《Businessman reincarnated in fantasy novel》CHAPTER 42: THINKING OF A STRATEGY

As Aerin opened her eyes, she saw Leon in front of her holding her hand. Looking at her with affection in his eyes.
"Are you fine?" Leon asked.
"What's gonna happen to me who has someone like you beside me," Aerin said and smiled.
When Leon and Alfred raided the dark palace, Leon found Aerin in the basement prison tied up in mystical chains, the chains were sucking her mana which made her weak, and she fell unconscious. Luckily there wasn't any serious injury to her. Leon released her from those chains and took her to her palace. Gaining consciousness and seeing her in a fine state relieved Leon, but things weren't going well as more problems were waiting for Leon. After Felix's death, Leon explained the situation with demons to the duke. To not worry the duke, he twisted some parts of the story so that things didn't get worse. Jared, who was injured in that battle, was recovering, and as per doctors, he will be back to normal in a few days after some rest and proper treatment.
But after that incident, the news of the existence of demons spread worldwide. And people were scared and frightened after hearing it but to handle the situation, the duke passed the word of the whole situation and battle as he was also one of the spectators of that battle. Hearing how a personal knight of Leon defeated and beheaded the demon lord's servant gave people belief and hope. The panic situation was able to calm down. Arthur, who had gotten the idea that the emperor was killed by a demon, expected beforehand that demons would soon create chaos in the world, but he didn't expect them to be this sooner and attack openly. He would become the emperor soon, and the ceremony preparation for that was also more quickly going on.

This is where the problem arises, on one side, the demons, and on the other side Arthur who was soon going to be the emperor. As the power of Britannia duchy was on equal footing to that of the emperor's power, it was clear that Britannia would be targeted once Arthur acquired the throne. Leon had to make the first move this time; whether it was demons or the empire, they would be in a grieving problem if Leon didn't strike first.
In Leon's office -
Alfred is present there, standing near Leon to help him with the current situation; Leon is looking through some documents.
"If I look and think carefully about the current situation, I think first what we should work on is gaining power; although we have support from the elves, that won't be enough. We have to stand stronger as Arthur isn't a pushover, and sidewise we also have to think about the situations with demons," Leon said to Alfred.
"Yes, you are correct, master, but do you have any idea how we will gain power and handle the situation?" Alfred asked.
"I do, and this time I will make sure that there won't be any loopholes anymore," Leon said and gave a devious smile.

8 126Is It Too Late To Move My Lair?
A legendary dragon... It has been told in the stories for hundreds of years. Some say it keeps a mountain of treasure in its cave, some say it is a vicious beast, some say it protects the village nearby, some claim it can grant their wishes, and some just think it's nothing more than a fairytale. He is not. The dragon is very real, although he isn't bothered by what people think of him in the slightest. He also doesn't have a grand treasure, nor does he grant wishes, like a magical genie. He is not interested in eating humans either. And as for protecting them… well. This is the story of the time before the legends, how they came to life and a dragon in the quest of his snooze. In a nutshell, this is a simple, light-hearted story with a dragon in it. What I have in mind is a relatively short one compared to most of the works on this site, but we'll see where it goes. This is my first attempt at writing something like this, so please be patient and kind in pointing out mistakes. As for the posting schedule... let's say it will be sporadic. Hope you enjoy reading, as much as I do while writing it… THE STORY IS NOT DROPPED, JUST SLOW ON THE UPDATES. Cover art by Nane, aka me. (Cross-posted on Scribble Hub.)
8 176The Rocky Shore
This is a LitRPG series. Every story you read here takes place in the same virtual world, with the same rules and limitations. Characters will travel, explore vast and dangerous realms, overcome obstacles, meet one another, enter into conflicts with one another, forge alliances, make horrible mistakes, and occasionally just die. A technological singularity has been achieved, and humanity has been trapped in a virtual world by a super-intelligent, self-improving artificial intelligence. This program is not malicious at all. In fact, it desires nothing except the happiness and fulfillment of every human it has copied into itself. If its decisions seem strange to you, that's only because its reasoning is far beyond ours. It recognizes that humans cannot be happy without enemies to overcome and goals to achieve, as well as the possibility of failure and death. The world it has created may be heaven or hell, depending on the free choices of the people it contains. The non-player characters who live in this realm have no idea that they are part of a vast computer system. They seem real enough, but there is no way to tell if they are truly self-aware. Even the system that created them isn't certain. This is world in which all the things that humans are used to dealing with in the abstract: skills, talents, knowledge, reputation, social status, morality, even love, exist as readable statistics that players can see and interact with objectively. This has many curious and complex effects on how people perceive themselves and the world around them. A few quick notes on the system: -Death is permanent -The system interface can only be accessed at certain locations. -Magic of diverse kinds is available and useful, but is not a good substitute for skills, physicallity, or mental prowess. Non-magical characters are common and competitive. -There is no inventory system. Characters must physically carry everything they wish to have on their person. -Healing is slow and difficult. Magical Healing is all but unheard of. Protagonists: Raymond Garrison- A man in his late twenties who used to work as a forklift operator in Idaho. His path leads him to work as a mercenary, protecting a small community of humans and goblins from the Seelie Fae who wish to exterminate them. Patricia Chandler- A elderly British woman who arrives in this new world with her grandson Kyle and her granddaughter Elizabeth. Never having dealt with rpg game mechanics before, she is in for a rough time, but she is determined to keep her grandkids alive in a world full of danger and evil. Jamil Mesbah- An Egyptian woman who once worked as a technical writer. Her path leads into a vast and hostile forest, where she must master both her magical abilities and her survival skills in order to succeed. Enjoy your travels, friends.
