《Broken》Morrie chapter 8.3

They had enormous amounts of food. They began to shoot fireworks into the darkening sky.
“This is a pretty interesting festival” Said Morrie.
“Greetings, I am Azul. We have dresses for you all”
Azul seemed to be one of the Elden Noah. Morrie and the rest of the group followed one of the Noah that presented herself as Manora. She was similar to the rest of the Noah with her ruby red eyes. It seemed like they had four main hair colors. Pitch black, gray, ashy gray almost like charred coal, and a soft pick. They got to the changing rooms and were handed the dresses. Morrie looked at her dress and noticed it was in two pieces. It had a very short upper half and a skirt. Morrie had not seen clothing like this before. She placed it on how she assumed it should be. Athena seemed to fill every single inch of her clothing.
“Well then” Said Havana.
Raven on the other hand had more than enough room in her outfit.
“Hey Ravan can I have a hug” Said Hex.
Raven glared at Hex and said “Fine”.
She smiled and opened her arms. Raven walked over and hugged Hex.
“Feels like you’ve lost a bit of weight” Said Hex.
Morrie was expecting a clover remark. Hex stayed silent for a moment and asked Athena for a hug.
At least she didn't say anything lewd
“Anything for you sweety pie” Said Athena.
Even the well built people of this place did not compare to Athena.
Athena hug Hex and Hex said “Well, well looks like you got whatever weight Raven lost and stuck it on your chest”
“Hey!” Said Raven.
“Hey is right, you took all the good stuff and left nothing for Raven, shame on you Athena” Said Hex.
“I hate you” Said Raven.
“I know you love me” Said Hex blowing a kiss.
“I can’t be that big” Said Athena.
“Trust me all three of you really are” Said Hex.
Morrie knew Hex could not go a day without sassing someone.
Maybe it's addictive or something. Could explain why she always does it.
She began to chuckle.
“What's so funny?” Asked Scarlet.
“Remember that time Hex had her earbuds in and the teacher asked what she could be listening to that would be more important than what she was saying” asked Morrie.
“Yeah?” Replied Allison, Aurora, Morrie and Scarlet.
“I said the national anthem” Replied Hex.
They giggled and walked out of the buildings.
Thousands of people were dancing and drinking. Fireworks danced in the air and left stars like clouds of fireflies.
“Let’s dance!” Said Athena.
She began to twirl and move to the beat of the song. Athena was a goddess of rhythm and her from was beyond divine.
“Might as well” Said Hex.
Hex began to move but not to the rhythm. With every move, with every motion she created her own melody, a beautiful song.

Morrie felt self conscious of her lack of natural rhythm. Lucius was in what looked to be a mix between armor and egyptian clothing. He didn’t have a shirt and his eyes stood out more that ever. His eyes looked as if hell had been placed into two small stones.
He walked up to Havana first and said “Would you care to dance”.
“You want to dance with me?!” Said Havana with a shine in her eyes and a smile to warm a heart.
“No, the other girl Havana” Said Lucius.
“No other Noah here has the same title as me, you know that” Said Havana.
“Just shut up and dance with me” Said Lucius with his half smile.
She took his hands and they began to dance. Raven was bursting with envy. Morrie felt sick to her stomach.
“Hey girls scene we aren't on earth we don’t have to follow the laws. We have drinks!” Said Athena.
“Let's get wasted!” Said Hex.
“Well it's not alcohol but it’s something the Noah invented that is very similar. We can still feel the affect thou” Said Athena.
“Give me some of that too” Said Morrie.
“Might as well” Said Allison.
“Just a little for me” Said Raven.
“So you're only having a drop?” Said Hex.
“Ha ha that’s so funny I forgot to laugh” Said Raven.
“I’ll try it” Said Aurora.
“Wow goodie two shoes over here is doing something bad for once” Said Hex.
“Look who’s talking. Little miss It's not illegal unless I get caught” Said Scarlet.
“Here you go” Said Athena handing everyone a cup of the odd drink.
Morrie felt the sweet flavor slide over her lips and onto her tongue. It was extremely refreshing.
“Would you care to dance?” Asked Lucius tapping Hex on the shoulder.
“Yeah, why not. By the way I don’t know how” Said Hex.
Yes you do
“Just stand on my feet. I’ll teach you” Said Lucius still bearing his half smile.
Morrie couldn’t bare watch. It seemed Aurora felt the same way. A few minutes passed as they laughed and danced. Morrie felt a warm hand tap her bare shoulder.
“I got your sweater, you like having it on don’t you?” Asked Lucius.
She turned away from him, still feeling jealous. She felt his arms hold her. He wrapped her in the sweater and kissed her cheek.
“You look adorable when you're you” He whispered.
She knew she could not hide her blushing face. But she could think of a way how. She pulled her sweater away from him and he sat beside her. She still felt a bit angry.
You're just saying that. I know you don't mean it. Cute boys like you… wait… I think you're cute.
“Why are you sad?” Asked Lucius.
She didn’t want to tell him she felt envy over what he had done with Hex. She didn’t want to say it was because she had wished it was her.

