“What am I, what is my purpose? I have only some knowledge about myself. I am a Parasite and currently I have awakened in the body of some human being. Strange, how do I know that I am in the body of a human being? Nevertheless, this body is moving by itself. I don’t control it. But how did I get in this body?”

Parasite observed for a few moments what its host was doing and then it understood that the current host was trying to consume energy which was inside the stomach. And then new knowledge appeared in the Parasite mind.

“Now I understand. So I was inside some kind of Pill which was swallowed by this cultivator. And as soon as he began to absorb the energy I had awakened. The pill which was taken is called QI Formation pill. Strangely, this is not a knowledge which I have inherited. This knowledge appeared in a totally different way. Oh, I see now, this is not knowledge inside me, this is knowledge of the host. In other words, I can connect to the host memory and get information about the outside world. So this pill which this cultivator has taken is called QI Formation pill and according to the knowledge which I have such parasites like me are injected into the QI Formation pills so we can easily get into the body of the QI Formation Cultivators. And according to the knowledge of this cultivator QI Formation pill is the lowest grade pill which can be used by cultivators. For the average talant cultivator it may substitute 1 year of cultivation in the QI Formation realm. In other words, how much can be gained from the pill is strictly dependent on the talent of the user. Interesting is that such parasites as me are not injected into other higher grade pills while higher realms cultivators can sense parasites inside. Due to this parasites which get into the body of the QI Formation cultivators are slowly adapting and becoming similar to QI flow which makes it very hard to sense it.”

After Parasite observed the host for some more time and read some more memory it made some more conclusions. - “It seems that I was in hibernation for a long time. However, I still can’t understand the reason why I was injected in that pill. Additionally there is some additional information which I gained. Due to long hibernation I have enough energy to live only for 200-300 years. I need to observe more and come up with some plan.”

After the parasite had fully awakened it began to inspect the host even more. Getting deeper in the memories of this person. It takes much time to integrate into the host body and even more time to start to control inner processes. After Parasite finished initial preparation, it realised that the current situation is not very promising.

“This host is a very untalented person. It would take around a hundred years for him to achieve the next realm. And even that would take a lot of resources and luck for this cultivator. And with this material I should work? Ehh, let's think about what we have. Host name is Yu Min, parents were cultivators, but they died in the last sect war. They didn't achieve much, only second realm first levels, due to this they didn't have much to give to their son. The only thing which they could allow is to help their son to join the sect and even this was allowed due to the fact that during war many disciples have died. Sect was in demand for new cultivators, due to this, sect Elders were generous to allow such possibility. The problem was that Yu Min was only 1 year old. His parents were happy that the sect would look after Yu Min if they would die and even promote him to cultivator when he is ready. Otherwise, their son never would die in this cruel world. Location where these cultivators are leaving is very harsh. Normal people in such an environment will not be able to survive. Due to this all people wanted to become cultivators in that area. Currently Yu Min is 15 years old. For the last 14 years he was living in a sect and cultivating rice fields. Sect allowed to begin cultivation when a person is reaching 14 years old while it shows that the user has a strong enough body and is not sick with something. Due to this Yu Min was cultivating only for the past one year ago. In this one year he achieved a peak of level 1 QI Formation realm and it was achieved mostly due to the help of 2 QI Formation pills. One which he got when he was allowed to cultivate one year ago and the second was received today after 1 year.

In this world, QI Formation was the first realm in the cultivation path. Three first realms were called QI Formation, QI Subdual and QI Alteration. And each of those realms were divided into 10 levels. And each level is divided into 3 sublevels: small, large and pick. The first realm is allowed to form QI in the body of the cultivator which is making the body stronger, less affected by mortal disease and temperatures, in other words, provides more stamina, so cultivator needs less time for sleep. However, if a person is already sick with very bad disease cultivation may not help until the disciple will not reach higher levels. Nobody would waste medicine pills to cure mortal sickness. The first level gives only minor enhancements, while the last level gives almost 4-5 times increase in strangeness as well as cultivator does not need sleep for several weeks. “

Due to the fact that Yu Min didn't achieve 2nd level after one year it is clearly stated how good his talent is. However, the potential of his body was higher than his talent. If Yu Min was immortal he would be able to achieve the middle of QI Subdual realm. But the life of the cultivator who is only in the QI Formation realm could be at most 150 years if that cultivator would not achieve QI Subdual realm. Due to this without enough resources or time Yu Min would never get to his maximal potential. Each person in this world has their own limits and it is almost not possible get over it without external intervention. But for the parasite this potential was not just the limit but as well the resource which it can use.

“Currently I can only do 2 things with the host. I can impact the emotions of the users and use his potential in order to increase his cultivation speed. However, it is better not to overuse my second power while I need this body in the best condition. Currently I will not have any power to change this body, not until I gather more energy. And it would be very hard to do in the current condition. As far as I understand Yu Min is working in the mine for 10 hours per day, 8-9 hours for sleep, 3 hours for cultivation and other time he is wasting. At the beginning Yu Min was cultivating very much, however, after several months he understood that his cultivation is not very effective and due to this he has decreased it to 3 hours. So it would be enough to relax after hard work and gather energy for the next day. All students should do some work in order to not be excluded from the sect. As a reward after one year, the sect is providing one QI Formation pill which can help cultivators in the QI Formation realm. There are other jobs, which are much more profitable, but they require a higher QI level as well as those that have higher risks. For instance, QI Formation cultivators can help QI Subdual cultivators in hunting on monsters in woods as porters or bait. However, if a cultivator has QI Formation level 5 or less that cultivator would not be able to run away if there would be some strong monsters. Even cultivators with level 7-8 were not always getting back from such hunting missions. However, that could be not only monsters, but disciples from other sects. Another work was related to testing new alchemy pills, however, the risk was even higher while you don't know what effect this pill has. It may kill you, destroy your QI or make you cripple. And it is required to test 10 pills in order to obtain one QI Formation pill. Yu Min knew one lucky person who not only got a QI Formation pill, but also gained a new ability which makes his skin harden. However, he knew many more people who were not lucky and they either lost their lives or became simple mortals without a chance to become cultivators.“

The plan was simple to stop wasting time on Yu Min and require him to cultivate more. In order to achieve this, the parasite should spend several weeks affecting the emotions of Yu Min to prolong the duration of the meditations. Additionally, the parasite found the information that in 1 year there will be a tournament in which all cultivators who reached 5th level of QI Formation can take part. For getting in the first 32 each person could get QI Formation Pills as a reward. Getting higher positions would have better rewards, but those would be revealed only during the tournament.

“You need to train more. Your cultivation is low. You need to concentrate on the cultivation. You need to begin practice after you finish the work” - those thoughts were translated by the Parasite into the Yu Min mind on a daily basis.

All people who knew Yu Min noticed that he stopped spending time with them and began meditating after work. In his defence he was stating that in 1 year he wanted to take part in the tournament. But they were thinking that he was joking because they knew his talent. They had similar talent and they knew that even if they had 50 QI Formation Pills they would not be able to get to level 5 QI Formation in 1 year. Their talent was almost the lowest. Little bit lower and they would not be able to step on the path of cultivation and in such case even QI Formation Pill will not be helpful while it's energy would just dissipate. With their current talent this QI formation pill can help them to get one sublevel at most on the first level of QI Formation. For them on the 2nd level of QI Formation it would require already two pills to achieve small improvement. Each level would require much more QI Formation pills then previous. And they couldn't even think about much stronger pills while they would never get them. For the average talent it would be enough to use 1 QI Formation pill to improve from level 1 to level 2. So the difference was almost 4 times.
