When I came back to my senses, I could feel a bit of a pain on my back and also my head was hurting a lot. I could feel the warmth of the sun on my face and could feel the warmth flowing all the way through my body.

I wanted to open my eyes but the sunlight kept it hard to open. Slowly and little by little I opened my eyes. I was looking at the blue sky. The sky was plain and had no clouds floating.

I didn’t know how I got here and when. All I knew was that I had a strange dream. A dream about meeting a god and making a negotiation. A dream about traveling to another world.

Now that I’m back to reality, all I can do is to forget that dream and find a job.

Wait! This doesn’t feel right. Why does my back hurt like I fell down from a tree. The last time I fell asleep was back in my room. This doesn’t make sense at all.

Could the dream actually be a reality that was so impossible that I could only think of it as a dream?

If it is true then, I’m in another world and I fell down from the sky. If so, then I’ll need to end this quick.

I finally decide to stand up from the ground as I was still laying down staring at the sky. I sit up straight and look in front of me to know where I was.

I was still unable to sit straight perfectly because of the fall, so I used my left hand as a support to sit while holding the ground.

“Hmm? My hands just touched something real soft on the ground”

I look at my left side to know what I had got a hold of.

“Ah!! It’s a girl!”

I was shocked to see a girl next to me. She looked like she was around my age and had really long and beautigful blonde hair. And the place my hands were touching was probably...

“Oppai!!”

Oh no! I screamed that really loudly. I look around to see if anyone was around. Well, as far as I could see was only the green land and trees. I felt a bit relieved and looked at the girl.

She was sleeping but the look on her face was really strange. She was breathing heavily and her body was sweating a river. She was wearing a red dress that looked like from some anime fantasy.

“Wait... Why am is still holding her....”

I lift my hands from her chest and back off real quick. I could say that the way I did it was rough enough to wake her up.

“She woke up!” (I said to myself in a low voice)

She woke up and rubbed her eyes as she opened them. She looked at me and her sleepy face suddenly turned into an embarrassed expression.

“You.... You woke up!” (She shouted pointing at me)

“Uh..yeah. I guess...” (I said while lowering my face)

“I was supposed to wake up early and wake you up and...” (She was still embarrassed and was still shouting)

“Um..It’s fine...”

“I make a mistake... he’ll punish me!”

“Are you even listening? I said it’s fine”

She was still shouting and pointing at me. I could feel how embarrassed she felt.

Wait, why would i feel embarrassed?

After some time she stopped babbling about her punishment and mistake and was looking at me. It felt a bit uneasy since a girl was looking at me. The environment was silent and she was still looking, so I decided to start a conversation.

“Um.. Who are you?”

She looked at me and then lowered her head a bit.

“I’m Aoi, your new companion sent by Kami-sama”

“Companion? You mean my partner?”

“No...no.. not partner. I was sent to be traveling by your side and guide you”

“Guide me,huh”

Well, I had plenty of things I wanted to ask her but I didn’t know where to start. She didn’t look bad and she was cute, that was almost enough for me than being alone in this adventure alone. She was still looking down a bit embarrassed and I could see her face get red when she answered me.

“So, where are we? Aoi-san”

She looked at me and then around our surrounding.

“It seems that we have been summoned to the far empty land of Oshiro in the South”

“Oshiro? Where?”

“The kingdom of Oshiro, where the King of Oshiro, Abel rules. Actually there are three kingdoms in this land. The first and largest is Oshiro, the second around the East is Methanos and then the kingdom to the far East is Varis”

“Oh, so where do we go from here? How do we find the Demon King?”

“The Demon King lives at the northern island of Varis. We just need to pass from Oshiro to Methanos and then to Varis and finally to the island.”

“How long will it take to reach there?”

“Keeping the distance and problems we may face in the future, it may take three months”

“Three months?!! That’s a lot of time!”

“Yes, you will be needing a lot of experience before you face him too”

“Okay, I get it. So where do we head now?”

“Probably to the passing gate of Oshiro and Methanos behind the main town”

She stares at me while I get a hopeless reaction out of this. I mean it is really a long journey, right? It may even cost my life. But just thinking about the reward from Kami-sama pumps me up.

“I have to tell you something, Kazese-san”

“Hmm, is there something more to the story?”

“No, it’s about you and your powers”

“My powers? Am I not supposed to be some op character in some manga?”

“No, the powers you have, has not yet matured enough to face the main opponent yet. You need to learn them yourself and polish them well”

“Well, I think I can do that. But I still have one more question to ask”

“What is it, Kajou-san?

“What about the gift that Kami-sama promised me?”

“Gift?”

She looked like she was thinking deeply as she repeatedly murmured the word ‘Gift’ over and over. And then she stopped suddenly and looked at me. She face was blushing again as if I asked something embarrassing to her.

“Um.. That gift that Kami-sama....pro..mised to you”

“Yes...yes. Is it some holy weapon or something that has powers beyond the imagination?”

She looked shy and was holding her left arm with head held low. And it took me a while to understand after seeing her reaction to my question. I wasn’t sure at first but, the way she kept looking at me and then at the ground made me sure that I already received the gift. And I knew exactly what the gift was.

“Don’t tell me... You??”

“Hai.. I’m sorry but since you don’t know anything about this place, Kami-sama sent me here”

“I am his gift to you”

“What??”

Damn, I was expecting too much. I have been cheated and made a fool. Ah.. It’s my fault for not realizing.

“Don’t act like you don’t need me. You won’t last a week without me” (She said while pouting)

What can I say after that? She was telling the fact after all. It will be hard to live if I have no knowledge about this place.

“It’s fine. I accept the gift. And you are a girl after all”

Though I was fooled into receiving a gift completely out of my imagination, it was actually good on the bright side. I had a companion that I will be needing a lot. I could die of feeling lonely while wandering around the forest and deserts. And the best of all, I have a pretty girl with me. I’m happy though.

“What are you thinking....”

“Oh, it’s nothing. Well, nice to meet you. You can call me Kazese”

“Um.. nice to meet you too, Ka.. Kazese-san”

“There’s no need to be polite. We are companions after all.”

“Yes, then... Kazese-kun?”

“That’s better. So, where do we head to now? Aoi-kun”

For a moment her eyes were looking at me and they were sparkling. I don’t know why they were sparkling but I could see that she was starting to feel comfortable talking to me.

“We will be heading towards the village in the north”

“Okay, let’s start walking and complete this together”

“Hai!!”

She was smiling and looked a lot happier than before. We stood up from the ground and started walking. The land was really beautiful. It looked like some garden and it was huge. There were trees and plants everywhere, there were animals too. As far as I could see, there was no end to this heavenly place.
