《Businessman reincarnated in fantasy novel》CHAPTER 19: LAST WORDS

As soon as Leon reaches the other side of the portal, he was a bit flattered looking at that place. Although the place was just a cave created in dimensional space, it was much deeper and huge from inside having its greenery, weather, and atmosphere. Seeing it from inside nobody could tell that it was a cave, it looked like a whole different land with beauty like heaven. It was like the god himself painted beautiful scenery and converted it into reality.
As Leon move further into it he noticed different things like a pond and creatures which live there. Near the pond, on the edge of the slope structure created naturally formed by huge rocks was a wooden house. The house was created in a very simple format with no extra efforts to make it look good it was enough for living. As Leon climbs the slope and reaches near the house he saw a grave having white flowers on it. As time doesn’t apply over here the flowers seemed fresh as if they were plucked yesterday.
“Nothing can ever take away a love the heart holds dear”.
Those were the words engraved on the headstone of it.
The grave was of none other than the girl drake loved. After coming into the eternity cave for the peace of her soul and to see her again he carved it and made her grave near his house so that he could see her all the time. To pay his respect and for the injustice that resulted in that girl’s death, Leon bows down to her grave. As he moves forward to enter that wooden house as soon as he reaches near the door he felt enormous pressure and dark mana coming from inside of the house. The feeling of that powerful mana was the same as the one while encountering lucifer but Leon could feel that the dark mana coming from inside of the house was purer in comparison to that of lucifer.

“So this is what a real and pure dark mana feels like, huh?” Leon said smirking.
The dark mana coming from inside was so pure and powerful that any normal person would have died or paralyzed on the spot but it wouldn’t affect Leon as he could easily resist it. But what he was more focused on was the insides of the house. The original novel never stated what happened after drake entered the eternity cave. And the dark mana that Leon felt made him more alarmed at that point. Leon intended to not fight as the power difference was clear so as long as possible he just wanted to sort things out by talking. He knocked on the door but to his surprise, it was opened. The room was having large webs and dust all over the place. It was a dark room with a cold breeze. With the help of fire magic Leon light ups the room enough to make it visible for him. There wasn’t anything special over there but as he looks further he saw a skeleton in clothes sitting on a chair. Looking at him one could tell that many ages have passed by since he was dead. He was none other than drake, but how could he die was still a mystery. Near the chair, on the table, there were a bunch of books with dirt lying on them. As Leon looked into the books he figured out that drake himself wrote in these diaries every day. He had written everything about his life, his sins, his regrets, and his love. Many of them were letters for the girl he loved. As Leon was looking for something that can help him he came across the last diary that drake had written.
“I don’t know how much time had passed since I entered the eternity cave. I know that the sins I committed throughout my whole life aren’t something I could easily wash off. And that is why I never get the love I desired. For the atonement of my sins I entered this cave, I know that it won’t be enough but it’s painful every day without her. So I am ending my life after spending many years over here as a punishment with the mana crystal I created before coming here. I never thought that it will ever have a use. But now I needed it the most. I am writing this as my last keepsake so if somebody is reading this I want to tell you that the things I have as my belongings are in the basement of this house as they don’t hold any importance to me now you can keep them, but don’t make the mistakes I made throughout my life. Hope it could be of any help. Now I shall rest for good and meet my love” those were the contents of the last page drake wrote before dying.

The broken mana crystal in the hand of the skeleton was the reason behind drake’s death. It was created by drake himself, a mana absorption crystal. Looking at it Leon could predict that it was a strong one. Although drake died by it, the crystal wasn’t able to fully absorb drake’s dark mana which resulted in breaking it and the mana left behind spread all over the room which Leon felt before entering the house. The mana in the room could not be used so the only way was to cleanse it with Leon’s power. Leon used his magic to purify the room and the darkness in the room slowly fades away. Leon dug a grave right next to that of the girl and he buries drake’s skeleton over there. He pays his respect to the grave.
“I know that you committed huge sins throughout your life but you have paid for them. So rest in peace and I hope that you met the love of your life over there” Leon said as he puts some white flowers on drake’s grave too.
