Hex didn't know when but she had started crying. She didn't understand how he could be so kind after so many people had hurt him.

She hugged him and said “I will never hurt you”.

She embraced the pain and knew she was not alone.

They walked back and Lucius said “Let's go”.

Aurora did her best not to look at him.

“I have to go” Said Aurora.

She knew she would start crying if she didn't.

“Why” Asked Scarlet.

“I just do” Said Aurora.

She ran off and got home soon after. She started crying and had no idea why. Or if she did she didn't want to understand. She spent an hour alone before there was a knock at the door.

“Hey” Said Evelynn standing at the doorway.

“Hi” Said Aurora. Evelynn scooped her up and hugged her. “How's my baby sis” Said Evelynn with a motherly smile.

“Better” Said Aurora pressing her head against her chest.

“Sorry I don't visit. I'll make sure to come over more” Said Evelynn with eyes that belonged to a beauty beyond comprehension.

The same eyes that had belonged to their mother. The same eyes that belonged to Aurora.

“So how's school?” Asked Evelynn.

“It's fine, the classes are really hard and the homework is terrible but I get help” Said Aurora.

“From who?” Asked Evelynn.

Aurora hadn't thought about it but Lucius had helped her with everything. Every class every extra activity. She didn't know weather to love him or hate him. He hurt her in so many way so many times.

“My friends help me” Said Aurora. “That's good” Said Evelynn.

“Can I ask you something about Lucius?” Asked Aurora.

“Anything” Said Evelynn. “

“Why do people hate him” Asked Aurora.

Evelynn sighed and said “I don't really know. People just do. I love him but I don't like to think about why people hate him so much. It makes me sad. As far as I know he has never done anything wrong”.

She knew he was just a kid that was a little different. He never asked to be born the way he was. Evelynn had taken care of him for years and grown to love them as her own. They continued to talk until the sun began to set.

“I'll see you later” Said Evelynn hugging Aurora.

Aurora walked to her room and found a teddy bear.

“With care from Lucius and Evelynn” Were the words on its little chest.

She fell asleep and woke up at night. She felt like something was crushing her. A heavy pressure filled the room. She sat up and felt her blood chill. Something sat in the corner of the room. The silhouette of the thing did not shift for a full hour. It began to growl in a pitch so low she felt her room shake. It stood up slowly and looked at her. She felt less afraid of it than she expected. It's animal eyes were nothing compared to Lucius eyes. If anything it under whelmed her. She heard something shift besides her. The teddy bear was holding a stick. It's tiny arms held the stick like a sword.

“This is a weird dream” Said Aurora.

She lay back down and woke the next morning.

“Wednesdays suck” Said Aurora as she flopped out of bed.

She looked around her room and collected what she would be wearing.

“This looks nice” Said Aurora.

She walked to Hex’s house, they meet Scarlet and Penelope on there way.

“Hey Penelope do you have a boyfriend?” Said Hex with a smile.

“No but I know who will” Said Penelope.

Her eyes were fixed on Scarlet.

“Who?” Asked Hex.

“He told me not to tell anyone” Said Penelope.

“Who?” Asked Hex and Scarlet.

“I'm not telling” Said Penelope.

They arrived at school and found Lucius talking with a girl with golden hair. She punched his arm and they sat down next to each other. Morrie was also talking with them. The bell rang and Aurora floated through the day. She finally got out and walked home with Scarlet, Hex and Penelope. When she opened the door a woman was sitting down in her living room.

“Hello you must be Aurora” Said the woman.

“Who are you?” Said Aurora backing away.

“You called the company I work for and I am here to help” Said the woman.

“Oh right” Said Aurora.

“So what exactly do you need help with” Said the woman.

“My sister needs a boyfriend!” Said Penelope.

“I mean a real job kid” Said the woman.

Penelope reached into her dress pocket and tossed the card at the woman. She caught the card and said “okay, if it's what you really want. How about you?” Asked the woman looking at Scarlet.

“Well um we were planning on getting back at this boy but I didn't think it's necessary” Said Scarlet.

“Come on kid anything. I'm so bored I haven't gotten any interesting jobs in weeks” Said the woman.

“Well you could help us figure out who a certain boy is” Said Scarlet.

“Just give me his name and I'll give you everything we got” Said the woman.

“Lucius” Said Scarlet.

Aurora realized they didn't know their last names.

