《State of Flow》Chapter 12

Walking through the path we keep our eyes pealed for any danger however I think we all have an idea for how this is gonna go. “So there is probably going to be enemy's and plants at each corner, we all agree on that right?” Drake confirms my thoughts with his words, one he finishes speaking we relax a bit however we do not let our guards down too much. As we walk along the edge it does not take very long to reach the next corner. This time rather than a tree we find a small pond covered in comically large lily pads, in the center of the pond is a fountain with cattails sticking out of it. “Whelp I think we got fish monsters this time, that or the lily pads are some kind of plant monster.” Legos speculates out loud while nocking his bow. “Lets test one of those ideas.” With a *thwap* an arrow pierces the closest lily pad and sticks into it, after a moment of silence he exhales. “Guess its not the lily pads” He mutters before turning to the rest of us. “Probably have to interact with the plant to activate the mobs like the snakes and the fruit.” Walking up to the waters edge he grabs a small stick and pushes it into the water and takes it back out. “Well its shallow enough to walk through if a bit cumbersome who wants wade through to activate this one?” Legos asks after taking stock. “You are too simple minded, you see lily pads in a dungeon and the only thing you think of is an enemy.” *tsk tsk* Drake spoke before walking forward and leaping onto one of the plants. “These are practically video game short hand for water pathways” He says before laughing and hopping from one to another on a line towards the fountain in the center. “Don't forget to get ready for monsters.” He sings out before he lands on a lily pad right in front of the fountain. “And three, two, one.” He gives himself a countdown before poking one of the cattails. once he does the water starts to roil and a head launches out towards Drakes legs standing near the edge of the platform. “Fucking snakes again!” He exclaims while spinning around with shield to bash the snake's lunge aside. While the rest of us spring into action as snakes start to leave the water intent on our current location. I take a moment to look over the snakes. They are significantly larger than than the ones from the tree with thicker bodies and heads. I realize these are probably constrictors rather than venomous like the last ones. once I come that that conclusion I look back up and see Drake struggling with the fact that the pad he is currently on getting pushed back and forth on the water like they are trying to knock him off of it. As I am trying to formulate some kind of plan Drakes footing finally gives out and he falls into the water I decide I don't have time for anything fancy and just start running and shot behind me as I do. “May just keep them back while Legos shoots the, Auspious shield Drake if you can and if not use it on me I'm gonna try and help him out so he doesn't get ganged on.” I shout while running, once I get to the waters edge I start jumping from pad to pad before finally leaping from the last one to land in the water near where drake fell. Immediately I see at least two snakes biting into his limbs and I go for the one on his sword arm. Slamming both daggers down onto its head I then let go of the left one while continuing to stab with the right one, I use my now free left hand to grab the chest piece on drakes armor to pull him above the water. *Cough Cough* “Thanks for the save” Drake sputters before grabbing his sword and stabbing the snake on his leg around the time the one I'm stabbing stops struggling. Looking around I see a path with calmer waters than others so I start walking in that direction with drake using his shield to fend off any remaining snakes however it seems most seem to be focused on the rest of the party. Once we make it back out of the water we run around the pond to the party to help them finish off the snakes. Again after the initial scuffle the fight itself was really easy. “Alright then thanks for the pickup Gloom, now lets go back into that pond grab the dead snakes and cattails.” After saying that drake marches right back into the pond, with a sigh I follow along. Once we get back to where we had killed the snakes we identify the snakes and cattails. Heavy constrictor snake (common) Large bodied constrictor snakes that rely on their natural size and defense to kill prey. Lake Cattail (common) A large plant that when broken releases a large amount of fluffy spores that are a popular furniture filling. “These drops were somehow even more boring than the last corners.” Drake lamented. “Fair but at least here we have many more scales simply due to the sheer size of these snakes even if there were fewer.” After we wallowed a bit while walking back out we took a tally and came to a total of ten snakes this time. “I'm guessing these will all go with you still?” Auspious asked. “I guess so, at least ill have a chance to mess around with snake skinning before getting to the fancy snakes we have available.” “True.” I answered before Drake agreed. “Well lets get on to the next snake trap” Drake said before marching off again.

Eulisses Malinor is a prodigious and somewhat reclusive wizard with an unconventional outlook on life itself. The latter may or may not be related to him shedding the burdens of mortality some time ago. He claims that every wizard that takes pride in themself needs to reside in a tower in the middle of nowhere. It definitely has nothing to do with the Addia fanatics that continue to seek him out. Successfuly, much to his discontent. Ever out to ‘cleanse’ him, or bloody murder him if you'd ask the lich himself. But soon, that will no longer be a problem, as Eulisses has finally gathered every reagent - magical or otherwise he needs. He will tear open and stabilize a miniature Rift, essentially creating his very-own pocket realm in which even Addia’s gaze will no longer be able to reach him. Everything has been carefully planned out in advance, so there is no possibility of failure. You can maybe then imagine his bafflement, when instead of the nothingness of his successfully created pocket realm, Eulisses finds himself in a quite holy looking hall, amidst quite too-baffled looking fellows, in the centre of a gigantic summoning circle - allegedly, he cannot read the runes that make it up - and facing a young and quite fair maiden that stares at him quite wide-eyed.
