《Broken》Chapter 11.1 Scarlet

“Would you like to go to my party” Said Scarlet.
“Absolutely” Said Lucius with a half smile.
“It's the day after tomorrow” Said Scarlet. His eyes seemed different but still there in a way. They seemed less aggressive. She didn't know whether she liked it or not.
“What time?” Asked Lucius.
“Well it starts at three but you can come sooner” Said Scarlet.
He gave his half smiled and nodded. Scarlet still felt envy toward his girlfriend Allison but they remained friends. Scarlet, Aurora, Havana, Morrie and Hex spent most most of their time together. Scarlet walked with Hex and found Azrin. She had the hat they had gotten her.
“Hey, I wanted to ask you if you wanted to come to my birthday party” Said Scarlet.
“That would be great” Said Azrin.
Scarlet was happy that she would finally be able to have a real party with food and all the normal birthday things. She felt a chill run down her spine once again. That feeling had hit her once again. The dreams were the least of her worries. She had felt them but kept telling herself they were just in her head because of the stress. She walked with Penelope and walked through the darkening world. The sky was full of snow white clouds that had eaten the sun. She didn't know what else to feel but wary. The abysses for alleyways seemed darker than ever before nothing not even the beast that hide within could escape. She saw something shift but ignored it knowing it was better that way.
People had begun going missing faster than ever before. The policy wouldn't do anything about it but fear of what was taking people. The gang's all blamed one another. But they knew just as well that they only did it to keep the feeling away.

“How are you this afternoon” Said Cona.
His left arm was now missing. He only remembered getting hit by something and a jolt of pain. Nothing more.
“Good how about you?” Said Scarlet with her beautiful smile.
“I’ve seen better days” Said Cona.
Cona was not the kind of man to lose his spirits over something so small. He would cling to hope until nothing remained and then he would hold nothing. Scarlet got home and finish her homework. She looked at her baby sister and knew she would outsmart her one day. As night came down so did cages of light.
Scarlet heard something in the house next door. Just a slight rustle and it turned into bloody murder. People began to scream and guns were fired. Scarlet ran to Penelope and get her down on the floor. A hellish roar shattered the air. It seemed to be coming from everywhere. Half her home was gone a split second later. She could see it lift a man in the air and tear his chest open. It bathed in the blood of the once screaming man. The other men and women were in pieces all over the floor. The thing walked away and vanished into the night.
Nothing this brutal had ever happened. She wished she had turned away but the light was the last thing she wanted. It ripped away any sense of safety she had ever happened.
The beast had used bones to impale a man to a wall. The others were almost alive. A woman without legs began to reach out for help. Scarlet kept her sister safe from the evil that stood only yards away. She didn't sleep the rest of the day.
The police asked again and again what had happened they could not believe that one person had done all that. They were unable to determine how someone could have killed ten armed people with their bare hands. She waited attempting to forget the hell she saw. It was still five in the morning.

“Hey” Said a kind voice.
She said nothing but she screamed out in joy by hugging him.
“Are you alright?” Said Lucius.
She felt safe as he said this. Her mom and brother arrived soon after. Lucius was holding Penelope. She was smiling.
“Why did you come here?” Asked Scarlet.
“I wanted to protect you” Said Lucius his eyes still didn't have their old shine.
“So you do love her” Said Penelope.
She had the cutest baby face ever. Her chubby cheeks had a slight red hue and her blue eyes looked up at Lucius.
“Maybe I do” Said Lucius.
Scarlet blushed but recalled he was dating Allison. Scarlet then proceeded to gag.
“Don't you have a girlfriend?” Said Scarlet.
She knew because Allison had told everyone she could. Raven had murder in her eyes when she found out.
“That doesn't mean I can't be kind to other people” Said Lucius.
“How did you find out?” Asked Scarlet
He didn't want to tell her the truth but he felt like he should warn her about that thing.
“I just heard something” Said Lucius.
Scarlet felt like he knew something but didn't ask.
“Would you all like to spend the night at my house?” Asked Lucius.
“Really!” Said Penelope.
“Now sweetheart” Said Dorie.
“Mom please” Said Scarlet.
“We have to ask his parents” Said Dorie.
“They aren't around. And just so you know I bought the house I live in. It belongs to me and my sister” Said Lucius.
“We wouldn’t want to be a burden” Said Dorie.
“Please, it would be my pleasure. And it is quite lonely in the house anyway. Company would be absolutely wonderful” Said Lucius.
Tom smiled and said “It would be closer to school and my job”.
Scarlet hugged her brother and said “Thank you”.
“Don't thank me thank your boyfriend” Said Tom.
“A thank you wouldn't hurt” Said Lucius.
“Hey I thought you had a girlfriend” Said Scarlet.
“Maybe it's you. Anyway I will have someone fix your home and in the meanwhile stay in my home” Said Lucius.
“Thank you so much” Said Dorie.
Lucius walked them to his home and Scarlet did her best not to freak out. She was going to be sleeping in his home. She didn't know what she should do. Maybe she would wake up early and cook breakfast for him. She decided it was a good idea.
“Scarlet and Penelope you will be taking my room and Miss Dorie you will be taking the Master guest room. Tom will be taking the extra guessed room. If you need anything I will be in my study. Please knock before you enter my study if you need anything. If you are hungry the snacks are in the fridge feel free to take anything you want” Said Lucius before he continued and told them where they had the extra toothbrushes.
He explained where everything was and walked to the basement.
“Scarlet your room is down here” Said Lucius.