“I’m not” Said Morrie.
He stood up and reached out to her.
“Will you do me this honor and dance with me?” Said Lucius.
Morrie wanted to say no but wanted to hold him more than anything. She turned away from him and said “No”.
He hugged her from behind and said “Please?”.
She sighed and said “Fine” with a little smile.
I know I wanted to…
They walked to a slightly more open area. She looked into his eyes hoping to see joy. They held nothing, not even his near purrmanently sad expression. He seems void of all that made him human. She pulled away from him.
“What’s wrong?” Asked the boy.
“What’s wrong with you” Morrie placed her hands at the either side of his face.
“I don’t know what you mean” Said the boy flashing a broken smile.
It seemed wrong like he was tearing himself apart just to seem happy. Like it was a pain that no mind should ever undertake. Morrie could not stand it. She grabbed his wrist and dragged him off. Morrie got Aurora knowing she was far better at dealing with emotions than her. They got him alone and Morrie pushed him against a wall.
“What is going on with you” Said Morrie.
His eyes held nothing but a hunger like the void. The hunger that they held lashed out attempting to eat her humanity.
“What happened to you?” Asked Aurora.
His smile made her sick, she could feel the agony peak at the corners of his mouth and span across his lips.
“Please you have nothing to worry about” Replied the boy falling apart.
“Why didn’t you answer the question?” Said Morrie.
She saw something change in his eyes. She wished she hadn't.
“I didn’t want to frighten you” Said the boy.
The void had grown and seemed to be pressing against the edge of its cage.
“Tell us, please” Said Aurora.
The void had broken its cage. The void came crashing down on the world. His face said nothing.
“I’m happy, I took one of my happy pills because I knew it would make you happy” Said the broke boy.
“What do you mean?” Asked Morrie feeling a growing sadness.
“The pills that made me happy” Said the boy as the void flowed into the world.
“No they don’t” Said Aurora.
His teeth clenched tight and he smiled. He shook slightly, the void meet the peaks of agony and fell to the ground.
“It really does. Please let's get back to being happy” Said the boy.
“Lucius please,” Said Aurora.
“We just want to help you” cried Morrie, she didn't know when her own tears had left her eyes.
Aurora was crying. Morrie understood why. This was not the friend they had come to know. Morrie knew they could not reason with him.
He walked away slowly and said “Smile” with a broken eyes.
They stood their for a moment and Scarlet walked over with Hex.
“Is it just me or is something up with Lucius. He sounds like he’s in pain” Said Hex.
“He took some sort of pill and now he is like that” Said Morrie.
Why would he do that himself
“I have a bad feeling about that” Said Raven.
“Hey something is up with Lucius” Said Allison walking over.
“We kinda picked up on that” Said Aurora.
They could see him off in the distance and even his movement seemed to cause him absolute agony. He seemed to strain against his own body just to keep moving. If he felt joy somewhere he did not know where. Morrie could hardly look at him.
“Do you think he is okay?” Said Raven.
“What do you think. We all picked up on that fact that something is wrong with him” Said Hex.
“That’s like saying the sun is shiny. He needs help” Said Aurora.
Morrie looked over at the boy that was dancing with Havana. It was easy to tell that she was too happy to see what was wrong. Morrie knew she would not have picked up on how much he was struggling if she had been as overjoyed as Havana. They seemed so happy.
Morrie looked at Aurora and said “Should we ask Athena what’s wrong?”.
“It’s probably a good idea” Said Aurora.
They walked around and found Athena on a animal that looked like a lion. It seemed scared to death. The cage she was in had other lion looking creatures inside. They were at the edge of the cage pressed against it. When it attempted to move she clasped her hands around its neck.
“So fluffy” Said Athena.
Morrie walked over to the cage and said “Hey Athena”.
She opened her eyes and said in an equally sleepy voice “Having fun?”.
“Kinda but we want to ask you something” Said Morrie.
Athena let go of the lion snake animal and walked over. It scurried away to the other side of the cage.
“What up” Said Athena with a tipsy smile.
“Something is up with Lucius” Said Morrie.
“Like the sky” Said Athena opening the door to the cage.
“What?” Asked Scarlet.
“You know silly” Said Athena.
“No we don’t” Said Raven.
“I want to hug all of you” Said Athena.
She walked over and hugged each of them individually.
“Are you drunk?” Asked Morrie.
“No?” Said Athena with a pure smile.
“Well something is wrong with Lucius” Said Aurora.
Her smile faded as she asked “Who?”.
“Your brother!” Said Raven.
“Why didn't you tell me Atlas was hurt” Her voice had lost the joy it once had.

Re-Ordaining of the Chosen
Alea cheerfully hummed as she descended the steps, brimming in upbeat while her colleague, Quarren Leos, shot her a look of skepticism. “So… were you right about him?” he asked doubtfully. She came to a stop for a moment, her humming falling silent before she shook her head, waving her medium length light-blonde hair from side to side. “I was wrong about him.” Quarren raised an eyebrow in confusion at the convoluted response.“But you seem quite happy?” he asked again. “Because I am. But I was wrong about him. He was… so much more than I ever expected.” Alea looked at the sky overhead with a smile. “That boy… no, that man, is amazing. I firmly believe he will come to stand on top of any adversary he faces. He is destined. He is Chosen.” Quarren snorted as he stepped past, shaking his head. “Okay. Each to their own beliefs but you’re sounding like a nutjob. That skinny twig? Everyone calls him a cripple, you know,” he shook his head.“Rumours are always false, Leos,” Alea answered with a disapproving shake of her head. “You wouldn’t know. He is so, so much more.” “I saw him with my own two eyes. I didn’t see anything redeeming,” Quarren rebutted. “Well…” Alea chuckled. “You haven’t seen what I’ve seen.” In the year 917 of the Imperial Calendar, the Great War had just ended between dozens of nations. All were ecstatic when the current generation of the two Archduchy's, after the war, agreed to let their children wed. The excitement was short-lived however when the Aerianne Princess proved to be a dragoness among men but the Kanarian Prince was worse than even mediocre. The Prince disappeared and the wedding was shortly forgotten as society lived on. Until one day the Young Heir of Kanaria returned to Farrien a changed man, bringing demise with him. Follow the story of the Chosen ordained by the Goddess of Time as he returns to the past to right his wrongs and set things back straight again!
