So the guards concluded that they must be children. Plus they had seen this duo before and recognized them.
Even though the call came from the kids the guards still didn't relax. It's because the two kids were accompanied by a guardian that is easily twice the average height of the Gemini. The two kids from the supreme beast race continued unperturbed and approached the two twin girls that had already been waving them over.

The Infinite Labyrinth
(Story complete - Book 1 "Shanghaied", 2 "Shortcuts", 3 "Secrets" and 4 "Sanctions") It is the 19th century, and war smoulders between England and France. Any hope for a quick end to Napoleon's rampage across Europe ended when the Great Gates opened in 1800. For a fortunate few, the strange world of the Infinite Labyrinth offers opportunities, strange descriptors popping in their minds, informing them of growth, and status beyond that of a mere mortal. The materials and power crystal they bring back foster a new age, both military and civilian. Aether-powered Skyships prowl the skies, as all the great nations blessed by the Gates try to turn the blessings of the Labyrinth into immediate advantages. But for Jonas, an apprentice leatherworker, his friend Ira, and so many Londoners, the fabled ones that walk the Labyrinth are distant heroes, seen from afar. They fell short when their Potential was measured, and they fill their mundane lives with distant dreams. One man wants to break the stalemate. The Tyrant of the Dominion of France, Napoleon Bonaparte, has a plan. Eighteen years after the world changed, he will force it to change again. And when civilians are caught in the fallout, the unthinkable happens. Six people, unqualified, forbidden to ever enter the Labyrinth, find themselves stranded in a distant zone, forcefully turned into Professionals. They know little of what that means, but they have to figure out the rules that are now their lot, for they have little hope to escape their predicament otherwise. They need to understand what the descriptors in their minds mean, what each of the strange piece of gear waiting in treasure chests behind terrible guardians can bring them. They have to become Professionals on their own and rejoin the Empire. They will figure out their new lives one way or another. But will there be an Empire waiting for them when the Gates re-open? Caught in a clash of empires and high tiers, they will do what little they can. They will step up and do their best. One way or another. The Infinite Labyrinth is a slice-of-life litRPG adventure set in a real historical setting. It's a hard, crunchy litrpg. Expect blue boxes everywhere, and the system itself is very mathy. It started life as a serial. I prepared some proper worldbuilding, with enough details and background for lots of different potential story arcs, but as I wrote, I realized the main story needs to have a definitive end. So, there are four books in total, for a bit under 1500 pages, plus additional side stories, and even maybe a sequel one day. The Gore tag was added as a precaution because there are a few scenes with some light gore.
8 179A Tale of the Golden Crown
Life is unpredictable. If you turn left, you could meet the love of your life. Turn right, and be a millionaire. And if you think you are clever, go straight, only to be killed by brick-kun and reincarnate as an Heir to a Duchy. Which is fine as long you ignore plots, rivalries and struggles for power, but even if the tales of the Golden Crown are so many as stars in the sky, they all weigh the same in the end. Follow with me the story of Leonidas, as he tries to find his way in a Kingdom at the verge of a civil war and to find out, what the rules of his rule should be, so that his own crown would not crush him to death. And of course, conquest and plots! And action! I hope… Hi! The story is a little bit inspired by CK2 and Stronghold and serves two purposes: to better my writing skills and to have fun! So, I welcome grammatical criticism and pointing out plot holes, as I would want the story to make sense for my readers too! Have fun! 31.05.2022. Currently in Hiatus, as I hit a wall in writing conversations. So I will try something else and come back later to this story. 8 104Burning Tears
Two opposite universes, one with human beings born into great destinies filled with magic and supernatural powers and the other with divines; creatures only exist to serve the universes of humankind. Will the two worlds clash or it would exist within one another peacefully?-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Nadine called the waiter and eyed his moving body from the far end of the restaurant until he noticed her. He nodded his head and walked toward her. As she put a polite smile on her face; something shiny caught her attention. It wasn't clear but for a long second, she thought she saw a set of eyes floating in the air looking deeply into her soul. She was about to talk when suddenly the waiter appeared before her eyes forcing her to blink fast. She looked up at him, smiling again and then ordered two carbonara dishes and chicken Caesar salad. "So... what happened in Dubai?" Camellia said, trying to get her mind to stop overthinking. "Nothing happened," Nadine said, smiling. -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Burning Tears is copyright © 2020 by Nouran Eidarous.
