This place was lit up heavily with every part of the cave walls having lights hanging upon them. No Zubat dared to come over here with so much light. Many people of all ages were in here digging and searching for fossils, but no one found any yet.

People weren't the only thing digging, they had their Pokemon there digging with them and providing assistance. The Pokemon they mainly used for labors was Mankey, Machop, and Geodude. One guy had an Onix assisting him, so his time digging looked to be smoother than most here.

There was a generator here, that would be powered by Magnemite once the power ran out; this was to keep the lights on and going strong. Magnemite fed on electricity and minerals alike, so they could only feed them minerals because they needed their electricity.

They had even hired a nurse to help them if they had any casualties. This was a nurse from the Pokemon Center, she even brought the machine that was used to heal the Pokemon here.

Gan was in disbelief seeing and hearing all of this; this the same for Warren.

"I would love to start digging for fossils as well, but me and my buddy are a little tired." Gan wanted to dig for fossils as well, but he was too sleepy.

"No problem, we have an area where there are many tents set up, you can get a tent and come join us later." The man in yellow smiled and suggested.

"That'll do, but do you guys have food too, I'm kinda hungry." Gan added.

"Indeed, we're well prepared for this digging expedition." The man wasn't lying from what Gan heard and was seeing.

Gan and Warren were led over to a small area where a woman was severing food to people in line.

'Who is investing in this project?' Gan couldn't help but think after seeing all of these things.

They were both able to eat and were shortly guided over to an area where nothing but tents were set up in. This place had plenty of light, they even gave people a sleep eye mask to block off the light. The light was mandatory to keep Zubat away, so they couldn't just simply cut it off for people's convenience sake.

Gan and Warren set up their own separate tents. The tents had special padding in them to prevent the hard ground from causing you discomfort. He did his standard push-ups and sit-ups before going to sleep.

Time passed and 8 hours had already gone by at this point. Many people had gone to sleep in this span of time but Gan finally woke up. There were still many people digging for fossils with no success when some guy suddenly yelled in shock.

"I found one, I found a fossil!" A middle-aged man leaped in joy and took out his brush to excavate it by getting rid of the dirt around it first. Everyone ran over and gathered to see if he found one, and to also see what type of fossil it was.

Gan made his way through the crowd to see the fossil with his own eyes. After breaking his way to the front, he finally got a look at it.

It was brown because of the dirt, it was shaped sort of like a seashell, with the shell going into a spiral and curling inward.

It was a Helix Fossil!

Gan grinned and looked at the man who found it, to see that he was overwhelmed with joy.

"It really is a fossil, what type do you think it is?" Some guy in brown asked in excitement.

"I don't know, there are many fossils, so I couldn't tell you." Some old man shrugged, he only came here because his grandson wouldn't let it rest.

After 30 minutes of excavating the Fossil, he finally took it out of the ground and showed everyone.

Gan looked at the man again closely before disappearing into the crowd and leaving it. Fossils were rarer than he thought, so he had no thoughts of believing he could find one so easily. There was only one thing to do in this situation and that was to steal it!

The Pokemon that came from the Helix fossil was obviously Omanyte. This Pokemon wasn't extinct as everyone thought, as some roamed the ocean even now.

Just as Gan was contemplating, Warren came over.

"What are you thinking, wait, I already know the answer to that." Warren looked at Gan smugly, he knew exactly what this guy was thinking.

"Of course, to steal it." Gan lifted his eyebrows and said bluntly.

"Thought so." Warren laughed.

Gan looked back at the crowd and left to find the nurse of this place. He gave the nurse his PokeBalls and she healed his Pokemon up.

The crowd had dispersed at this point, everyone found out from some expert that it was a Helix Fossil; something Gan had already known upon the first sight of it.

Gan asked Warren to monitor this middle-aged man closely. The man put the fossil in his backpack and continued to dig happily, he was feeling really good about himself now.

Gan summoned his Geodude and fed it some pokemon food he got from the nurse of this place. They were all called Nurse joy, but they all had different personalities and hairstyles.

After Geodude enjoyed some Pokemon Food, Gan patted its head and welcomed him to the team. Geodude just nodded in delight and called out its own name as usual.

Gan grabbed a couple of shovels for himself and Geodude to start digging. Gan started digging with Geodude, they dug for hours on in but found nothing. He wasn't surprised at all, but this made him even more motivated to rob that fossil.

Warren walked over and told Gan that the man was done digging, and that he was heading towards his tent. They had already heard that the man planned to sell the fossil to the museum in Pewter City.

"Stop, Onix, wait a minute!" The man with the Onix commanded his Onix to stop digging since he seemed to have spotted something. The middle-aged man walked over and was shocked and soon elated.