“Does he have a last name” Said the woman.

“I don't remember it” Said Scarlet.

“Well tell me when you do. So Penelope who is your sister?” Asked the woman.

“Her” Said Penelope pointing at Scarlet.

“So do you want a boyfriend or is she just messing around” Said the woman.

“Well” Said Scarlet.

“Make Lucius date my sister!” Said Penelope.

“I'll try but if I can't you get a refund anyway” Said the woman.

“Thanks” Said Penelope.

Scarlet called Athena and asked “Hey Athena what's your last name?”

”Last Star, why?” Asked Athena.

“No reason thanks” Said Scarlet.

“His name is Lucius Last Star” Said Scarlet.

“Now let me see” Said the woman.

Her face had a puzzled expression.

“What's wrong” Asked Aurora.

“Well you see. He doesn't exist” Said the woman.

“I'll be back” Said the woman running off.

She came back a short time later.

“So sorry about this but we will have to do this at another time” She was gone as quickly as she arrived.

“So what should we do” Asked Scarlet.

“Sleep over!” Said Hex.

Aurora completed her homework and played games with everyone. A week passed before she knew it. She was eating during lunch still feeling down about Lucius.

“Hey Aurora” Said Kip.

“Oh hi” Said Aurora.

“So if you don't mind me asking would you like to go on a date?” Asked Kip.

Aurora felt like she had tried long enough on Lucius. She just wanted to feel happy for once.

“That would be great” Said Aurora.

“I know this is a bit soon but would you be my girlfriend?” Said Kip.

Aurora didn't see a reason why she shouldn’t.

‘Yes” Said Aurora.

“Really?” Said Kip.

“Yes” Said Aurora.

He smiled and said “I guess I'm your boyfriend”.

Aurora hadn't noticed that Lucius was standing a few feet away from her. He turned around and walked away. He left behind a small piece of himself. She smiled and felt a little better. Kip was nice and seemed like he could help her be happy. She hoped she could make him happy as well. She felt it deep down inside. She knew she hadn't given up on him just yet. She knew she had fallen for him and she had yet to reach the bottom.

“So maybe we could plan our date after school” Said Kip.

“Sounds good” Said Aurora.

She passed the rest of the day thinking of what to do. This was her first boyfriend and she didn't know what people did when they were dating. She wondered if she should just look up the information.

“Hey” Said Kip with a sly look on his face.

“Hi” Replied Aurora looking up at his dark brown hair.

“So want to go somewhere or something?” Asked Kip.

“I guess, what do you have in mind” Said Aurora.

She felt sick and had no idea why.

“Maybe we should watch a movie” Said Kip.

She nodded and they walked to the movie theater.

“What movie do you want to watch?” Asked Aurora.

“Anything that’s good with you” Said Aurora.

“How about that one” Said Kip pointing at a movie about a strange man that hunted ghosts.

“It looks nice” Said Aurora.

She walked with him to the ticket booth.

“I'll buy the popcorn” Said Kip.

Aurora paid and when they walked in. He got popcorn and candy. He ate all the candy and gave her very little popcorn. She was fine with this and felt happy having someone with her. When the movie ended he walked out without waiting. She walked close behind and smiled.

“See you tomorrow” Said Kip.

He walked off and she walked home alone. She finished her homework and ate. Before she knew it April had arrived. Aurora had not seen much of Lucius lately and wanted to see how he was. She found him holding hands with Allison. She didn't know what to feel. She knew she had a boyfriend but still felt envy. Her lips pressed against his cheek. She felt sick.

“Hey” Said Kip.

“Oh hi” Said Aurora.

“What you looking at?” Asked Kip.

“Nothing” Said Aurora.

“Oh really” Said Kip.

He began to walk towards Lucius. Lucius turned and Kip said something.

She felt something like fear and anxiety. Kip pushed Lucius. But when Kip touched Allison his once calm body did something she had never seen. His hand shot out and hit his face and before she knew it Kip's large body was on the floor. Lucius placed his hands on his throat and the words he spoke could be felt.

“If you ever touch her again” He paused.

He's eyes said what needed to be said. Aurora ran over to Kip.

“Are you hurt” Said Aurora.

He said nothing but Lucius walked away with Allison. He held Allison so lightly and it seemed as if he was afraid to hurt her. He seemed ever so slightly different. Aurora couldn't help but feel like the inferno in his eyes had become a fire.
