《Broken Emperor》Chapter 51

She raised her eyes to look at him.
"In some other worlds, beings were gifted with messengers from the one and only God, showing them the way. But, even in those, who believed and those who shunned the words of those messengers were many. At the end of the day, nobody would be able to see the truth even if you lay it in front of them, until they raise above, whether there is truly a heaven and hell, or whether after death, you just dissapear." He placed his head on his hand, turning to look at her. "Whether it's this world, mine, others, there were only two choices for us. Either you act good, or don't. Whatever you do, whether walk one path, both, or none." He raised his finger again to the sky. "God, will judge your path."
Diana's eyes exlaimed in surprise. Whenever Cayn used the word god he would always say 'your god'. This was the first time, he spoke like this.
"Being good, or bad doesn't only affect your futur judgement. It affects you as a whole, as a being. you should have noticed, when you help people, when you stand for something good, when you take care of your body, how heartwarm it feels no matter how harsh the path to do it is. As a princess, for your people, you must have felt it a lot. To serve your parents, to not deceive the weak, to not be greedy for wealth, to always respect your authorities, to not lose respect of those who rank below you, to treat your friends with sincerity, to be loyal no matter what. Doing all this and more would make you a righteous person. Do you see, how hard it is to be a good person? It is a discipline, more like working out on a set basis. You train yourself. And once it's in your blood, getting rid of it, is the hardest thing to do. Your believes, are also something you train, work on, build. As I said, it defines you, as a whole."

Diana nodded.
"We will all be judged, and it will never be unfair. Because God, knows everything about us, everything, why you made those choices, how, what you were thinking making them, how did you grow up to be this way. Everything. God knows everything, about you, his creation. God's judgement, is never wrong."
Diana took a deep breath. "Did you, see him?"
Cayn's eyes turned warm. "I did. When i stood before God, I kneeled, crying, for the first time in my life. As if I could finally rest, as if warm hands wrapped around my heart, telling me all my efforts weren't in vain. I felt so, little, yet protected. I," Cayn, "felt protected," smiled, so innocently, for the first time in her eyes.
Diana couldn't utter a word anymore, her heart skipped a beat. "A-are those angels, stronger than you?" She tried to change the subject.
He chuckled at her effort, but still answered her. "They were. Now, there is only one of them who could be concidered my rival."
Diana's eyes widened. "Your, rival?"
"Yes. I, miss fighting with him, and alongside him."
Diana stared at him for a moment. "How, old are you?"
Cayn smiled, "I don't know, I lived eternly and probably billions of years high above. But in the material realm, my old world i lived till thirty-five. I opened my eyes 2 years later in this world."
Diana remained quiet for a while. "Why were you reborn?"
"I don't know. It was, an order."
"That means you are-"
"Not a true angel, since i still have freedom of will, but I rank as one."
Diana's back straightened, "What..." she took a deep breath. "What was your role?"
Cayn showed her the flower that was in his hand, it slowly decayed into nothingness. "The angel of the end," dark aura covered his body, it was different from anything she saw before. This wasn't mana, magic, ki. "the one tasked of erasing worlds," Diana saw the abyss, but it wasnt scary, rather, she felt, numb, as an image of a dark haired man, half naked, majestic dark wings, black blindfolds covering his eyes, appeared behind Cayn. The image faded. Diana blinked, finding Cayn with a glass of wine in front of her.