"I found two Fossils!!" The man's voice sounded throughout the cave, causing everyone to look his way in surprise.

Gan and Warren, who were following the Helix fossil man suddenly stopped and looked at each other with surprise. Like the last time, everyone gathered around the man to see what type of fossils he found.

"He found 2 at once, how is this possible!?" A woman was stunned.

"This is crazy, two people found some fossils in one day, has this ever happened before?" The old man from before was now stunned.

"Look at them, one of them looks the same as the fossil found by Felix earlier." Another woman said.

"It's another Helix Fossil, so what's the other one called, then?"

"The other one is called a Dome Fossil. From the looks of it, these two were fighting each other, and eventually, to the death it seems." A man with a monopoly mustache came over and said.

"What? These two were fighting to the death? That's why they are so close to each other?" The Onix man asked with surprise.

"Correct! The bones are in good condition but they're starting to get brittle." The monopoly mustache man continued. "I heard that on Cinnabar island, they've found a way to revive fossilized Pokemon from the dead." The man rubbed his mustache and inquired.

"Reviving fossils? Is something like that even possible? What pokemon is revived from this Dome Fossil and what type is it, I love rock types the best!" The man was further excited, he had no idea about fossils being revived. He was going to sell them at first but if he could revive them, then he didn't want to anymore.

"The Helix Fossil naturally revives Omanyte, while the Dome Fossil will revive Kabuto! They're both Water and Rock-type Pokemon!" The man said with his head raised, he took pride in his 'knowledge.'

"Fuck! I hit the jackpot!" The Onix man cursed in excitement.

"Hey, watch your language, there are kids here." Someone in the crowd complained.

"Ah, sorry, sorry, hehe!" The man was thrilled and started to excavate them right away. This process took the man 2 hours to do. This was because he was afraid he might destroy them after hearing that they were showing signs of being brittle.

During this time, Gan had already left for the tent area. He had his Geodude scurry over to scout the man's tent with the Helix Fossil only, he was still awoke and admiring his newly acquired fossil.

As he was doing this, Warren and Gan snuck over after checking the area. Warren slowly and stealthily unzipped his tent, then Gan's Geodude snuck up behind the man since his back was facing the tent entrance.

Geodude knocked the man over the head, then Warren slowly laid the man down, who had fainted. Gan quickly grabbed the fossil and tied the man up with rope that was used by the miners, he also taped Felix's mouth closed.

Gan wasted no time and tossed the Fossil into his storage before they quickly left the area silently. Soon, the Onix man had already excavated his Fossils at this point.

The Onix man slowly walked to his tent with his newly acquired Fossils, he recalled his Onix before entering this area. Many people had congratulated him already for his fortune, but he was going to be unfortunate really soon.

Suddenly a smokescreen covered the whole area, everyone was stunned and looked around.

"Someone used a smokescreen!" Some random guy called out.

"Ugh!" The man holding the fossils was tackled through the smokescreen by Koffing. Geodude was at his feet and caught both fossils before quickly floating over to Gan.

"I can't see anything, can someone clear this smoke out!?" Some man hollered, who dared to use smoke here?

Gan switched his PokeBalls as well when the smoke cleared.

Once it was cleared, Gan spoke up.

"Oh my, gosh, someone attacked the man with the fossils!" Gan walked over to check. "Someone has robbed him, who could be so evil?" Gan said with a shocked expression!

Everyone gathered and helped the Onix man up and also woke him up. Warren's face twitched when he saw Gan's acting.

'Why don't you be an actor instead?' Warren silently cursed Gan for some reason, but he quickly found it funny.

"Who robbed me, who the hell did it!? Show yourself!" The Onix man was pissed to the extreme and started grabbing a random man's collar in his rage.

"Wow, calm down!" Two men quickly defused the situation, but they understood his anger.

"It's clearly a guy who has a Pokemon that can use Smokescreen, we should check everyone's Pokemon!" The Pringles man from before came over and said, as if he was a detective.

"Perfect! Everyone show me your Pokemon!" The man held his head from the tackle of Koffing and looked on with bloodshot and commanding eyes; clearing enraged.

Gan was the first to show his Pokemon, revealing Geodude, Chansey, and Clefairy. He had put his Koffing into his Void Storage. This thing came in handy since no one would ever notice it; perfect for stealing.

Warren did the same and summoned his Venomoth, clearing his name.

Gan proclaimed loudly that he was turned off by this thief and that he didn't want to dig for fossils anymore. Everyone nodded as to understand and even a few had returned back to Cerulean and Pewter City.

Gan and Warren went back to the way they came, he and Warren were heading toward Pewter City.

The Onix man passed out from anger, he couldn't find the thief and Felix was later found tied up and robbed as well!
