《State of Flow》Chapter 7

After logging back in I found myself with my forehead against a piece of wood, lifting myself up I see I'm seated at some bar in a tavern. While looking around a gruff voice brings me out of my reverie. “Hey kid don't bother ordering if you cant even handle the weakest ale. Now would you like anything other than a table to sleep on, cause we just ran out.” He delivers this line with extreme deadpan. “Anyway serious either order something or scram its almost time for the night rush those seats will be at a premium soon.” After he says this I stand up I should go turn in the quest rewards so I can actually find a room before its too late. “Sorry about that I'll be heading out, good luck with the rush.” “Yea yea be sure to stop by again once you can take your drink.” After that exchange I stand up and stride towards the door. Making an assumption that I'm probably still in Beyford I exit the building and look for the gate so I can head in the opposite direction towards the hall. Finding my bearings I start on my trek. After about 15 minutes of walking the hall beckons. Walking inside once again I see it much more populated than this morning. I guess more people are logged in now. Walking into the room with the quests I approach an open counter to speak with the attendant. “Hey I'm here to turn in some quest materials.” “Sure thing let me just see your guild id and the quest papers.” “yea they are both on my interface so give me one second.” After saying this I pull up both my id and both quests for her to inspect. Gloom Adventurer Rogue : Primary Fog Sorcerer : secondary Common rank Clover Collecting (common) Collect any number of Gold clovers, each clover collected is worth 5 copper. Jackalope season (common) Kill and harvest Jackalope's for their horn's each horn is worth 1 silver. “Gotcha okay how much of each material did you manage to collect?” “I managed to pick eight regular gold clovers and got luck and found an uncommon ranked one as well. Not sure how much more those are worth though. As for the jackalope horns I managed to find a combined total of 5 horns on regular jackalopes and also found a 5 horn specimen with electricity as its element, I also haven't actually taken the time to break down the bodies since I got a bit distracted is there a room where I could do that?” “Got it alright I can take the eight common clovers in exchange for four silver and the hall offers five silvers per uncommon clover and for the horns we do offer services to harvest monster bodies, however it costs five copper for each jackalope corpse as for the price of the electric horn that's something I would recommend talking to a crafter with personally we have prices for magic horns but its rather uncommon for them to have specific elemental attunements already, that and the quality of the horn itself will be the deciding factor of price on that horn.” She explained all this quickly, I figure I still need to start leveling monster harvester so I should turn down the offer of the butcher services but I should ask where I could find a good crafter to appraise the final horn. “I was actually hopping to use the bodies for my harvesting skill, I was just curious if you all had a special area for that kind of stuff for us? And the clover stuff works well thanks for the advice.” I say while pulling out the Gold clovers. Gold clover (common) 8 pcs This common magical plant is used in many potions as a magical binding agent. Gold clover (uncommon) This is a rare variant of the typical Gold clover, having 4 leaflets rather than 3 it has significantly higher potency and is sought after as a cheaper alternative to more exotic ingredients. I hand over the alchemical ingredients in exchange for nine silver and put that away in my interface. “Of course we have a room set aside for people looking to practice such skills, mind you we do actually charge a cleaning fee for these rooms of two copper a session but given what you are using it for that should not be an issue.” “That's fine, how do I go about finding said room?” “If you would like I can lead you there, I need to go put the clovers in storage anyways and its on the way.” “That would be very appreciated, thanks.” After that she stood up and walked around the counter to my side and gestured me to follow she led me out this hall and into the big reception hall again and led me up the stairs and pointed me to the first door on the right labeled “Harvesting room” “Just go on in there, there should be someone at the desk that can help you afterwards, good luck.” She said that with a smile before continuing on. As I turned and regarded the door. “well lets get to it.” After a little pep up I step forward and open up the door walking in and I find myself in another hallway of sorts that has a small table near the door I entered from. “Hey there would you like to use one of the harvesting rooms?” A young man greets me at this check point. “Yea I need to take apart a few jackalopes I got while hunting earlier.” “Sounds good, for something like that the smaller rooms should be plenty big enough, and it'll come out to two copper and hour for the room, is that alright?” “Yea that should be plenty of time.” “Alright then here is a key for room A4 it is the forth room down. You will be asked to pay after you come out, just stop by here when you are done.” “Okay thanks.” I say while taking the key from his hands. Finding my room I unlock the door and enter, inside is pretty bare, just a big table and a much smaller one with some stuff on it. Going over to the small table I identify the tools. Shears (common) Medium sized shears for cutting low level monster skin. Forceps (common) Tools to pull small objects from a body to avoid using hands. Dagger (common) Dagger used for monster dissection. Those three plus a small bowl of water and a cloth I presume to clean up afterwards. Shrugging I pull out the first rabbit and begin, and I'll be honest I just skin it and remove the horns and toss the rest in storage for a later date I don't feel like trying to figure out the meat part of the rabbit so I pull the next rabbit and continue and work my way through the rabbits saving the five horn for last incase a level up will give me a better quality on the good horn. Part way though the third rabbit I hear the telltale ding and continue working though. By the time I worked through all the rabbits I managed another level and none of the horns seemed damaged beyond repair. Identifying seems to corroborate this. Jackalope horn (common) A regular jackalope horn. Jackalope horn (uncommon) A small magical horn attuned with electricity. Jackalope pelt (common) A small rabbit pelt no outstanding qualities. Packing up and giving a light cleaning to the tools I head back out and meet with the key guy. “Here's the key” “Thanks that'll be two copper” “Do you mind giving change for a silver?” “Yea that is fine.” After handing him the key I also hand him a silver coin and he hands over eight copper coins. “Thanks man.” “Yea no problem have a good one.” After the exchange I head back to the quest counter to turn in the normal horns and after a short conversation I walk away with ten more silver coins and leave the hall.