She held it and drank a bit.
"Well this doesn't make much of a difference anymore," She said sighing. "But the fac that there is a one true God above all... No, it isn't that surprising. A God can't die, sleep, eat, an omnipotent existence, otherwise, everything would crumble. It's been there all along. The definition of God. A-and everything makes sense. We, were created for a role, since the first creations, everyone's choices impacted others, while God watched from above. Good, bad, and the fine line between them, it was all up to our freedom of will." Diana's eyes widened. "Freedom of will." She turned to look at him. "That was the answer, and the gift we were bestowed." She started chuckling, "Everything, was up to us. Whether we make this world a living paradise, or hell. It is up to us, his creations. It has always been. The concept of heaven and hell didn't change. It's just, there is a bigger picture. So yeah, it isn't surprising. At first since I thought you were a god yourself we will be spending eternity in your realm. Now hoping I will spend that eternity by your side, whether it's hell or heaven. I am lucky to find my path, becoming a better ruler for my people, and after all, a better person. " She smiled.
Cayn started playing with the flowers next to her. "Maybe, me being reborn, was to meet you."
Diana's mind went blank for a second.
"Yeah, meeting you," he slowly raised his eyes, meeting hers, "would be my destiny. I can't be more sure."
Diana felt hot, her wholeface became red, she looked away in embarassement. "Stupid."
Cayn started laughing, "How long has it been since you insulted me."
"Stuuupid, dumb," she continues as she laid her head on her arms, placed on the corner of the tub looking away from him.
"Look at me," his voice got deeper, calm.
She slowly turned her head in shyness.
He looked at her for a moment, "You are amazingly beautiful, my dear wife."
She turned her head hurriedly again, "Bastard." She could hear him chuckle behind her.
Suddenly she felt his lips next to her ear, "I love you."
She hid her face in her arms.
She felt his fingers running on her back, slowly following her curvy line in the middle. her whole body was sensitive.
"Cayn," she said with a breathless voice.
"I know. I am, merely admiring."
"mm," Her body was trembeling with his touch, as if he was drawing with his long fingers on her back.
"But, get well soon." His fingers ran to her shoulders and neck, brushing her hair away. "I can't control myself, when you look, this appetizing."
"N-no, Cayn," she moaned softly.
"Hmm?"
"How about," she turned her head, "after the bath?" She met his eyes shyly, turning around right after.
He smiled warmly, placing a flower in her hair. "I will, be gentle this time."
She covered her face in her arms, her red ears still showing.
He stood up and walked away, closing the door, "Take your time."

Dream of the Abyss
Elisa Mary Grant died in a hospital bed after being stuck in it for six months, and like any other, her soul drifted away from her husk when she passed. For her, death was a release. It merely meant that she no longer have to wake up in pain, breathing through tubes and have doctors flood her veins with dubious chemicals for “experimental treatment”. Free from her mortal constraints and useless body, she felt… at peace, serene, even. Death is bliss, after all, when objectively living sucked to the point of extreme. Therefore, there was no reason to mourn at all and she knew she definitely didn't. ... That was until, on her way for a proper reincarnation, she found herself rudely interrupted and left stranded in the great NoWhere. “Wonderful,” she remarked as she floated in the [Beyond], “Just when I thought that suicide is the answer.” Author's note: Updates every Tuesday-Wednesday, probably some time in between. ... P.S Notes: Contains existential questions and nihilistic themes, rather philosophical. Will be rather sluggish until the MC gets her shit together. P.SS Notes: Story takes time to develop. And maybe uncomfortable. It's not gonna be action-packed or filled with battles, I think. Anyway, it is kinda unusual. P. SSS Notes: It is not LitRpg. Don't be fooled.

Vin is an ex-slave who wields sacred knowledge to demand freedom for his people. Seth is a reluctant player stuck in a game that is set to last 200 more years. When their paths converge, even the false gods will take notice. * * * Hello and thank you for giving Divine Intervention Online a chance. This is not my first book (that honor belongs to The Flock by Chris Sauter- available on Amazon). This is hopefully going to become my second book, the first of a planned LITRPG trilogy. This is a labor of love, dedicated to my absolute obsession with the LITRPG genre that has held me in its grasp for over 3 years. There will be dark situations that perhaps only adults should read including: slavery, violence and the results of war. There will be no harems, little profanity, but possibly some triggers for people who don’t like torture, violence, and other dark stuff.
