Half a year before the tournament people who knew Yu Min were surprised by the cultivation of Yu Min. It was improving much faster than before. Just after several weeks Yu Min has achieved level 2 minor stage. And then just in half a year he was already on level 4. Everybody starts to think that he had talent much higher than average, maybe even very extraordinary talent and that he was hiding it due to some reasons. But little they knew that all of those breakthroughs were possible only due to the Parasite which was sitting inside Yu Min.

Parasite began to destroy the potential of the Yu Min body in order to increase the speed of cultivation. It was like fertiliser for Yu Min's talent which was improving the speed of cultivation. But the higher the level of Yu Min the more energy he needed to get to the next one. In the beginning if Yu Min was immortal he would be able to achieve QI Subdual level 5, but after Parasite manipulation with his potential, now he was able to achieve only QI Subdual level 4. And parasites already began to destroy the QI Subdual level 4 level. Parasite couldn’t make too many holes at once or the vessel would be very unstable and could break at any point. First erosion of higher realm can give 3 levels of lower realm, but second erosion will only give 2 levels, 3rd erosion would already give only 1 level of lower realm. Much better effect can be gained by using erosion and QI Formation pills. But Yu Min didn't have a spare one.

Such fast cultivation was also noticed by the elders of the sect and they even started to think that Yu Min could be the next prodigy. Everything would depend on how well he would perform in the tournament. With his tempo of cultivation, the elders could expect that Yu Min will reach level 5 before the tournament, maybe even level 6. However, still to become an inner sect disciple he should get to the QI Subdual Realm to prove that he is worthy. The sect which Yu Min has entered was called Dark Sky sect while they were located in the gloomy part of the continent which didn't have much resources. In addition, the Dark Sky sect was a 1.5 star sect due to the fact that it had 2 resource places, the mine in which Yu Min was working and the Dark Wood in which it was possible to hunt for the creatures and gather mystical herbs. The patriarch of the sect was on QI Synergy Realm which was the 4th realm of cultivation. And only that was making the sect to be outstanding among 1 star sect. In the Dark Sky sect there were not so many methods. Due to this all cultivators on the QI Formation realm were getting the same technique “Crushing Fist”. That cultivation method was giving the possibility to concentrate power and release much stronger blows. However, that technique was very simple due to this any fighting would depend more on the cultivation level. Thus Yu Min and Parasite already knew it perfectly and due to this they could win fights in the approaching tournament only by having high enough cultivation.

Quickly pathed 6 more months for Yu Min and other disciples of Dark Sky Sect. Today was one year from the day when the parasite got into the body of Yu Min.

“You are ready to take part in the tournament. You should be able to win against most of those people. You spent much more time on training.” - those thoughts were translated by the Parasite for the last several days before the tournament.

This was a day for the Dark Sky Sect tournament for all who hadn't yet achieved the QI Subdual realm. Thousands of students were gathering on the main square in the early morning. While the tournament was required to begin in the midday, the amount of people was huge because students were required to register for it and as a requirement they should be on level 5 QI Formation realm at least. There were several Inner Disciples who were looking after the discipline on the main square as well as registering students for the tournament.

“What is the status?” - Around midday one of the elders, Jay Vi who was responsible for the QI Formation students came to the registration to check how preparation for the tournament is going on.

“Respected elders, we have finished registering all students 30 minutes ago. We can start even now.” - students bowed in reverence. Inner student was just in the beginning of QI Subdual realm while elder was already long time in the middle of QI Alteration realm

“How many students registered this year?” - Elder was glad that students nowadays are so respectful.

“Respected elders, we have signed 178 students for the tournament, however, we spotted at least 57 students who didn't sign in but have achieved requirements to take part in the tournament. However, most of them are only at the beginning of level 5, thus it is expected that they don't sign up. There are 2 students who are on level 6, who didn't join, but they are older than 40. In total we have. 1534 students on the QI formation stage”. This tournament had several goals. The main goal was to detect talented students. However, it was established to get statistics about the sect.

Elder nodded - “And what about the talents this year?“

“This year we have several talents:

Si Dju - this person joined sect 3 years ago and already reached level 8,

Ni Lin - joined sect 5 years ago and reached as well level 8,

Hu Nim - joined sect 2 years ago and already on level 7,

Kim Li - joined sect 7 years ago , 2 years ago he reached level 5, but after he participated in the alchemy tests he reached level 7 and as well he got side effect of harden skin

Yu Min joined the sect 2 years ago, 1 year ago he barely achieved level 2, but in this one year he quickly progressed to level 6.

There are 7 more disciples who reached level 6 realm, however, all of them are older than 30 years old.” - After the inner disciple finishes his speech he provides a scroll with information about each student to the elder.

After checking the scroll Elder replied - “So this year we don't have any disciples who are at level 9. This is expected. Our sect is just a little bit better than other 1 start rank sects and we are getting 1-2 disciples who can achieve QI Subdual realm only each 20 years. Which is still much better progress than other 1 star sects which are getting only one such disciple each 40-50 years. If not for our mines we wouldn't be able to provide our discipline QI Formation Pill each year. Just 100 years ago we began to fully control the mine with QI Formation Crystals. In that war we lost many promising QI Subdual disciples and almost all QI Formation students. If not our Patriarch who got to QI Synergy realm we could lose everything to other sects while we were too weak at that time. Maybe at some point we would be able to become a 2 star rank sect. I think it is time to start the tournament”

Elder stepped out to the Tournament Ring and announced: “All people whom I announce now will get automatically to the second round and can take 1 of 32 places on the right side, all others would be fighting for the 20 places which were left”. In the list were 12 names who were automatically moved to the second part of the tournament. In the list were all those promising disciples about which inner disciple reported to the Elder. All QI Formation students accepted this because all those names were students who were higher than level five and they would easily get through the part one. And if they would be taking part they could accidentally kick out some promising students on level 5. There was a difference between level 5 and 6. On level 5 students were 50% faster and stronger than normal people. But when level 6 was reached they were already 100% stronger than the average person. Due to this between level 5 and level 6 there was a huge change in quality.
